McCarthy makes a save on H-F's first possessionFenwick counters

Morgan Bonk opens the scoring on Fenwick's counterattack as the Friars take a 1-0 lead

Bonk assists Erin Leary after an H-F ejection to give Fenwick a 2-0 advantage at the 4:11 mark of the opening period

After an ejection, Alison Pavlik scores from outside 5m on the left side and the Friars go ahead 3-0

Bonk drives towards the net and draws am ejection, then assists Stephanie Ovalle, who scores from the left wing with 1:42 to go

Quarter 2

Erika Adamonis makes a save for H-F to start the period

Bonk gets open at 2m to score her second goal of the game to give Fenwick a 5-0 lead with 5:47 left in the first half

Story Pumphrey puts H-F on the board with an outside shot, 5-1 Fenwick

Laurel McCarthy makes a save to deny H-F's man-advantage with 4:30 to go in the half

Erin Leary scored to put Fenwick ahead 6-1 at the 3:42 mark as H-F calls a timeout

McCarthy tips a shot by Peterson away from the goal and Fenwick counters

After a steal, Story Pumphrey cuts the Fenwick lead to 6-2 with 2:26 left in the half

Adamonis comes out of the net to make a steal, but McCarthy makes a save on Pumphrey's shot from the left wing

Pavlik draws an ejection but misfires over the net with 1:14 left in the half

After a turnover, Pavlik assists Bonk on a drive to 2m and Fenwick pulls ahead 7-2 with 0:37 remaining in the second quarter

McCarthy makes a steal, but Adamonis makes a save on the other end to give H-F one last chance before the half, but McCarthy makes a save at the buzzer

Quarter 3

Ovalle's top attempt at 2m is denied by Adamonis

McCarthy knocks down a shot by Carlisle from the left side

Bonk attempts to counter but Kiley Maanum makes a steal for H-F

Pavlik passes out from 2m to Bonk who fires over the net with 3:48 left in the period

Bonk gets open on a breakaway, then assists Pavlik on a wide-open shot from in front of the net to make it 8-2 Fenwick

McCarthy blocks a shot by Maanum, then Meghan Barron assists Bonk on a goal from 2m

Maanum and Andrea Peterson team up for a steal, then Caitlin Dunn scores on a rebound in a man-up situation to cut the lead to 9-3

McCarthy blocks an outside shot by MCCarthy, but Barron's outside shot goes wide right with 0:46 left in the period

Fenwick draws an ejection as time expires in the third period with Fenwick leading 9-3

Quarter 4

Lisett Calderon drives and scores from the left post to put the Friars ahead 10-3 in the first minute of the fourth quarter

McCarthy comes out of the net to make a steal, the passes ahead to Bonk who draws an ejection

Adamonis denies a lob shot by Fenwick, but Bonk scores again with 3:51 remaining to make the score 11-3

Both teams come up short on offense over the next few possessions, and Fenwick is able to run out the clock and win 11-3

State Tournament Blog

The state tournament blog will cover all of the action from Thursday to Saturday from Stevenson High School. Starting with the 4:30pm game between Loyola and St Ignatius, this page will show live play-by-play for the current game in progress. Links will be provided for games that have already been played with play-by-play from all previous games on individual pages.

We have updated to broadband wireless this year, so the site should be updated more frequently than in previous years.
