MATCH OF THE DAY
Lyons 14 Neuqua Valley 10
The fourth-ranked Lions successfully defended their home turf by beating
#5 Neuqua Valley 14-10 on Thursday night. George Lundgren led the Lions'
offense with 6 scores while both Sam Szczepaniak and Thomas Waters
notched 2 goals in the win. Meanwhile, Tommy Kaptur drew 5 ejections and
did not allow a goal from set on the defensive end for the victors. Simon Shatinsky
put in 4 goals and Joey Dalesandro
totaled 3 goals and 5 steals in the loss for the Wildcats. Ian Ivkovich,
Lucas Becker and Scott DePuy also scored one goal apiece for Neuqua.
OTHER KEY GAMES
Lockport 10 Lincoln-Way Central 6
Eric Johnson and Joey Tomczuk each netted 3 goals and Pat Melaniphy
saved 13 shots to help the Porters get past LWC 10-6. Eric Krawczyk
also scored 2 goals while Eric Johnson and Zach Elias each tallied
one score in the win. Matt Klock scored 3 goals, Pat Burke netted 2
scores and Jake Burke made 14 saves and blocked a penalty shot in
the loss. Cody Kolbus also scored once in the losing effort.
Maine West 11 Libertyville 4
Brendan Atwood tallied 7 goals and Tony Connor scored 2 times as the
Warriors knocked off Libertyville 11-4. Ethan Herrera and Julian
Hernandez each added one score in the victory.
Stagg 17 Andrew 4
Zack Amendola recorded 7 goals and Nick Amendola scored 4 times as
the Chargers earned a 17-4 win over Andrew. Evan Johnson blanketed
the T-Bolts' offense with a strong defensive performance in the hole
and also scored 2 times on the other end while Lane Holin blocked 12
shots for the winners. Dan Cavato totaled 4 goals in the loss for
Andrew.
York 9 STC North 5
Alex Marlott, Ben Howlett, Jordan Jopes and Parker Hicks each scored
2 goals to help the Dukes get past STC North 9-5. Jack Williams,
John Quinn, Jon Gallee, Nathan Bawolek and Ryan Helfers each netted
one score in the loss for the North Stars.

Fenwick 8 Naperville Central 4
The Friars went on a late-game 3-0 run to pull away from the Redhawks to
earn an 8-4 nonconference victory on Thursday in Oak Park. Catie Wallace
totaled 4 goals, Kelly Frumkin scored 2 times and Anna Sullivan made 11
saves in the winning effort. Clare Durkin and Shannon Forst each added
one score as well for the victors. Kaela Codo netted 2 goals and totaled
8 steals while Faith Vandercar made 12 saves in the loss for the
visitors. Alli Hansen and Emily Rodgers also tallied one score apiece
for Central.

Lake Forest 6 Hersey 5
Abby Warren recorded 4 goals and both Olivia Warsek and Madeleine
Pompe notched one score as the Scouts held off Hersey 6-5. Caleigh
O'Neil led the Huskies with 3 goals while Liz Niersbach and
Mackenzie Karman both scored once in the loss.

Caroline Walsh scored 6 goals and both Erin Yang and Julia Cohen
scored 2 times in the Lions 11-6 win over Neuqua Valley. Kaysie
Stuba added one score, Walsh drew 4 ejections and totaled 4 steals
while Cohen dished out 3 assists for the victors. Zoe Salafatinos
recorded 3 goals, Morgan Miller scored 2 times and Issi French made
14 saves in the losing effort.
Northside 15 Whitney Young 7
Marti Hale registered 8 scores and Fallon Konow blocked 8 shots as
the Mustangs downed the Dolphins 15-7 on Thursday night. Heather
Walker and Jessica Skipper each added 4 goals in the win. Fairie
Hughes netted 4 scores in the loss for Young.
Sandburg 13 Bradley 5
Sarah Dolitsky totaled 5 goals and 4 assists and Morgan Bartelment
saved 11 shots as the Eagles topped Bradley 13-5. Mara O'Connor, Mia
Robin and Stephanie Pappas each netted 2 goals while both Trisha
Mangila and Katie Flaherty scored once in the Sandburg win.
STC North 6 York 5
Katie Difiglio recorded 4 goals and both Brittany Veto and Katie
Quinn each scored once to help the North Stars edge York 6-5. Monica
Guyett added 3 assists and 3 steals while Claire Rich made 6 saves
in the win.
