sounded as Schaumburg outlasted Fremd 12-11 on Friday afternoon. Mike
Gergen scored 4 times in the win, while Luke and Randy Carr each tacked on
3 scores in the Saxons win.

Viator 12
Brandon Chic scored the
game-winning goal in the final period of play to send Conant to the
sectional finals in a 13-12 win over St Viator.

Fenwick 21 York 1
#1 Fenwick raced out to a 10-0 lead after one period of play and never
looked back in a 21-1 victory over York. Matt Farmer registered 3 scores,
while Ben Skowron, Brenden Creamer, Connor Brown, and Ted Herbstritt each
added 2 scores in the Friars' victory. Tyler Stone scored the only goal
for the Dukes in the loss.
Oak Park 11 St Patrick 5
Luke O'Connell recorded 5 goals, David Anderson put in 3 scores, and Troy
Williams scored 2 times as Oak Park defeated St Patrick 11-5 on Friday
night. John Gutierrez scored 2 goals in the loss for the Shamrocks.

Jordan Palmer recorded 5 goals and Nate Urban added 3 scores as New Trier
defeated Evanston 13-9 on Friday night.
Loyola 15 GBS 12
Charlie Dowdle totaled 6 goals and Tim Netzel added 4 scores as Loyola
bounced back from an early 3-0 deficit, tied the game at 12-12 at the end
of the third period, and outscored the Titans 3-0 in the fourth quarter to
earn a 15-12 win over GBS on Friday. Igor Gryniv scored 8 times in the
losing effort for GBS.

Homewood-Flossmoor 11 Lincoln-Way East 4
Caleb Peterson and Shay Banton each scored 3 times and Jake Bodnar
recorded 11 saves as H-F pulled away from LWE in the second half to earn
an 11-4 win on Friday. Tim Zoellick recorded 2 goals and Tom Vander Velde
made 13 saves in the loss for the Griffins.
Sandburg 17 Lockport 6
Anthony Bonnar, Balys Gintautas, and Cody Corridino each scored 4 times
and Erik Niemeier added 3 goals as Sandburg defeated Lockport 17-6 on
Friday. Tony Rogina also made 14 saves in the win for the Eagles. David
Hir registered 4 goals in the losing effort for the Porters.

#2 Lyons avoided an upset bid from Stagg and advanced to the sectional
finals with a 17-7 win over the Chargers on Friday night. Zach Golob
scored 4 times in the loss for the Chargers.

Naperville Central 20 Hinsdale Central 5
Jay Howenstine and Kyle Rickert both scored 5 times to lead Naperville
Central to a 20-5 win over Hinsdale Central. Kristian Altuve and Pat May
combined to add 7 scores in the Redhawks' win. Nick Korompilas and Strati
Koulouris each scored 2 goals in the loss for the Red Devils.
Naperville North 13 Neuqua Valley 11
Aaron Katz, Alex Hogenboom, Andrew Dunlop, and Eric Curia each notched 2
scores for the Huskies as they fended off Neuqua by a 13-11 score to move
on to the sectional finals. AJ Quebbeman scored 5 times and Kevin
Patterson added 3 scores in the loss for the Wildcats.

St Ignatius 15 Von Steuben 4
Seven players tallied goals for St Ignatius as they raced out to a 14-1
lead before Von Steuben closed the game out with a 3-1 run.
Latin 11 Young 6
Latin used a balanced offensive attack to fend off Young for the third
straight year in the semifinal round of the UIC Sectional, as the Romans
beat the Dolphins 11-6 on Friday night. Edgar Lopez scored all 6 goals for
Young in the losing cause.
Vernon Hills
Sectional
Palatine 13 Libertyville 5
For an idea on how to respond to a halftime deficit, consult the Palatine
Pirates. After trailing Libertyville 4-3 at the break, the Pirates
outscored the Wildcats 10-1 in the second half to earn a 13-5 win and
advance to the sectional finals at Vernon Hills. Kamil Mulawa totaled 8
goals in the win, while John Giuliano scored 4 times and Dan Sommerfeld
made 9 saves for the Pirates. Tommy Keefe put in 2 goals in the loss for
the Wildcats.
McHenry 8 Mundelein 7
Drew Schmitt, Kyle Braun, and Scott Dabrowski each
scored 2 goals as McHenry held off a late challenge from Mundelein to move
on to the sectional finals with an 8-7 victory. The Warriors led for the
entire game and went into the last seven minutes ahead 7-5, and the
Mustangs could only get to within one goal of McHenry before time ran out
on their season. Will Davidson led Mundelein with 2 scores in the loss.
GIRLS
Barrington

Fremd 14 Hersey 5
Sam Matuszewski recorded 6 goals
and Julie Conrath made 7 saves as Fremd moved on to the sectional finals
with a 14-5 victory over Hersey on Friday afternoon. Sam del Prado also
scored 2 times in the win, while the Vikings also had six other players
register one goal apiece (Emily McCarthy, Emily Orlowski, Emma Nielsen,
Lauren Zambelli, Megan Kennedy, Taylor Spoonholtz). Christine Rovani
scored 2 times in the loss for the Huskies.
Barrington 5 Schaumburg 3
Sixth-seeded Barrington earned
their second straight upset win over two-seed Schaumburg 5-3 to advance to
the sectional finals at their home pool on Friday afternoon. Kayla Widdowson
put Barrington ahead with a first quarter goal, while the Fillies defense
held the Saxons scoreless through the first seven minutes. Samantha Schuckles
and Samantha Porter each put in goals for the Saxons in the second
quarter, but Lisa Danhauer helped the Fillies extend their lead with 2
goals, while sister Laura Danhauer also notched a goal to give the Fillies a 4-2
lead at the half. Chloe Padula added a third period goal to make the
score 5-2, while goalie Brooke Fanslow (10 saves) and the Barrington defense once again did not allow a goal
throughout the entire quarter. Schaumburg goalie Atheena Wagner (10 saves) scored a
late goal for Schaumburg in the loss.

Maureen Barron scored 3 times
and eight other Friars scored 2 goals as Fenwick rolled to a 21-2 victory
over York on Friday. Alexa Ovalle, Cara Borkovec, Colleen Barron, Colleen
Gartland, Gena Wendt, Haley Wickham, and Nora Sweeney each totaled 2
scores in the win for the Friars, who led 9-1 at halftime. Cheryl Skukas
and Jaime Redmond each notched a goal in the loss for the Dukes.
Oak Park 17
Resurrection 3
Kimmy Stefanik totaled 5 goals
and both Katie Hunt and Jessie Conti scored 3 times as Oak Park beat
Resurrection 17-3. Maddie Nelson tallied 2 scores in the loss for the
Bandits.

Loyola 16 Prospect 9
Brittany Wallace totaled 8 goals
to lead Loyola to a 16-9 victory over Prospect. Meg Dix scored 7 times in
the loss for the Knights, who went into halftime tied at 8-8 before the
Ramblers put together an 8-1 run to earn the win.
New Trier 9 Evanston 8 (OT)
Jocelyn Kupets scored 3 goals and
Erika Nothnagel and Isabelle Baneaux each tallied 2 scores as New Trier
outlasted Evanston 9-8 in overtime to advance to the sectional final game of
the GBS Sectional. The Trevians actually trailed for most of the game, with
Evanston leading 4-3 at halftime and 5-4 heading into the last quarter. New
Trier put together a 3-0 run to take a 7-5 lead late in the game, but the
Wildkits scored two straight goals at the end of regulation, as Ellis
O'Connor's last-second goal tied the score at 7-7.
New Trier outscored Evanston 2-1
in overtime to claim the 9-8 win. Kupets scored both goals in extra time to
lead the Trevians to the win. O'Connor scored 4 goals and Abby Bailey
and Yasi Nassiri each scored 2 times in the loss for the Wildkits.

H-F 11 Andrew

Rebecca Mathews scored 4 goals,
Hannah Ongman and Michelle Mayer each added 3 scores, and Sophie Schloen
(8 saves) and the H-F defense allowed only one goal in an 11-1 semifinal
win over Andrew. Anna Tenny also put in a goal in the win for the Vikings.
Abigail Wrobel scored the lone goal for the T-Bolts, while Jordan
Bartolini made 6 blocks in the losing effort.
Bremen 15 Lincoln-Way East 8
Emma Martinus and Nora Plank
each scored 5 times as Bremen knocked off LWE 15-8 in the sectional
semifinals on Friday night. Hannah Schultz and Jessie Mroczek combined to
score 5 goals and Vasi Vasilopoulos stopped 11 shots in the Red Jaguars'
win. Zoe McCabe scored 4 goals and Brittany Becvar added 2 scores in the
loss for the Griffins.

Mother McAuley 9 Sandburg 6
Adrianna Izquerido scored 3
goals and Vicky Arciniega added 2 scores as Mother McAuley held off a late
Sandburg rally to earn a 9-6 win and advance to the sectional finals.
McAuley built up a 6-2 lead heading into the final period, but Sandburg
went on a 3-1 run to cut the lead to 7-5 with three minutes left to play.
The Mighty Macs outscored the Eagles 2-1 the rest of the way to emerge
with the victory. Brittany Kamper scored 3 goals and Korey Flynn made 15
saves in the losing effort for the Eagles.

Naperville
North 7 Waubonsie Valley 4
Sofi Prorok scored 3 goals as
Naperville North led from start-to-finish and eventually knocked off
Waubonsie Valley for the first time in three attempts in 2011. Alex White
tallied 2 goals in the loss for the Warriors.
Naperville Central 13 Neuqua Valley 5
Abbey Kerth recorded 5 goals,
Madison Nervig put in 3 scores, and Claire Wirtz and Emily Sejna both
scored 2 times in Naperville Central's 13-5 victory over Neuqua Valley.
Julia Campbell also made 5 saves in the Redhawks' win. Rachel Lehman and
Tricia Bannister each scored 2 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

Cassidy O'Connell scored 4 goals
and Ashley McGhee held Northside to only 2 goals as Lane earned a 10-2
victory to advance to the final round of the UIC Sectional.

Vernon Hills 3
Alexis Jones scored 7 times and
Emily Tylka made 14 saves to lead Mundelein to a 13-3 win over Vernon
Hills. Sarah Honda also scored 2 times in the double-digit win for the
Mustangs, who advance to take on rival Stevenson in the sectional finals.
Dana Andrea, Ellie Silver, and Anna Lebiedzinski each tallied one score
for the Cougars in the losing effort.

Erin McCook and Shelby Kohalmy
both scored 3 times and Cheyenne Montijo and Karen Lowry each added 2
scores in Stevenson's 13-5 victory over Wheeling on Friday. Lisa
Michalowski also made 8 saves in the Patriots' win. Leah Malsom recorded 4
goals and Haylie Moeller stopped 7 shots in the loss for the Wildcats.
