UIC Sectional Preview
Latin has had a strong second half of the season in 2005, and the third-place finisher from last year has to feel confident heading into the UIC Sectional this weekend. Led by experienced players like Jamie Friedland and Henry Fyfe and newcomers Grant Wilkie and Tim Wickes, the Romans have the inside track to state if they can get past challengers like St Ignatius, Lane, and Von Steuben.

St Ignatius gets contributions from Brian Jucas and Matt Middleton, plus they have seen steady improvement from goaltender Billy Doerrer over the course of the season. The Wolfpack are hoping to surprise Latin if they can get to the final game.

Chicago Public League rivals Lane, Von Steuben, Northside Prep, Young, and Mather all fill out the the rest of the bracket. While Lane is the higher seed, Von Steuben won the CPL title last weekend behind the efforts of Adnan Ovcina and Mile Knabe. Meanwhile, Tim O'Connor and Tom Rodriguez look to help Northside Prep as they face Von Steuben in the opening round.
