The Lions continued their strong late-season surge as they earned a convincing 18-4 win over Naperville North on Tuesday. Sam Szczepaniak recorded 5 goals, George Lundgren and Ryan Hammond each put in 3 scores and Nick Rosenberger stopped 17 shots in the winning effort. Ben Eszias and Victor Perez both added 2 goals while Adam Cardone, Armin Korsos and Phil Smith all scored once for the victors. Cole Jacobs scored 2 goals while Charlie Calvo and Matt Magee each scored once in the loss for the Huskies.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

Stevenson 15 Fenwick 8

The Patriots went on the road to earn a 15-8 victory over Fenwick. Stats for the winners possibly coming soon. Mickey McGuire scored 4 goals, Tommy Martino notched 2 scores and David Francisco stopped 5 shots in the losing effort. Chez Daggs and Ramses Flores both added one goal as well for the Friars.

DLS 14 Jones-Payton 8

Shane Nagle recorded 6 goals and Josh Macias made 10+ saves as the Meteors earned a 14-8 win over Jones-Payton. Alex Cruz, Lucas Gawron, Kevin Cranston and Nestor Carbajal also contributed to the win for DLS on Senior Night.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 15 Bradley 3

Cody Kolbus scored 5 goals, Matt Klock registered 3 scores and Jake Burke blocked 8 shots to help the Knights claim a 15-3 win over Bradley. Dylan Sterling also scored 2 times in the win for Central.

 

Loyola 9 Lockport 5

Michael Considine notched 3 scores and both Larkin Flanagan and Matt Merucci each scored 2 times as the Ramblers beat Lockport 9-5. Chris Jovanovich and Max Ashurst also scored one goal apiece in the win for the hosts.

 

Maine West 9 Lane 6

Brendan Atwood and Richie Sevic both scored 3 goals to lead the Warriors past Lane 9-6.

 

Oak Park 9 Hinsdale Central 6

Lawrence Cozzi totaled 4 goals, Leo Manola scored 3 times and Kevin Obrecht made 9 saves as OPRF got past Hinsdale Central 9-6. Dan Franklin and Thomas Wolfe each added one goal for the victors.

 

Sandburg 13 Homewood-Flossmoor 4

Marty Blake recorded 4 goals and Joey Jenkot added 3 scores in the Eagles' 13-4 win over H-F. Travis Tanner scored 2 goals, both Johnny Schmidt and Max Dunlavy scored once and Luke Santefort blocked 14 shots in the loss for the Vikings.

 

Stagg 16 Lincoln-Way East 15 (OT)

Tommy Witek connected on a lob shot with two seconds left in overtime to send the Chargers past LWE 16-15 on Tuesday. Witek totaled 8 goals and 7 steals and Olaf Wrzesinski scored 4 times as the Chargers got past LWE 16-15 in overtime on Tuesday night. Lucas Smiarowski made 9 steals in the winning effort for Stagg. Andrew Brozovic scored 5 goals in the loss for the Griffins.

 

St Viator 10 Vernon Hills 7

Dante Cerone and Mitchell Warren both scored 3 goals and Michael Ruben put in 2 scores to help the Lions get past Vernon Hills 10-7 on Tuesday night. Tim Bansfield made 7 saves and both Ethan Johnson and Michael Baker tallied one score in the winning effort.

 

Wheeling 10 Buffalo Grove 3

Nate Reiff totaled 6 goals, Jake Noel scored 2 times and both Jorge Figueroa and Kyle Noel tallied one score as Wheeling defeated BG 10-3 to claim the MSL East title. Ryan Lawson scored 2 goals and Eid Shahatit added one score in the loss for the Bison, who finished in second place in the division.

Stevenson 11 St Ignatius 8

Allison Travetto scored 7 goals, Claire Haas scored 4 times and Lauren Burns made 13 saves to help the Patriots earn an 11-8 home victory over St Ignatius. Diana Fernandez totaled 4 goals, Brianna Gist and Stephania Lopez both registered 2 scores and Jenny Stelnicki stopped 10 shots in the loss for the 'Pack.

 

 

MATCH OF THE DAY II

Mother McAuley 7 Naperville Central 5

UPDATE I: Claire Mueller and Jill Mueller both scored once in the first half and the McAuley defense did not allow a goal in the first two periods as the Mighty Macs lead Naperville Central 2-0 at the break.

 

UPDATE II: The Redhawks put together a 4-0 run in the third quarter to take a 4-3 lead late in the period, but the Mighty Macs drew even by the end of the quarter. The teams enter the final period tied at 4-4.

 

UPDATE III: The Mighty Macs outscored the hosts 3-1 in the fourth quarter to emerge with a 7-5 victory on Tuesday. Jill Mueller totaled 4 goals and the trio of Claire Mueller, Erin Breakey and Paulina Correa all scored once in the win for the visitors. Emily Westlove and Kaela Codo both registered 2 scores and Faith Vandercar made 11 saves in the loss for the Redhawks.

Barrington 15 Metea Valley 8

Isabella Rojas netted 4 goals, Andrea Potgieter scored 3 times and Ellie Connors totaled 8 saves and 8 assists as the Fillies defeated Metea Valley 15-8. Alyssa Schmidts, Mia Latimer and Nicole Runtz all put in 2 goals while Emily Schulze and Heidi Pallan both scored once for the winners. Alex Cerra scored 4 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Conant 11 STC North 4

Sam Wooley recorded 3 goals and Cam Rosas stopped 15 shots in the Cougars' 11-4 victory over STC North. Lea Cejvan, Nia Tsoulos and Olivia Konieczny each added one goal in the win for Conant. Monica Guyett totaled 2 goals and 8 steals and both Brittany Veto and Sarah Gibson scored once in the loss for the North Stars.

 

Elk Grove 9 Maine East 2

Lilly Lawrin notched 3 scores and both Kaylee Hatfield and Lindsey Hendren scored 2 times to help the Grenadiers earn a 9-2 victory over Maine East. Jessica Deering also made 12 saves for the winners.

 

Evanston 8 Loyola 6

Giselle Figueroa scored 2 goals and five other players (Becca Schumm, Emma Stein, Lauren Hays, Mira Ortegon, Stephanie Sheikh) scored once as the Wildkits held off Loyola 8-6 on Tuesday. Claire Voss put in 3 goals, Kristen Bagley scored 2 times and Lauren Voss tallied one score in the loss for the Ramblers.

 

Lake Forest 9 Glenbrook North 4

Grace Donahue scored 4 goals and Allison Maijke tallied 2 scores in the Scouts' 9-4 win over GBN. Alyssa Hollander, Giselle Striedenger and Madaleine Pompe each added one goal in the winning effort. Patti Grod scored 4 times in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 10 Bradley 7

Cailey Davern registered 6 goals and Ava Zirgaitis, Erin Muellerschoen, Kim Bernhard and Sam Schletz each scored once in the Knights' 10-7 triumph over Bradley.

 

Lincoln-Way North 16 Lincoln-Way West 4

Cassidy Degraff totaled 7 goals and 5 assists and Julia Porco scored 5 times as the Phoenix knocked off LWW 16-4. Jess Larson added 3 goals and Caitlin Nelson scored once in the win for North.

 

Naperville North 8 Lyons 7

Taylor Wessel recorded 3 goals and both Caitlin Holzer and Isabelle Rocco scored 2 times as the Huskies fended off Lyons 8-7 on Tuesday. Alli Horn also scored one goal in the win for North. Annika Moore and Kaysie Stuba each tallied 2 scores and the trio of Claudia Lundgren, Maddie Cordell and Victoria Guevara each scored once in the loss for the Lions. Madie Janik also made 6 saves in the loss for LT.

 

Oak Park 12 Hinsdale Central 5

Genevieve Curry totaled 6 goals and 8 steals and Kaitlyn Peterson made 13 saves as the Huskies topped Hinsdale Central 12-5. Chloe Pimentel netted 2 goals while Greta Drane, Julia Thomason, Tamsen Cronin, Kevan Casson and Jilly Cronin,  each scored once in the win for OPRF. Cronin also totaled 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners.

 

Sandburg 12 Homewood-Flossmoor 3

Madison Stuursma and Vaia Makris both recorded 3 goals and Morgan Bartelment made 17 saves as the Eagles outscored the Vikings 6-0 in the second half to secure a 12-3 victory over H-F. Tara Maher added 2 scores while Mara O'Connor, Daniel Satler, Bella Wrobel and Clare Lawlor each scored once in the win. Brooke Pair netted 2 scores and Alexis Anderson scored once in the loss for the Vikings.

 

York 14 Northside 4

Isabelle Gil tallied 3 scores to help lead the Dukes past Northside 14-4 in a nonconference contest. Carli York and Marisa Logan each scored 2 goals while Aillee Orzak, Amalia Siavelis, Grace Achepohl, Maria Rantis, Maggie Schlect and Mary Phelps all scored once in the win for the hosts.
