The Lions defended their home pool with an 18-6 victory over Brother Rice as
they advanced to the state tournament to take on New Trier in the
quarterfinal round.
LWC SECTIONAL

The Griffins overcame a first-half deficit with a strong second half to earn
a 6-4 victory over Sandburg.
NEUQUA VALLEY SECTIONAL
(1) Naperville Central 15 (2) Naperville North 4
Dominic May scored 4 goals and the trio of Luke Klein-Collins, Matt
Reagan and Michael Stern each put in 2 goals as the Redhawks defeated
Naperville North 15-4. Cole Jacobs, Chris Popiolek, Jon-Jon Pettinger
and Nick Zillier each scored once in the loss for the Huskies.
DEERFIELD SECTIONAL
(1) Stevenson 19 (2) Mundelein 5
Andrew Shashin recorded 5 goals and both Collin Kapecki and Dan Maleski each
scored 4 times as the Patriots defeated Mundelein 19-5. Rahul Arun, Justin
Ginsberg and Eric Osuch each added 2 goals while Charlie Day made 5 saves
for the winners. Nick Oleinik scored 2 goals and Shane Stanley blocked 10
shots in the loss for the Mustangs.
HOFFMAN SECTIONAL

John Fischer scored 4 goals, Kyle Mitchell tallied 3 scores and Mitch Gavars
and Scotty Robinson each put in 2 goals as the Broncos earned a 12-5 victory
over Conant to win the Hoffman Sectional. Alex Hirjoi scored 3 goals, Alec
Burke tallied 2 scores and Harris Dibek totaled 10 saves and 5 steals in the
loss for the Cougars.
GBN SECTIONAL

The Trevians repeated as sectional champions after earning a 13-5 victory
over Loyola. Danilo Scekic recorded 6 goals, Sam Yavitt scored 4 times,
Mason McQuet netted 2 scores and Henry Yavitt chipped in with one score for
the victors.
ST IGNATIUS SECTIONAL
(1) St Ignatius 17 (2) DLS 10
Andreas Christy scored 6 goals to lead the Wolfpack past DLS 17-10 and into
the state tournament field. Gus Enger added 4 goals, Conor Shannon netted 3
scores and Luke Rothschild made 8 saves in the win. Shane Nagel recorded 6
goals in the loss for the Meteors.
FENWICK SECTIONAL

Conor Hendzel scored 5 goals and Noah Groll put in 3 scores as the Friars
beat York 20-5. Alex Marlott scored 2 goals in the loss for the Dukes.
LYONS SECTIONAL
(1) Mother McAuley 8 (2) Lyons 7
The Mighty Macs fought their way back to state after holding off Lyons 8-7.
Paulina Correa scored the game-winner as the McAuley defense held off a late
charge by the hosts. Correa scored 4 goals, Jill Mueller scored 2 times and
MaryKate McKendry made 8 saves in the win. Kaysie Stuba registered 3 goals,
Victoria Guevara scored 2 times and Grace Wantuck made 13 saves in the
losing effort. Annika Moore (6 steals) and Rhyan Komsthoeft each added one
score for the Lions.

Emily Rodgers and Emily Westlove each scored 3 goals and Rylee Brower
tallied 2 scores to help lift the Redhawks over Naperville North 10-4.
Isabelle Rocco, Olivia Eiken and Taylor Wessel each registered 2 goals
in the loss for the Huskies.
LWC SECTIONAL

Megan Cales scored the game-winning goal as part of a late 3-0 run as
the Knights outlasted LWE 11-10 to qualify for the state tournament.
Nicole McCabe totaled 5 goals in the win for Central.
HOFFMAN SECTIONAL
(1) Prospect 9 (2) Conant 5
The Knights earned their first trip to the state tournament with a 9-5
victory over Conant. Colleen Doyle scored 3 goals, Megan Pfeiffer and Gracie
Dix both scored 2 goals and Mary Clare McAleer made 5 saves in the win. Ann
Fulk and Emma Colehour also scored one goal apiece for the state qualifiers.
DEERFIELD SECTIONAL

The Patriots pulled away from the Mustangs late in the first half to earn a
16-2 victory to qualify for the state tournament. Claire Haas totaled 7
scores and Anna Mossakowski made 11 blocks for the winners. Eileen Hoang,
Lauren Maloney and Kalista Tapas each tallied 2 scores while Amelia Eastman,
Ashley Carollo and Julia Nicholson all scored once for Stevenson. Abbie
Lukas notched 2 scores and Hannah Stanley blocked 11 shots in the losing
effort.
FENWICK SECTIONAL

Kelly Frumkin poured in 6 goals as the Friars advanced to state to
defend their title after earning a 12-6 victory over York. Moleigh
Waldherr and Sydney Hutchinson each scored 3 goals in the losing effort.

Megan Frentzel recorded 3 goals, Sarah Caywood netted 2 scores and Leah
Caywood tallied the eventual game-winner as the Trevians beat Evanston 7-5.
Riley Hughes scored 2 goals in the loss for the Wildkits.

Stephania Lopez recorded 6 goals and Emma Dolan netted 3 scores in the
Wolfpack's 14-2 victory over Jones-Payton. Dallas Brodersen and Haley
Gibbs each scored once in the loss for the Lady Eagles.
