The top-ranked Friars play host to the Redhawks in a rematch of last year's state title game. This is the first time the teams have met since Fenwick earned 10-7 win to claim their second straight state title last May.

Both the Eagles and T-Bolts need a win in order to remain in their respective conference title races; the Eagles trail LWC by one game in the SWSC Red division, while Andrew is one less behind Lincoln-Way North in the SWSC Blue.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Palatine 13 York 12

Kristian Kalev scored 4 times, both Alex Brons and Christian Kalfas netted 3 scores, and Peter Blackham denied 20 shots as Palatine held off York 13-12 on Wednesday. Omar El Hoffi added 2 scores and Wally Kleinfeldt notched one score for the victors. Alex Waldherr led the Dukes with 5 goals in the losing effort.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Glenbrook South 13 Evanston 9 (OT)

Jake Nelson scored 4 goals and Brant Boczek and Seamus Heneghan each scored 3 times as GBS earned a 13-9 overtime victory over Evanston in a CSL contest. Cole Hamilton, Danny Correa, and Matt Durkin each put in one score in the Titans' win. The victors outscored Evanston 4-0 in the extra session. Liam O'Connor tallied 4 scores and Judah Anolick added 2 goals in the loss for the Wildkits.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 16 Shepard 9

Alex McCormick and Conor McGowan each scored 4 goals and both Jake Muellerschoen and Ryan Sterling recorded 2 goals in the Knights' 16-9 victory over Shepard.

 

Neuqua Valley 13 Lincoln-Way East 1

Alex Thoele recorded 6 goals and Will Russell totaled 8 saves and added a goal in Neuqua Valley's 13-1 win over LWE.

 

Oak Park 11 STC East 8

Kyle Patnode and Nathan Pimentel each scored 3 times and Mark Hallman netted 2 scores in the Huskies' 11-8 victory over STC East.

 

Sandburg 12 Andrew 6

Zach Roper netted 5 goals and Kevin Tunney notched 3 scores in the Eagles' 12-6 victory over Andrew. Eric Tamulonis recorded 3 goals and 7 steals and Chuck Walters put in 2 goals in the T-Bolts' loss.

 

St Ignatius 12 Lane 7

Billy Barth tallied 3 scores and Gunter Glaab scored 2 times as the Wolfpack beat Lane 12-7.

Cara Borkovec and Colleen Barron combined to score 6 goals as the Friars defeated Naperville Central 14-6 on Wednesday night. Kaela Codo scored 2 goals and Jenny Doyle, Kristina Altuve, Leslie Calabrese, and Madison Nervig each scored once in the loss.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Elk Grove 13 Meadows 6

Christine Juhas scored 5 times and Kellie Franke blocked 17 shots as Elk Grove defeated Meadows 13-6. Alexa Zajac, Angelica Ford, and Carly Hirschauer each scored 2 goals in the win. Jessica Dykstra tallied 4 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Hinsdale Central 18 Richards 7

Sarah Pircon registered 7 goals and Liza Gross put in 4 scores to lead the Red Devils past Richards 18-7.

 

Lockport 15 Hinsdale South 3

Christine Bafia recorded 5 goals and Megan Cavanaugh registered 4 scores to lead the Porters to a 15-3 nonconference victory over Hinsdale South.

 

Maine West 14 Resurrection 7

Carly Romano scored 5 goals and Sarah Godawa and Tara Woodford totaled 18 saves as the Warriors outscored the Bandits 9-2 in the second half to break a 5-5 tie and emerge with a 14-7 victory. Emily Morrison, Kara Atwood, Holly Wasicak, and Zoe Levonyak each added 2 goals in the win for West.

 

Oak Park 4 Whitney Young 3

Katie Appell scored 2 goals and Jordin Hale and Zoe Erickson combined to save 13 shots as the Huskies held the Dolphins scoreless in the final period to emerge with a 4-3 nonconference victory. Jessie Cronin scored 2 times, Gabby Chelette added one goal, and Nya Wilkins totaled 9 blocks and 6 steals in the loss for Whitney Young.

 

Palatine 6 STC North 3

Rachel Chumbook scored 5 goals, Caroline Wojtas added one score, and Kim Butler stopped 10 shots in the Pirates' 6-3 victory over STC North. Sarah Stern scored 2 goals, Maddie Jones notched one score, and Hannah Horsfall made 12 saves in the loss for the North Stars.

 

R-B 10 Northside 6

Caitlin Parisi blocked 12 shots to help limit the Northside offense as R-B earned a 10-6 victory over the Mustangs.

 

Sandburg 10 Andrew 5

Brittany Kamper and Sarah Dolitsky both tallied 3 scores and Cara Hays put in 2 goals as Sandburg beat Andrew 10-5. Maggie Foley also chipped in with a goal in the winning effort for the Eagles. Megan Hofer scored 3 times, Alicia Tebo and Annamarie Lettiere each scored once, and Anna Tamulonis blocked 16 shots in the loss for the T-Bolts.

 

York 13 Hoffman 11

Carly Redmond scored 10 times and Abby Ries made 10 saves to help York beat Hoffman 13-11.
