THURSDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#20 Schaumburg at #15 Palatine

The Saxons need a win to stay alive in the MSL West title race when they head to Palatine on Thursday, while the Pirates can clinch the regular season title and an invitation to the Mid-Suburban League title game with a win. Plenty to play for in this one...

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#16 New Trier at #31 Evanston - The Trevians are fresh off a win over Glenbrook South and are looking for another big win to keep them in the CSL title race in 2010. Evanston could use a win to get them back on track after a tough loss to Loyola on Tuesday.

#4 Lyons at #28 Neuqua Valley - The Lions will look to bounce back from a tough loss to #6 Latin on Tuesday when they travel to Naperville to take on Neuqua on Thursday evening. The Wildcats have been steadily improving and would like nothing more than a big win in front of their home crowd.

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#3 St Ignatius at #2 Naperville Central

Two potential state title contenders do battle in Naperville on Thursday when St Ignatius goes to Naperville to take on the Redhawks on Thursday night. This is about as evenly-matched as two teams can get during the regular season, so expect a heated battle between the teams on Thursday.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#14 Latin at #4 Fenwick - The Romans enjoy playing low-scoring, defensive-type games, so they should provide a strong challenge for #4 Fenwick on Thursday night when the team's meet in Oak Park in a nonconference affair.

#20 Evanston at #12 New Trier - The Wildkits and Trevians face off in a battle of undefeated teams in the Central Suburban League; the winner claims the regular season title when the teams meet in Winnetka on Thursday.

#26 Neuqua Valley at #1 Lyons - The Lions will look to stay undefeated when they play host to Neuqua Valley on Thursday.
