TOURNAMENT RECAP (May 4)
Tournament Preview
The girls' version of the Stevenson Tournament
features three top ten teams and four teams overall that have their sights
set fine tuning things for the postseason. Lincoln-Way Central, Naperville
Central, and Neuqua Valley join the host Patriots for a six-game event
that alternates games with the boys' teams in Lincolnshire on Saturday.

Stevenson 8
Naperville Central 2
Alex Kanaris scored 5 times and Allison Travetto, Jenna Oliver, and
Melissa Gartenberg each scored once as Stevenson started their own event
with an 8-2 win over the Redhawks. Leslie Calabrese and Sarah Borton each
scored one goal in the loss for Central.
Lincoln-Way Central 6 Naperville Central 2
Danijela Jackovich recorded 4 goals in the Knights' 6-2 victory over
Naperville Central. Kim Bernhard and Liz Klock each added one score in the
win for Central. Michelle Spaits tallied both goals in the loss for the
Redhawks.
Naperville Central 10
Neuqua Valley 5
Kaela Codo and
Michelle Spaits each scored 3 times and Jenny Doyle
added 2 goals in Central's 10-5 win over Neuqua Valley. Brooke Bedford and
Morgan Miller each put in 2 goals in the loss for Neuqua.
Stevenson 10 Lincoln-Way Central 9 (OT)
Melissa Gartenberg scored the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime
to lift the Patriots over LWC 10-9 on Saturday. Alex Kanaris scored 4
goals, Gartenberg tallied 3 scores, and Allison Travetto put in 2 scores
in the win. Danijela Jackovich notched 7 goals and both Delaney Shepard
and Kristi Howe added one goal in the losing effort.
Lincoln-Way Central 9 Neuqua Valley 8
Danijela Jackovich recorded 5 goals and Delaney Shepard netted 2 scores as
the Knights topped Neuqua Valley 9-8 on Saturday. Kim Bernhard and Kristi
Howe each added one goal for the victors. Deanna Hoff, Brooke Bedford,
Kaitlyn Gorski, and Morgan Miller each scored 2 goals in the narrow loss
for Neuqua.
Stevenson 8 Neuqua Valley 3
Alex Kanaris registered 4 goals, Allison Travetto netted 2 scores, and
both Melissa Gartenberg and Jenna Oliver scored once in Stevenson's 8-3
victory over Neuqua Valley. Brooke Bedford totaled 2 scores and Morgan
Miller added one goal in the loss for the Wildcats.
