NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

Oak Park Kinda, Sorta Wins Naperville North Tournament
Katie Appell scored 16 goals to lead the Huskies to wins over Lockport, Whitney Young, and the hosts on Saturday as OPRF posted a 3-1 record in Naperville on Saturday. However, the Huskies lost to conference foe Hinsdale Central during the day, so they finished with the same number of losses as the Red Devils and Naperville North. Those teams only played three games and finished with 2-1 records, so my math indicates that 3 is better than 2 and Oak Park wins. Otherwise, Lockport went 2-2 with wins over Hinsdale and Whitney Young and the Dolphins went 0-4 regardless of Jessie Cronin's 10-goal performance.

Katie Appell recorded 7 goals to lead Oak Park past Whitney Young 12-4. Jessie Cronin scored 3 times in the loss for the Dolphins.

Lockport 10 Hinsdale Central 6

Paige Adelman tallied 4 scores and Christine Bafia netted 3 goals in Lockport's 10-6 win over Hinsdale Central. Liza Gross scored 3 times and Sarah Pircon put in 2 scores in the loss for the Red Devils.

Oak Park 7 Naperville North 6

Katie Appell registered 4 scores and Hannah Legatze notched 2 goals in OPRF's 7-6 triumph over North. Katie Horn scored 3 times and Taylor Stoner added 2 goals in the losing effort for the hosts.

Lockport 9 Whitney Young 1

Christine Bafia put in 4 goals and both Alyssa Black and Megan Cavanaugh scored 2 times as the Porters topped Whitney Young 9-1. Jessie Cronin scored the only goal in the loss for the Dolphins.

Hinsdale Central 9 Oak Park 6

Sarah Pircon poured in 6 goals for the Red Devils as they got past Oak Park 9-6. Katie Appell led OPRF with 3 goals in the loss.

Naperville North 10 Lockport 3

Katie Horn registered 4 scores and Jillian Eiken and Taylor Stoner each put in 3 goals as the hosts beat Lockport 10-3. Ashley O'Neill, Christine Bafia, and Iza Zalesko each netted one goal in the loss for the Porters.

Hinsdale Central 10 Whitney Young 4

Sarah Pircon scored 3 goals and Liza Gross added 2 scores in Hinsdale Central's 10-4 win over Whitney Young. Jessie Cronin tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Dolphins.

Oak Park 6 Lockport 3

Katie Appell scored 2 goals and Jordin Hale and Zoe Erickson combined to make 14 saves in the Huskies' 6-3 triumph over Lockport. Ashley O'Neill, Christine Bafia, and Tiege Bellweber each netted one goal in the loss for the Porters.

Naperville North 13 Whitney Young 5

Taylor Stoner recorded 4 goals, Katie Horn netted 3 scores, and Caitlin Holzer notched 2 goals as North beat Whitney Young 13-5. Jessie Cronin led the Dolphins with 4 scores.
