Curie 20 Whitney Young 8

Ramiro Almarez scored 7 times, Ivan Ariza netted 6 scores, and Eduardo Chavez totaled 4 goals to lead the Condors past the Dolphins 20-8. Seth Hughes registered 4 scores in the loss for Young.

 

Fremd 11 St Patrick 6

Ryan Helsdingen totaled 6 goals and Max Plichta blocked 10 shots as Fremd beat St Patrick 11-6 for their second straight win over the Shamrocks in five days. Jon Gutierrez notched 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 14 Bradley 7

Nick Thiros recorded 4 goals and Jakobi McClellan made 15 saves in the Vikings' 14-7 win over Bradley. Kevin Kuchta and Zach Peterson each added 3 scores in the win for H-F. Ryan Zhe notched 6 scores in the loss for the Boilers.

 

Lindblom 24 Mather 6

Cory Connor registered 6 scores to help lift Lindblom past Mather 24-6 in a CPS contest.

 

McHenry 18 Barrington 6

Dylan Clohessy poured in 9 goals and Robbie Schwerdtferger notched 6 scores in the Warriors' 18-6 win over Barrington.

 

Prospect 7 Meadows 3

Cam Maur and Michael Morikado both put in 3 scores to help the Knights beat Meadows 7-3.

 

Sandburg 14 Stagg 7

Mike O'Malley scored 5 times and Matt Veldman added 4 goals as the Eagles outscored Stagg 10-2 in the second half to emerge with a 14-7 win on Wednesday in a SWSC crossover. Kevin Tunney and Stephen Zieler each netted 2 scores in the Sandburg victory. Juan Valdez totaled 5 scores in the losing effort.

 

GIRLS

Conant 13 Maine South 12

Kristi Burke recorded the game-winning goal with :19 remaining in regulation to lift the Cougars past the Hawks 13-12 on Wednesday night. Andie Cobb scored 6 times and Burke added 4 scores for Conant, while goalie Jessica Davis totaled 19 saves in the winning effort.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 12 Lincoln-Way West 5

Danijela Jackovich totaled 5 goals and 5 assists, Brittany Knowlton nicked 4 scores, and Caroline Foglton recorded 15 saves and 3 assists as the Knights downed LWW 12-5.

 

Lindblom 27 Mather 3

Danielle Patrick scored 10 times in Lindblom's 27-3 victory over Mather on Wednesday night.

 

Marian 12 Latin 10

Paige Weiser scored 5 goals and Sophie Sesto recorded 4 scores as the Spartans overcame an early 6-1 deficit to beat Latin 12-10 on Wednesday evening. Weiser tallied the go-ahead goal with 2:00 remaining in regulation and Marian added another goal to emerge victorious over the Romans.

 

Northside 12 Resurrection 8 (OT)

Rhyan White scored 4 times, Sarah Bodenstein registered 3 scores, and Megan Gillespie totaled 8 steals as the Mustangs outlasted Resurrection 12-8 in extra time on Wednesday.

 

Oak Park 11 Neuqua Valley 7

Katie Appell recorded 9 goals and drew 5 ejections and Zoe Erickson made 15 saves to lead Oak Park to an 11-7 victory over Neuqua Valley.

 

Sandburg 23 Stagg 8

Jamie Pappanastos registered 6 scores in the Eagles' 23-8 victory over Stagg on Wednesday.

 

Vernon Hills 10 Hersey 4

Anne Fan and Dana Andrea both scored 3 goals and Andrea also totaled 6 assists and 6 steals as Vernon Hills defeated Hersey 10-4.

 

Wheeling 12 Elk Grove 3

Leah Malsom totaled 6 goals and Heather Murphy added 4 scores in Wheeling's 12-3 win over Elk Grove. Theresa Godlewski also added 2 scores in the winning effort. The Wildcats are now just one win away from finishing the 2012 season with a perfect record in the MSL East division. Kathryn Noonan tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Grenadiers.

 

Whitney Young 13 Curie 2

Susy Zizumbo tallied 4 scores, Fairie Hughes and Susan Engemann each netted 3 goals, and Nya Wilkins totaled 12 saves in the Dolphins' 13-2 triumph over Curie.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Andrew at Lockport
Two contenders for the LWC Sectional title meet for the second time this year when the Porters (12-3) host the T-Bolts (14-4) in a SWSC crossover contest. Lockport won the first meeting back in Week 2 by a 15-9 score at the Hinsdale Central Tournament.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

St Patrick at Fremd
The Shamrocks (9-8) seek to quickly avenge a 3-1 loss to the Vikings (17-5) at last weekend's St Patrick Tournament.

 

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Lincoln-Way Central at Lincoln-Way West
The Knights (13-4) face a difficult challenge in trying to stay perfect in the SWSC when they head to Lincoln-Way West (8-9) to take on the Warriors. West won the first meeting at the LWE Tournament 10-8 against a depleted LWC-side.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Lincoln-Way East at Lincoln-Way North
The Phoenix (12-6) hope to make it two in a row against the Griffins (4-6) on Wednesday after beating them 10-7 to win the LWE Tournament in Week 4.
