2022 NCAA Women's Water Polo - IL players update - Week 16 (5/2/2022 - 5/8/2022)

Summary:

- #2 USC with Claire Haas on the roster lost to #1 Stanford 10-7 in the finals of the NCAA DI Championship. Haas had 1 goal in the quarter finals where USC beat #8 Fresno State 15-9. USC also beat #3 California 9-7 in the semi finals
- #7 Michigan with Kasey Umlauf on the roster lost to #3 California 10-4 in the quarter finals of the NCAA DI Championship
- Jill Schultz scored 2 goals as #8 Fresno State lost to #2 USC 15-9 in the quarter finals of the NCAA DI Championship
- #13 Wagner with Emma Stec on the roster beat Salem 15-9 in the first round and then lost 16-6 to #1 Stanford in the quarter finals of the NCAA DI Championship
- Salem with Sierra Maze and Morgan Riordan on the roster lost to #13 Wagner 15-9 in the first round of the NCAA DI Championship
- DIII #1 Pomona Pitzer with Emilia Zientara and Kit Bennett on the roster beat DIII #2 Whittier 8-6 to win the NCAA DIII Championship. Earlier, they beat DIII #9 Augustana 21-6 in the semi finals
- DIII #9 Augustana with Lanie DaSilva, Maggie Caliendo and Val Zlotnikova on the roster lost to DIII #1 Pomona-Pitzer 21-6 in the semi finals and then lost to DIII #4 Austin College 12-9 to finish 4th in the DIII Championship. DaSilva played the 4th quarter in goal in the semis and had 1 save aand 1 steal

- Kasey Umlauf had 1 goal and 1 steal as #7 Michigan went 2-0 and won the CWPA Championship tournament and qualified for the NCAAs
- Jill Schultz had 2 goals, 1 steal and 1 drawn exclusion as #8 Fresno State went 3-0 to win the GCC Championship tournament and qualify for the NCAAs
- #13 Wagner with Emma Stec on the roster went 2-0 to win the MAAC Championship tournament and qualify for the NCAAs
- Maddie Schultz was excellent with 4 goals, 2 steals, 1 drawn exclusion and 3 sprints won in 2 games for #25 Marist
- Kelly Frumkin was consistent with 2 goals, 1 assist, 4 steals and 2 drawn exclusions in 2 games for Santa Clara. Lauren Voss put up a god show with 2 goals, 3 assists and 3 steals. Harper Daniels chipped in with 1 goal, 1 assist and 1 steal while Hallet Seed had 1 assist
- Grace Raquel played part of one game in goal for St. Francis (PA) and came away with 1 steal
- Kaysie Stuba of Villanova was named to the All MAAC First Team as well as the MAAC All Academic team. Isabel Herbst and Hanna Cloeter were named to the MAAC All Academic team
- Jasmin Guzman and Nicky Rafalo each had 1 steal in 3 games as DII McKendree finished 4th in the WWPA Championship tournament. Sydney Kane was excellent in goal with 17 saves and 2 steals
- Hanna Good was excellent for DII Mercyhurst with 3 goals, 3 steals and 7 drawn exclusions in 3 games as the Lakers finished 8th in the WWPA Championship tournament
- DII Salem with Sierra Maze and Morgan Riordan on the roster went 3-0t o win the WWPA Championship tournament and qualify for the NCAAs
- DIII #1 Pomona-Pitzer with Emilia Zientara and Kit Bennett on the roster won the SCIAC Championship tournament and qualified for the DIII NCAAs
- DIII #9 Augustana went 2-1 to finish 2nd in the CWPA DIII Championship tournament and qualify for the DIII NCAAs. Maggie Caliendo had 1 steal. Lanie DaSilva was excellent in goal with 20 saves, 1 steal and 1 drawn exclusion in 6 quarters played
- Gladys Contreras was tremendous for DIII Carthage as the Firebirds went 2-2 to finish 7th in the CWPA DIII Championship tournament. Alyssa Sayatovic was excellent with 8 goals. Dominica Myrda had 3 goals. Meghan Fisher, Katlynn LaGrone and Sarah Lowery each had 2 goals. Kayli Sayatovic and Alex Mears each had 1 goal. Evelyn Kajohn had 9 saves, 2 assists and 1 drawn exclusion while Taylor Woitesek had 7 saves. Contreras made the All Tournament 2nd team and the CWPA DIII West All Conference 2nd team. Alyssa Sayatovic made the All Tournament 2nd team
- DIII Macalester finished 4th in the CWPA DIII Championshi tournament. Eleanor Michaud had a tremendous all round performance with 4 goals, 3 assists, 13 steals, 2 blocks and 2 drawn exclusions. Sydney Hollingsworth was brilliant with 6 goals, 3 assists, 5 steals, 1 block and 3 drawn exclusions. Liz Matlin was good with 4 goals, 3 assists and 2 steals while Gabriela Weiner chipped in with 1 steal and 1 block. Laurel O'Hare was a rock in goal with 26 saves, 3 assists and 2 steals. Michaud made the All Tournament 1st team as well as the CWPA DIII West All Conference 1st team. O'Hare made the All tournament 2nd team and the CWPA DIII West All Conference 2nd team
- DIII Wittenberg with Kailey Cordova and Riley Kettelson on the roster went 3-1 to finish 3rd in the CWPA DIII Championship tournament. Cordova scored a goal against Augustana. Complete player stats were not available for the other 3 games

- Maddie Schultz was impressive with 6 goals, 1 assist, 1 drawn exclusion and 2 sprints won in 3 games for #25 Marist

- Eleanor Michaud had a tremendous all round game with 5 goals, 4 assists, 6 steals and 2 drawn exclusions in DIII Macalester's 19-4 win over Carthage. Sydney Hollingsworth was very impressive with 3 assists, 4 steals, 4 drawn exclusions and 2 sprints won. Gabriela Weiner contributed 1 goal, 2 assists ad 3 steals. - Kaysie Stuba was very good for Villanova with 6 goals, 1 assist and 7 drawn exclusions in 3 games. Isabel Herbst was consistent with 3 goals, 1 assist and 3 drawn exclusions. - Eleanor Michaud had an incredible all round performance in 4 games for DIII Macalester with 7 goals. 5 assists, 25 steals and 7 drawn exclusions. She was a rock on defense for the Scots. Sydney Hollingsworth was very impressive with 5 goals, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 drawn exclusions and 11 sprints won. Laurel O'Hare was tremendous in goal with 32 saves and 1 steal.
