TOURNAMENT RECAP (May 3-4)
Tournament Preview
The Lions look to repeat as West Suburban Conference champions, but
they will likely face a handful of challenges from the likes of Hinsdale
Central, Oak Park, York, Hinsdale South, or Morton. The Huskies take on
Hinsdale South on Friday, with the winner meeting Hinsdale Central on
Saturday morning. In the other quarterfinal round game, York does battle
with Morton for the opportunity to play the defending champs on Saturday
morning in the first semifinal. The tournament concludes with the
championship game on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm.

Friday, May 3
Oak Park 12 Hinsdale South 8
Mark Hallman totaled 4 goals and Lee Werner scored 3 times in the Huskies'
12-8 win over Hinsdale South on Friday. Nathan Pimentel also scored 2
goals in the win for Oak Park. Ryan O'Toole scored 4 times and Matt
Dejewski added 3 scores in the loss for the Hornets.
York 22 Morton 9
Patrick McKenna scored 6 goals and Nick Salek recorded 5 goals in York's
22-9 win over Morton on Friday night in Elmhurst. Alex Waldherr and Joe
Kesslering each added 3 scores and both Billy Delaney and Tim Matsas
scored 2 times in the Dukes' victory.
Saturday, May 4
Lyons 15 York 5
Joe Shannon scored 5 goals, Josh Hirt totaled 3 scores, and the trio of
Jack Patel, Nathan Kriha, and Peter Dore each scored 2 goals in LT's 15-5
semifinal victory over York. Tommy Kaptur also scored once in the win for
the Lions. Patrick McKenna tallied 2 scores and Alex Waldherr, Nick Salek,
and Wil Hubert all put in one goal for the Dukes.
Hinsdale Central 10 Oak Park 8
Alex Cruz racked up 4 goals and Brogan O'Doherty netted 2 scores as the
Red Devils held off Oak Park 10-8 in the second WSC semifinal on Saturday.
Kyle Patnode and Mark Hallman both scored 2 goals in the losing effort for
the Huskies.
Lyons 21 Hinsdale Central 9 (1st place)
Peter Dore recorded 7 goals and both Joe Shannon and Josh Hirt totaled 4
goals as Lyons beat Hinsdale Central 21-9 in the title game of the West
Suburban Conference tournament. Michael Dow added 3 goals in the Lions'
victory. George Koulouris scored 5 goals and Brogan O'Doherty netted 3
goals in the loss for the Red Devils.
