BUFFALO GROVE SECTIONAL
Palatine 14 Vernon Hills 4
Ryan Schlaiss scored 5 goals and drew 5 ejections, TJ May scored 3
goals and Jake Conrad made 7 saves in the Pirates' 14-4 win over
Vernon Hills. Marcus Carter-Buckman added 2 scores while the trio of
Colin White, Campbell Boston each scored once in the winning effort.
Patrick Pranica led the Cougars with 4 scores in the losing effort.
Wheeling 20 Deerfield 6
Nate Reiff totaled 8 goals and 9 assists while Landon Lockwood
registered 6 scores as the Wildcats topped Deerfield 20-6. Jake Noel
added 3 goals and Kyle Noel scored once and dished out 7 assists in
the win, Scott Stern tallied 4 scores and Micah Wesselhott netted 2
scores in the losing effort.
FENWICK SECTIONAL
Riverside-Brookfield 12 Westinghouse 0
Cole Greenwell and the Bulldogs' defense earned a shutout by beating
Westinghouse 12-0 and will take on top-ranked and top-seeded Fenwick
in the next round.
NEUQUA VALLEY SECTIONAL
Hinsdale Central 16 Metea Valley 9
Waubonsie Valley 16 Hinsdale South 8
Cameron Steele racked up 13 goals and Cedrick 10 made 10 saves as
the Warriors used a 7-2 run in the second half to beat Hinsdale
South 16-8. Kay Andressen added 2 goals and Jon McWhirter scored
once to round out the scoring for the winners, who advanced to play
Naperville Central on Thursday. Steele also led the defense with 6
steals while Jared Marrs and Wyatt Tiscareno each drew a pair of
ejections for WVHS.
SCHAUMBURG SECTIONAL
Elk Grove 15 Hoffman 11
David Dragne scored 5 times, Adam Doruff scored 4 goals and Chris
Doruff dished out 7 assists and put in one score in the Grenadiers'
15-11 triumph over Hoffman. Cory Hicks stopped 11 shots as well in
the win for Elk Grove. Dirgham Nubani scored 5 times and Joey Smiley
notched 4 scores in the loss for the Hawks.
Hersey 13 Meadows 2
Jake Hall recorded 6 goals to lead the Huskies past Meadows 13-2 on
Tuesday. Hersey will face Conant in the quarterfinal round on
Thursday.
ST IGNATIUS SECTIONAL
Latin 5 Amundsen 0
The Romans advanced to the sectional quarterfinals after an Amundsen
forfeit goes into the books as an automatic 5-0 result. Latin will
face DLS in the next round on Thursday night.
Northside 28 Ogden 15
Nicholas Chen and Sacramento Chavez each scored 7 goals to lead the
Mustangs past Ogden 28-15 in a high-scoring affair on Tuesday. The
victors advance to face top-seeded St Ignatius on Thursday.
