New Trier Eludes GBS And Naperville North
To Win Tournament
New Trier held off a late rally from Naperville North to earn a 9-8
victory and also defeated the hosts 13-10 in the championship round to
claim the GBS Tournament title for the 2012 season. Jordan Palmer was
named the MVP of the event, totaling 17 goals in the Trevians' 4-0 run
through the weekend. The Huskies edged GBS 9-8 in the tournament's final
game to finish in second place behind Eric Curia's 19-goal performance
over the weekend. Lake Forest defeated Libertyville and Evanston to win
the fourth-place group, while Palatine topped Hersey and Prospect in the
seventh-place group.
