Schaumburg 10 McHenry 9
The Saxons built a 5-3 halftime lead and held off the Warriors the rest of
the way to earn a hard-fought 10-9 victory on Saturday. Randy Carr scored
5 goals and Marty Kwiatkowski notched 2 scores in the Saxons' win. Dylan Clohessy
scored 5 times and both Joe Peck and Robbie Schwertferger each put in 2
scores for McHenry in the loss.
STC North 18 Lincoln-Way West 6
Joey Chokran scored 7 goals and Eli Broxham blocked 13 shots as the North
Stars defeated LWW 18-6. Kyle Gannon and John Pretet also combined to
score 7 times in the winning effort. Chokran also broken the single-season
scoring record for STC North, scoring his 118th goal of the season in the
victory.

TOURNAMENT
Brother Rice Edges Loyola
To Win Tournament
The Crusaders
got back on track over the weekend, posting a 4-0 mark by beating HC, Sandburg,
St Patrick, and Loyola to claim their own tournament title. Ian Disteldorf
scored the game-winning goal in the final minute to send Brother Rice past
Loyola 11-10 in the event's title game. Meanwhile, Latin beat Sandburg for third
place, Lockport fended off Hinsdale Central in the fifth-place game, and St

Friars Dominate Week
7 Tournament
The defending champions earned three double-digit wins on Saturday over
Oak Park, Mundelein, and NC to finish their own event with a perfect
record. Central went 2-1 to finish in second position, while the Huskies

TOURNAMENT
New Trier Eludes GBS And Naperville North
To Win Tournament
New Trier held off a late rally from Naperville North to earn a 9-8
victory and also defeated the hosts 13-10 in the championship round to
claim the GBS Tournament title for the 2012 season. Jordan Palmer was
named the MVP of the event, totaling 17 goals in the Trevians' 4-0 run
through the weekend. The Huskies edged GBS 9-8 in the event's final
game to finish in second place after Eric Curia's 19-goal performance
over the weekend. Lake Forest defeated Libertyville and Evanston to win
the fourth-place group, while Palatine beat Hersey and Prospect in the
seventh-place group.

NEUQUA VALLEY TOURNAMENT
Wildcats Cruise To Own Tournament Title
Kevin Patterson and Robert Vechiola combined to score 25 goals to
lead Neuqua Valley to wins over Bradley, Maine South, and Metea
Valley en route to the Wildcats winning their own tournament. The other three
teams each finished with 1-2 records in the Saturday-only event.
GIRLS
Lincoln-Way Central 12 Wheeling 7
Danijela Jackovich scored 4 goals and Brittany Knowlton added 3 scores as
the Knights outscored the Wildcats 8-0 in the second half to erase a
three-goal halftime deficit to win 12-7 on Saturday. Liz Clock also scored
2 times and Caroline Foglton blocked 17 shots in LWC's victory.
NAPERVILLE CENTRAL TOURNAMENT
Redhawks Roll Past Competition To Win Own Tournament
The top-ranked Redhawks earned convincing victories over Evanston,
Jenison, and Sandburg to end the weekend with a 3-0 record and their second home
tournament title this season. Sandburg finished second by earning strong wins
over Evanston and Jenison on Saturday, while the Michigan squad's win over
Evanston on Friday night gave them a third-place finish.

TOURNAMENT
Huskies Capture Tournament Title At Own Event
Naperville North broke a halftime tie with a 9-2 run to beat Whitney
Young and win their own event on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies
also beat Stagg and edged Lockport to finish with a 3-0 record. The
second-place Dolphins beat Palatine and drew with Hinsdale Central
to get to the final game. Lockport defeated Hinsdale Central for
third place and Palatine edged Stagg 18-15 in the fifth place game.

NEUQUA VALLEY TOURNAMENT
Metea and Neuqua Finish Tournament Deadlocked
Just like back in the opening week of the season, Metea Valley and
Neuqua Valley found themselves in a familiar spot at the end of
their latest game: tied. With both teams entering the last game of
the event with 2-0 records and the tournament title on the line,
the teams could not avoid the tie and concluded their match even
at 8-8. Maine South also beat Bradley earlier in the day to finish in
third place.

TOURNAMENT
New Trier Stuns Ignatius In Overtime To Win Title
Isabelle Baneaux's scored in the final minute of overtime to give New Trier a
9-8 title game win over the hosts on Saturday. The Trevians tied with Lyons
earlier in the day and advanced to the final game based on a tiebreaker, only to
suprise the Wolfpack and walk away with the tournament crown. Lyons ended the
event without a loss and a third-place finish after beating H-F 15-5. Loyola
beat BG in the fifth-game, while Marian finally earned a win by beating

STEVENSON
TOURNAMENT
Illinois Teams Finish Tourney With 11-4 Record Against Michigan Teams
Fenwick and Mother McAuley both finished the Stevenson Tournament
with perfect records, beating several of the top Michigan teams (EGR,
Okemos, Rockford) in the process. Bremen and Mundelein also went 2-1
against the out-of-state visitors, while Stevenson won the tournament opener over EGR
but lost two games on Saturday to Okemos and Rockford. In the two
late games, the Mighty Macs beat Mundelein and Stevenson topped
Bremen in normal, in-state contests.
