Emma Gelberg scored 4 goals, Danni Cole scored 3 times and Abbey Hodges
made 11 saves as the Lady Giants got past Deerfield 10-4. Natalie
Gelberg put in 2 scores and Molly Solem scored once in the win.
Katherine Rogers scored 2 goals in the loss for the Warriors.
Maine West 10 Glenbrook South 8
Kristen Burger scored 4 goals and Anastasiya Sahayda tallied 3
scores to help lead the Warriors past GBS 10-8 in the CPS
quarterfinals. Annie Schertler, Annie Picchiotti and Sara Johnson
each added one goal for the winners. Maddie McMillin scored 5 goals
and Kelly Klish netted 2 scores in the losing effort.
Evanston 6 Highland Park 4
Riley Hughes scored the game-winning goal early in the fourth quarter
and later added a key insurance goal as the Wildkits fought off a strong
challenge from Highland Park to emerge with a 6-4 win on Friday.
Evanston led 4-1 at the half but second half goals from Natalie Gelberg
and Danni Cole helped the Lady Giants get to within one score of the
Wildkits. Hughes scored in the final minute to seal the victory. Becca
Schumm, Christina Schumm, Lana Wolff and Stephanie Sheikh each scored
once in the win. Molly Solem and Emma Gelberg also scored one goal in
the loss for HPHS.
Highland Park 8 Maine West 6
Emma Gelberg scored 4 goals, Arianne Cole netted 2 scores and both Danni
Cole and Fiona Zhang tallied one score as the Lady Giants beat Maine
West 8-6 in the third place game of the CSL Tournament. Kristen Burger
scored 4 times in the loss for the Warriors.
New Trier 9 Evanston 3
Lauren Barrett recorded 6 goals to lead the Trevians to a 9-3 win over
Evanston in the CSL Tournament title game.
