ST IGNATIUS TOURNAMENT

Undefeated To Claim Tournament Title
St Ignatius beat Loyola and New Trier on Friday night and added wins
over H-F and Waubonsie Valley on Saturday to end the weekend with a 4-0
record and their own tournament title. Becky Insalaco scored 16 goals and
Jenny Stelnicki played earned the majority share of two shutouts in goal
en route to the perfect weekend for SICP. Loyola and New Trier both went
3-1 to share second place; both teams lost on Friday to the hosts but did
not face each other since they already do during the regular season. Evan
Swenson and Marta Considine combined to score 26 goals for the Ramblers in
their successful run, while Alexana Astor and Lindsey Siegel each scored 7
goals to pace the Trevians, while Kelsey Willian scored a prom date via
the @illpolo Twitter account. H-F and Lyons both went 2-2 over the weekend
at UIC.
Friday's Game Recaps
Homewood-Flossmoor 6 Marian 2
Maddy Morris totaled 4 goals to help lead H-F to a 6-2 win over Marian.
Claire Duncan and Katie Seaver each added one score in the Vikings'
triumph. Paige Wieser scored both goals in the loss for the Spartans.
St Ignatius 10 New Trier 4
Diana Fernandez tallied 4 scores and Tammy Stelnicki netted 3 goals as St
Ignatius beat New Trier 10-4. Becky Insalaco added 2 goals and Rebecca
Martinez put in one goal in the winning effort for the hosts. Alexana
Astor scored 2 goals and both Kelsey Willian and Lindsey Siegel scored
once in the loss. Hannah Caywood also made 9 saves for the Trevians.
Buffalo Grove 2 Waubonsie Valley 1
Jessi Graziano and Olivia Pontarelli each scored one goal to help Buffalo
Grove get past Waubonsie Valley 2-1. Callie Fasching allowed just one goal
and led a defense that shutout the Warriors for the final three quarters
for the Bison. Molly Devine notched the lone score in the losing effort
for WVHS.
Loyola 10 Lyons 4
Evan Swenson recorded 4 goals, Marta Considine put in 3 scores, and
Allison Sajnaj registered 2 goals in Loyola's 10-4 win over Lyons. Katie
Lynch added a goal and Meredith O'Brien made 7 saves for Loyola. Blair
Hopwood, Caroline Walsh, Frankie Delleman, and Haley Hughes each scored
once in the loss for LT.
Buffalo Grove 4 Marian 4
Meg Lotzer scored with 0:42 left in regulation to help Buffalo Grove
finish in a 4-4 tie with Marian. Lotzer put in 2 goals to lead the Bison,
while Emily Amadio, Grace Van Beest, and Paige Wieser were among the scorers for the Spartans.
St Ignatius 16 Loyola 8
Becky Insalaco poured in 8 goals and Tammy Stelnicki connected on 4 shots
in the Wolfpack's 16-8 win over Loyola. Nikol Lagodzinska also scored 2
times in the win for the hosts. Marta Considine scored 5 times and Evan
Swenson netted 3 goals in the loss for the Ramblers. Meredith O'Brien also
saved 8 shots in the losing effort.

St Ignatius 9 Waubonsie Valley 0
Becky Insalaco, Diana Fernandez, and Nikol Lagodzinska each tallied
2 scores and a trio of goaltenders including Jenny Stelnicki earned
a shutout as the hosts beat Waubonsie Valley 9-0.
Lyons 6 Marian 4
Caroline Walsh and Molly McDonnell each scored 2 goals and Frankie
Delleman broke a 4-4 deadlock in the fourth period to help Lyons
fend off Marian 6-4. Paige Wieser netted 2 goals in the losing
effort for the Spartans.
Loyola 17 Waubonsie Valley 3
Marta Considine scored 5 times and Evan Swenson notched 3 scores as
Loyola defeated Waubonsie 17-3. Sam Holzschu scored all 3 goals for
the Warriors in the loss.
New Trier 10 Buffalo Grove 0
Alexana Astor recorded 4 goals, Lindsey Seigel and Kelsey Willian
both registered 2 scores, and Hannah Caywood earned a shutout in New
Trier's 10-0 win over Buffalo Grove.
Loyola 6 Homewood-Flossmoor 1
Allison Sajnaj and Evan Swenson each scored 2 times and Meredith
O'Brien saved 6 shots in Loyola's 6-1 win over H-F. Emily Barr and
Marta Considine each added one goal in the Ramblers' win. Megan
Dunlavy scored the only goal in the loss for the Vikings.
New Trier 4 Lyons 1
Alexana Astor, Kara Lucenti, Lindsey Siegel, and Samantha Padavic
each scored once as New Trier beat Lyons 4-1. Meredith Land scored
the only goal for the Lions in the losing effort.

Lyons 10 Buffalo Grove 3
Blair Hopwood scored 5 times, Julia Cohen and Molly McDonnell both
put in 2 goals, and Frankie Delleman scored once in the Lions' 10-3
victory over Buffalo Grove.
St Ignatius 12 Homewood-Flossmoor 0
Becky Insalaco scored 4 goals, Diana Fernandez and Rebecca Martinez
each scored 2 times, and Jenny Stelnicki took part in her second
shutout as the Wolfpack beat H-F 12-0.
New Trier 11 Marian 1
Lindsey Siegel netted 3 goals and both Kelsey Willian and Samatha
Padavic tallied 2 scores in New Trier's 11-1 win over Marian. Paige
Wieser scored the only lonely goal for the Spartans.
