- Vernon Hills Sectional Features Stevenson and Mundelein -
- Another chapter in the rivalry between Stevenson and Mundelein could be written at Vernon Hills, as both teams are favored to reach the final game Stevenson has knocked off Mundelein three times this year, and will have to do it once again if they plan to make a return trip to state in 2004. With Alan Lagunov expected to return to the lineup and Steve Michelau leading the Patriots offense, it will take a great effort from the Mustangs to pull off the upset. Mundelein cannot look past Lake Forest, a team that eliminated them in the semifinals last year. Vernon Hills in the favorite inthe 4-5 game against Libertyville, while a much improved Highland Park squad could surprise Lake Forest in the opening round. While Stevenson has gotten the best of Mundelein all season, Mustangs goalie Andrew Peterson could be a determining factor in who emerges from the Vernon Hills sectional. |
