BOYS

GLENBROOK SOUTH SECTIONAL

Loyola 18 Glenbrook North 4

Ben Pasquesi netted 3 scores, Matt Kearney added 2 goals, and Kyle Strobel and Robbie O'Connor put together a 15-save effort as the Ramblers defeated GBN 18-4 on Wednesday.

 

Glenbrook South 10 Evanston 5

Bob Meyer registered 4 scores to help lift the Titans past Evanston 10-5 on Wednesday.

 

New Trier 12 Maine East 9

Jacob Dray totaled 5 scores to lead New Trier to a 12-9 victory over Maine East. Amir Mashayekhi tallied 4 scores in the loss for the Blue Demons.

 

Maine South 12 Niles West 10

Makai DeNeve-Arnam scored 5 times as Maine South defeated Niles West 12-10. Kyle Patt put in 3 goals in the loss for the Wolves.

 

LINCOLN-WAY CENTRAL SECTIONAL

Lockport 17 Lincoln-Way Central 7

Dan Oldendorf and Dave Hir notched 5 scores apiece to lead the Porters past the Knights 17-7 in the quarterfinal round of the LWC Sectional. Alex McCormick tallied 3 goals in the loss for LWC.

 

Bradley 15 Lincoln-Way North 13

Ryan Zhe scored 6 times and Paul Weber netted 5 goals as Bradley survived a late surge from LWN to earn a 15-13 victory on Wednesday. Gatlin Wheaton also saved 17 shots in the win for the Boilers. Kyle Mohan and Curtis Thrun combined to score 7 goals in the loss for the Phoenix.

 

Bremen 17 Andrew 16

Gabe Stein-Rojas scored the game-winning goal with six seconds remaining in regulation to help Bremen surprise second-seeded Andrew 17-16 on Wednesday night. Quinn Johnson led the Silver Snakes with 8 goals, while Kris Arnold chipped in with 4 scores for the victors. Kyle Heneghan and James Fischer put in a combined 7 scores in the loss for the T-Bolts.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 11 Lincoln-Way East 9

Zach Peterson scored 4 goals, Kevin Kuchta netted 3 scores, and Henry Weeks put in 2 goals as H-F held off LWE 11-9. Jakobi McClellan also stopped 11 shots in the Vikings' win. Al Newell scored 4 times and Tom Vander Velde added 3 scores in the losing effort for the Griffins.

 

METEA VALLEY SECTIONAL

Naperville North 20 STC North 10

Top-seeded Naperville North advanced to the semifinal round of the Metea Valley Sectional with a hard-fought 20-10 win over STC North on Wednesday. Eric Curia led the way for North with 8 goals in the winning effort. Joey Chokran recorded 7 goals in the loss for the North Stars.

 

Neuqua Valley 10 STC East 8

Kevin Patterson totaled 6 goals and 7 steals and Drew Dvorachak added 2 scores as Neuqua Valley got past STC East 10-8 in the quarterfinal round. Stephen Mason scored 5 goals in the loss for the Saints.

 

Naperville Central 16 Waubonsie Valley 11

Matt Reasons registered 6 goals as the Redhawks used a strong second-half performance to pull away from Waubonsie Valley and earn a 16-11 win.

 

Hinsdale Central 10 Metea Valley 8

Brogan O'Doherty and Drake Kinney both scored 2 second-half goals that helped Hinsdale Central edge Metea Valley 10-8 on Wednesday.

 

PALATINE SECTIONAL

Stevenson 11 Mundelein 3

Alex Shkiler and Chris Hodges both scored 3 goals and Hasan Khan notched 2 scores as Stevenson held off Mundelein 11-3 to advance to the semifinal round. Robbie O'Brien also recorded 7 saves in the victory for the Patriots. Art Kasemets and Jason Rehor each tallied one score apiece for Mundelein, while goalie Jakub Sierzputowski made 14 saves and also scored a goal in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Wheeling 12 Buffalo Grove 10

Cory Perlman scored 3 times and Austin Ihde, Dan Shriber, and Lukasz Szczpaniec each netted 2 goals as Wheeling beat Buffalo Grove 12-10 in a see-saw battle on Wednesday night. Noah Ihde also made 15 saves in the Wildcats' win. Ian Rodriguez led the Bison with 6 goals, while Ryan Chlopowicz put in 2 goals in the loss.

 

McHenry 20 Palatine 16

Dylan Clohessy poured in 7 goals and Lucas Matthys recorded 5 goals as McHenry pulled away from the Pirates in the fourth quarter to earn a 20-16 win. Robbie Schwartfelger also scored 4 times and Joe Peck nicked 2 goals in the winning effort for the Warriors. Christian Kalfas scored 5 times, Alex Brons tallied 4 scores, and Omar El-Hoffi netted 3 goals in the loss for Palatine.

 

Lake Forest 12 Libertyville 11 (2 OT)

Jason Woodruff's rebound goal with 1:01 left in sudden-death overtime sent Lake Forest past Libertyville 12-11 on Wednesday night. The teams traded leads throughout the game, with Adam King (LHS) and David Hayes (LFHS) trading goals in the final minute of regulation and Wildcats goalie Clayton Kullander nearly winning the game with a shot from his own end that hit the crossbar as the fourth period buzzer sounded.

 

Jason Voelker put the Wildcats ahead in the first overtime period, but John Baker evened things up in the first minute of the second overtime session, and neither team could grab the advantage to setup a third overtime period and a sudden-death situation. Woodruff's heroics came two minutes into the overtime period, sending the Scouts to the semifinals to face McHenry on Friday night.

 

Baker led Lake Forest with 5 goals, Woddruff netted 3 scores, and David Hayes and Colin Rowe both put in 2 goals in the winning effort. Adam Keefe led Libertyville with 5 scores and Adam King tallied 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

SCHAUMBURG SECTIONAL

Fremd 20 Prospect 4

JP French scored 10 goals, Ryan Helsdingen netted 4 goals, and Andre Degla notched 3 scores as Fremd defeated Prospect 20-4. Liam Hansen scored 3 times in the losing effort for the Knights.

 

Hoffman 20 Hersey 4

Mike Desider registered 4 scores Adam Pasnicki, Adam Tepperman, Nick Jessee, Sang Han, and Stephen Jatich all netted 3 scores as Hoffman rolled to a 20-4 victory over Hersey. Logan Gizel also recorded 19 saves in the Hawks' win.

 

Schaumburg 16 Barrington 6

Randy Carr scored 6 times and Marty Kwiatkowski and Matt McMullen each added 3 scores as SHS beat Barrington 16-6 on Wednesday. James Rodney nicked 2 goals in the loss for the Broncos.

 

Conant 22 Elk Grove 6

Alan Wojciechowski tallied 6 goals to lead Conant past Elk Grove 22-6. Marek Burtan led the Grenadiers with 4 goals in the loss.

 

STAGG SECTIONAL

Sandburg 19 Mt Carmel 2

Mike Malecki allowed just 2 goals as Sandburg got past Mt Carmel 19-2 on Wednesday.

 

Brother Rice 19 Shepard 3

Mike Mulcrone netted 6 goals and both Dan Birmingham and Mitch Strahlman tallied 3 scores as Brother Rice defeated Shepard 19-3. Dave Jackson, Kevin Mayer, and Ian Disteldorf each notched 6 scores in the winning effort, while goalie Nate Mrozek stopped 6 shots for the Crusaders.

 

UIC SECTIONAL

St Ignatius 13 Von Steuben 8

Brayden Amendola and Jesus Juarez scored 3 goals apiece and both Billy Barth and Jaime Juarez netted 2 goals in the Wolfpack's 13-8 quarterfinal round win over Von Steuben.

 

YORK SECTIONAL

Fenwick 21 R-B 7

The defending champions raced out to a 7-1 lead in the opener quarter and never looked back in a 21-7 victory over R-B on Wednesday. Viken Huening scored 5 times and Jimmy Mullen and Matt Bresnahan each tallied 3 scores for the Friars, while goalie Tommy McGuire made 8 saves and blocked a penalty shot. Jon Moron and Victor Mezera each tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Bulldogs.
