Lyons Stuns Fenwick To Win
Stevenson Tournament
Peter Dore scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds of regulation as
Lyons beat Fenwick 6-5 to end the Friars 82-game winning streak. The Lions also
beat Brother Rice in the championship round to finish the weekend with a 4-0
record. Fenwick bounced back to beat the Crusaders 16-9 in the last game of the
weekend.
The hosts claimed fourth place, as they earned a one-goal win over New Trier and
edged OPRF 10-7. The Trevians won the fifth place game over the Huskies 16-7.
Naperville Central beat both Mundelein and Palatine to win the seventh-place
group, while the Pirates got their lone win of the weekend by beating the

Friday's Game Recaps
Fenwick 15 Mundelein 3
Matt Farmer put in 3 goals and Dan Kelly, Dan Sullivan, Matt Bresnahan,
Rich Mueller, and Tom Osmolak each scored 2 times as Fenwick knocked off
Mundelein 15-3. Tommy McGuire also made 8 saves in the Fenwick win. Jason
Rehor, Matt Marcotte, and Mike Begrowicz each tallied one score in the
loss for the Mustangs.
Lyons 12 Oak Park 6
Peter Dore totaled 4 scores, Joe Shannon scored 3 goals, and Kovas Zygas
and Sean McMahon each added 2 goals as the Lions beat Oak Park 12-6. Mark
Hallman tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Huskies.
Brother Rice 22 Palatine 11
Kevin Mayer recorded 8 goals and Mike Mulcrone added 4 scores in the
Crusaders' 22-11 victory over Palatine. Ian Disteldorf and Matt Becker
also tallied 3 scores apeice in the winning effort. Krystian Kalev scored
5 times and Alex Brons and Omar El-Hoffi both netted 2 scores in the
losing effort for the Pirates.
Fenwick 15 New Trier 8
Matt Farmer poured in 5 goals, Viken Huening recorded 4 scores, and Dan
Kelly posted 3 goals as the Friars advanced to the championship round
after beating the Trevians 15-8. Matt Bresnahan also put in 2 scores and
Tommy McGuire made 8 saves in the Fenwick win. for Fenwick. Jordan Palmer
tallied 4 scores and Joey Ryan netted 2 goals in the loss for NT.
Lyons 11 Naperville Central 6
Josh Hirt scored 4 times and Joe Shannon put in 3 goals as the Lions advanced to the championship round by earning an 11-6 victory
over Naperville Central. Peter Dore also notched 2 scores in the LT win.
Matt Reasons tallied 3 scores in the losing cause for Central.
Brother Rice 10 Stevenson 9
Kevin Mayer registered 5 scores as the Crusaders held off the host
Patriots 10-9 in the final game of the evening on Friday. Chris Hodges
totaled 3 scores and Mitchell Sokolsky added 2 goals in the loss.

New Trier 14 Mundelein 5
Jordan Palmer registered 5 goals in the Trevians' 14-5 triumph over
Mundelein.
Oak Park 7 Naperville Central 6
Troy Williams netted 3 scores as the Huskies defeated Naperville Central
7-6. Dennis Herron totaled 4 goals in the loss for the Redhawks.
Stevenson 18 Palatine 7
Chris Hodges scored 4 goals and both Alex Shkiler and Kyle Plotsky chipped
in with 3 goals in the hosts' 18-7 victory over Palatine. Christian Kalfas
netted 3 goals and Krystian Kelev scored 2 times in the loss.
Naperville Central 12 Mundelein 4
Dennis Herron poured in 5 goals to lead the Redhawks to a 12-4 triumph
over Mundelein. Matt Marcotte led the Mustangs with 2 scores in the losing
cause.
New Trier 16 Oak Park 7
Jordan Palmer scored 4 times, Jacob Dray added 3 scores, and Jason Bartha
netted 2 goals as New Trier knocked off Oak Park 16-7. Troy Williams led
the Huskies with 2 goals.
Lyons 6 Fenwick 5
Peter Dore scored the game-winning goal from seven-meters out with :02
left in regulation as the Lions stunned Fenwick 6-5 on Saturday afternoon.
The Friars led 3-2 at halftime, but LT battled back to even the score at
5-5 entering the final period of play. Neither team could find the net
throughout the last quarter until Dore's shot handed Fenwick their first
loss.
Joe Shannon and Kovas Zygas each scored 2 times in the win, while Josh
Hirt and Dore also added goals for Lyons. Matt Farmer led the Friars with
3 goals, while Dan Kelly and Tony Perez also scored once in the losing
effort.
Naperville Central 14 Palatine 7
Dennis Herron and Matt Reasons each tallied 4 scores as Naperville Central
beat Palatine 14-7. Christian Kalfas led the Pirates with 4 scores in the
losing effort.
Stevenson 10 Oak Park 7
Kyle Plotsky registered 3 scores and Alex Shkiler and Chris Hodges both
tallied 2 goals in the Patriots' 10-7 triumph over Oak Park. Alex Darnall
and Troy Williams each scored 2 times in the losing effort.
Lyons 15 Brother Rice 8
Joe Shannon totaled 6 goals and Peter Dore netted 3 scores as Lyons won
the Stevenson Tournament by beating Brother Rice 15-8. Josh Hirt, Kovas
Zygas, and Sean McMahon each tallied 2 scores in the Lions' victory. Kevin
Mayer scored 5 times in the loss for the Crusaders.
Palatine 15 Mundelein 13
Christian Kalfas scored 6 goals to lead Palatine to a 15-13 win over
Mundelein. Jason Rehor scored 8 times in the loss for the Mustangs.
Stevenson 11 New Trier 10
Hasan Khan recorded 3 goals and Chris Hodges, Evan Woodward, Mitchell
Sokolsky, and Tayler Baretz all notched 2 scores as Stevenson edged New
Trier 11-10 to finish in fourth place at their own event. Jordan Palmer
scored 4 times and Nate Urban added 3 goals in the loss for the Trevians.
Fenwick 16 Brother Rice 9
Dan Kelly and Matt Farmer both scored 3 times and Matt Bresnahan, Rich
Mueller, and Trevor McLean each added 2 goals as Fenwick closed out the
Stevenson Tournament with a 16-9 victory over Brother Rice.
