BUFFALO GROVE SECTIONAL
(1) Stevenson 15 (6) Wheeling 7
Collin Kapecki scored 5 goals and Andrew Shashin netted 4 scores as the
Patriots earned a 15-7 victory over Wheeling on Saturday. Dan Maleski
and Kurt Holzer both added 2 goals while Shaurya Gilani made 18 saves
for the winners. Nate Reiff led the Wildcats with 3 scores in the losing
effort.
FENWICK SECTIONAL
(1) Fenwick 10 (3) Curie 0
Danny Farmer scored 5 goals and Will Skowron made 8 saves and earned his
first shutout this season as the Friars defeated Curie 10-0 to head back
to the state tournament. Ryan Masi led the defense with 4 steals and
added a goal while Chez Daggs, Colin Daly, DJ Perez and Mickey McGuire
each scored once in the winning effort.
GBN SECTIONAL
(2) New Trier 11 (1) Loyola 7
Alex Grant recorded 5 goals to help lead New Trier past Loyola 11-7 on
Saturday as the Trevians move on to next weekend's state tournament.
Jack Schermerhorn, John Pasquesi and Mike Considine each put in 2 goals
in the loss for the Ramblers.
LWN SECTIONAL
(4) LWC 8 (2) Sandburg 6
Andrew Doepp, Cody Torres and Pat Burke each scored 2 goals and Jake
Burke stopped 9 shots as the Knights held off Sandburg 8-6 to qualify
for the state tournament for the first time. Matt Klock and Zach Otto
each added one score as well for the victors. Mitch Zieler scored 3
times in the loss for the Eagles.
LYONS SECTIONAL
(1) Lyons 15 (3) Brother Rice 6
George Lundgren poured in 6 goals to help lead the Lions past Brother
Rice 15-6.
NEUQUA VALLEY SECTIONAL
(1) Naperville Central 12 (2) Neuqua Valley 9
Kyle Jackson scored 5 goals, Nick Walker tallied 4 scores and Joe
Lawrence blocked 12 shots to help the Redhawks outlast Neuqua Valley
12-9. Christian May added 2 scores and Phillip Emden added one score in
the win for Central. Scott DePuy registered 5 goals and Simon Shatinsky
scored 2 times in the loss for the Wildcats.
SCHAUMBURG SECTIONAL
(1) Barrington 10 (2) Conant 5
Charlie Hoffman and Chase Lesniak each recorded 3 goals to lead the Broncos
past Conant 10-5 and into the state tournament for the first time in school
history.
ST IGNATIUS SECTIONAL
(1) St Ignatius 14 (2) DLS 8
Billy Barth and Shane Hughes both registered 4 goals and Gunnar Glaab
scored 3 times in the Wolfpack's 14-8 triumph over DLS. Andreas Christy
scored 2 goals, Brendan Stelmach tallied one score and Sam Enger made 10
saves in the win for SICP. Robert Rodriguez scored 4 goals in the loss
for the Meteors.

BUFFALO GROVE SECTIONAL
(1) Stevenson 14 (2) Palatine 1
Allison Travetto scored 6 gals, Melissa Gartenberg notched 5 scores and
Lauren Burns made 10 saves in the Patriots' 14-1 victory over Palatine.
Alex Adams, Annika Hotchkiss and Claire Haas each added one goal while
Gartenberg led the defense with 7 steals. Caitlin McHugh tallied the
game's opening goal for Palatine while Tess O'Brien made 9 saves in the
losing effort.
FENWICK SECTIONAL
(1) Fenwick 6 (2) Oak Park 5
Catie Wallace scored the game-winning goal early in the fourth quarter
and totaled 4 scores as Fenwick fended off Oak Park 6-5 to return to the
state tournament. Kelly Frumkin and Shannon Forst each tallied one score
as well for the defending champions. Genevieve Curry scored 3 goals,
Jilly Cronin netted 2 goals and Jordin Hale stopped 14 shots in the loss
for the Huskies.
GBN SECTIONAL
(1) New Trier 10 (3) Loyola 4
Lauren Barrett totaled 5 goals to lead the Trevians past Loyola 10-4 and
into the state tournament field next weekend. Maria Breen and Stephanie
Jodloman each tallied 2 scores, Kaleigh Dolan scored once and led the
defense with 11 steals and Keelin Frank totaled 11 saves in the victory. Julia Sajnaj scored 2
times in the loss for the Ramblers.
LWN SECTIONAL
(3) Lincoln-Way Central 12 (1) Bremen 11
Kim Bernhard recorded the game-winning goal late in the fourth quarter
to send the Knights past Bremen 12-11 and back to the state tournament.
Bernhard and Alli Ramirez each scored 3 times in a back-and-forth
contest that saw the Red Jaguars take a 9-8 lead entering the final
period. Cailey Davern and Nikki Howe each scored 2 goals while Delaney
Shepard and Kenzie Applequist both scored once for the title-winners.
Jillian Schultz scored 5 goals in the loss.
LYONS SECTIONAL
(1) Lyons 6 (2) Mother McAuley 3
Caroline Walsh scored 3 goals, Julia Cohen netted 2 scores and Emma Hirt
scored once as the Lions beat Mother McAuley 6-3 on Saturday. Jessie
Wittenberg made 4 saves and totaled 3 steals in the win for the
state-bound Lions.
NEUQUA VALLEY SECTIONAL
(3) Naperville Central 8 (1) Naperville North

Kaela Codo scored 4 goals and Emily Rodgers netted 2 scores as the
Redhawks overcame an early 2-1 deficit to beat Naperville North 8-5 on
Saturday. Faith Vandercar made 12 saves and blocked a penalty shot while
the trio of Alli Hansen, Anne Marie Gunn and Emily Westlove each scored
once for the victors. Jilian Eiken netted 3 scores while Katie Horn and
Taylor Stoner each added one goal in the loss for the Huskies.
SCHAUMBURG SECTIONAL
(1) Conant 11 (3) Fremd 3
Emily Weingart scored 4 goals, Carmen Rosas netted 3 scores and Maddy
Demaret totaled 10 saves and blocked a penalty in the Cougars' 11-3 win
over Fremd. Conant advances to the state tournament after the win in a
game that stayed close early as a result of the Vikings' defense. Sam
Wooley scored 2 times and both Miranda Fenlon and Paulina Chowaniec
scored once for the winners. Becca Rutkowski, Emma Hoffman and Megan
Younker each scored once while Emma Jeronimus blocked 6 shots in the
loss.
ST IGNATIUS SECTIONAL
(1) St Ignatius 4 (2) Evanston 1
The Wolfpack took a 3-0 lead into the second half before giving up a
goal in third period and then held the Wildkits scoreless the rest of
the way to earn a 4-1 victory and advance to the state tournament. Tara
White got SICP on the board with the game's first goal in the opening
period, then Diana Fernandez and Nina Mantich each netted goals before
halftime for the victors. Edie Block cut the hosts' lead to 3-1 late in
the third period but Karen Juarez responded with a goal one minute later
to close out the scoring and the seal the win. Jenny Stelnicki totaled
12 saves and allowed one goal in the win for the Wolfpack. Olivia
Everhart stopped 16 shots and a penalty attempt while making 7 steals in
the loss for the Wildkits.
