The Cougars have taken control of the MSL West divisional race, but they'll have to avoid an upset when they go on the road to face Hoffman on Tuesday.

The Wildcats (7-0) are undefeated with three games remaining, while the Huskies (6-1) are nipping at their heels and could even things up with two games remaining for both teams after this contest.

Naperville North 16 Hinsdale Central 4

The Huskies used a balanced offensive attack and built up an 8-1 halftime lead en route to a 16-4 victory over Hinsdale Central. Luke Landiak led the way with 6 goals, Eric Curia put in 4 scores and both Andrew Rocco and Nolan Roberts scored 2 times in the win. George Koulouris scored 2 times in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Brother Rice 12 St Viator 5

Kevin Mayer poured in 5 goals, Dave Jackson scored 4 times, and Cal Kennedy made 14 saves as the Crusaders topped St Viator 12-5 in a Catholic League fixture.

 

Conant 13 Hoffman 6

John Burke recorded 5 goals and Kyle Bradberry added 4 scores in the Cougars' 13-6 win over Hoffman.

 

Fremd 13 Schaumburg 6

Connor Helsdingen and JP French both scored 3 times and Michael Goedken stopped 11 shots as Fremd knocked off Schaumburg 13-6. Dennis Kostidis also scored 2 goals in the win for the Vikings. LJ Peterson scored 2 goals and Marty Faleni made 10 saves in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Lake Forest 13 Libertyville 5

John Baker recorded 5 goals, Jason Woodruff notched 3 scores, and Colin Rowe put in 2 goals as Lake Forest beat Libertyville 13-5.

 

Mather 14 Steinmetz

Nermin Bosnjakovic recorded 4 goals in Mather's 14-7 win over Steinmetz on Tuesday night.

 

Neuqua Valley 16 Hinsdale South 9

Alex Thoele and Will Russell both scored 6 goals and Simon Shatinsky netted 3 goals as Neuqua Valley beat Hinsdale South 16-9. John Hedderman also made 17 saves in the win for the Wildcats. Matt Dajewski scored 6 times in the loss for the Hornets.

 

New Trier 16 Niles West 8

Jordan Palmer netted 4 goals and Joey Ryan scored 3 times as New Trier defeated Niles West 16-8 to stay undefeated in the Central Suburban League.

 

Palatine 15 Barrington 2

Christian Kalfas recorded 6 goals and Alex Brons added 3 scores in Palatine's 15-2 win over Barrington. Kristian Kalev and Omar El Hoffi each scored 2 times in the win for the Pirates. Sam Miseyka scored 2 goals for the Broncos, while Sean McCarthy saved 10 shots in the losing effort.

 

STC North 18 McHenry 8

John Pretet, Justin Simmonds, Kyle Gannon, Nick Traxler, and Ryan Hamilton all scored 3 times in STC North's 18-8 win over McHenry. Collin Bawolek recorded 15 saves in the win for the North Stars.

 

Stevenson 20 Vernon Hills 9

Ten different players recorded goals for the Patriots in their 20-9 victory over Vernon Hills, which gets them just one win away from winning the North Suburban Conference.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Hersey 6 Wheeling 2

The Huskies just made the race for the MSL East title much more interesting after earning a 6-2 win over Wheeling on Tuesday. The two teams sit atop the standings with 7-1 records and have split the season series. Both teams have two divisional games remaining in the regular season.

 

Kelly Johnson scored 3 goals in the victory for the Huskies. Theresa Godlewski scored both goals in the loss for Wheeling.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 18 Richards 6

Annamarie Lettiere scored 7 times and Anna Tamulonis saved 17 shots and scored a goal as the T-Bolts beat Richards 18-6. Genny McCarthy and Megan Hofer each notched 3 scores in the win for Andrew.

 

Argo 14 Marian 12

The Argonauts chalked up their first win of the season by beating Marian 14-12 in nonconference action.

 

Barrington 21 Palatine 7

Kelly Meckert recorded 5 goals and Lisa Danhauer notched 4 scores as Barrington defeated Palatine 21-7 on Tuesday. Catherine Byron and Sam Gavars both registered 3 times and Grace Buenrostro and Maddi Burrell combined to make 8 saves in the Fillies win. Rachel Chumbook scored 3 goals, Caroline Wojtas put in 2 goals and Tori Schlobohm made 7 saves in the loss for the Pirates.

 

Conant 8 Hoffman 5

Carmen Rosas scored 3 goals, Deana Becker added 2 scores, and Maddy Demaret rejected 19 shots in Conant's 8-5 win over Hoffman. Nicole Kasman led the Hawks with 2 scores in the loss.

 

Elk Grove 11 Waubonsie Valley 9

Kathryn Noonan recorded 5 goals and the trio of Alexa Zajac, Christine Juhas, and Madeline Vanko each scored 2 times as Elk Grove fended off Waubonsie Valley 11-9 in nonconference action. Kellie Franke also saved 13 shots in the win for the Grenadiers. Kimela Srey scored 4 goals while Gabby Ansberry and Molly each Molly Devine each tacked in 2 scores in the losing effort for the Warriors.

 

Fenwick 11 Oak Park 3

The Friars' balanced offensive attack helped them get past Oak Park 11-3 on Senior Night. Katie Appell scored 2 goals and Jordin Hale and Zoe Erickson combined to stop 11 shots in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Fremd 12 Schaumburg 4

Bre Anderson and Mandy Borre both scored 3 goals and Emma Hoffman, Samantha Barry, and Tori Boldt each added 2 scores as Fremd earned a 12-4 win over Schaumburg. Ashley Johnson totaled 4 goals and Jessica Sumsky made 9 saves in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Lane 13 Northside 3

The Indians stayed perfect in the CPS with a 13-3 victory over Northside. Marti Hale blocked 12 shots in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Lincoln-Way North 15 Metea Valley 3

Cheyenne DeGraff tallied 5 scores and Sam Klosak put in 3 goals as the Phoenix beat Metea Valley 15-3.

 

Loyola 16 York 10

The Ramblers outscored York 11-5 in the second half after the Dukes kept things tied at 5-5 at the break. Evan Swenson tallied 6 goals, Marta Considine added 4 goals, and Allison Sajnaj put in 3 goals in the win, while goalie Meredith O'Brien stopped 11 shots. Carly Redmond and Kirsten Rasnic each scored 3 times in the loss for York.

 

Maine West 14 Highland Park 4

Carly Romano scored 4 goals and both Cassidy Larsen and Kara Atwood each totaled 3 scores as Maine West downed Highland Park 14-4.

 

Naperville North 18 Hinsdale Central 8

Katie Horn and Taylor Stoner both registered 4 goals and Kate MacDuff blocked 13 shots to help lead the Huskies to an 18-8 win over Hinsdale Central. Taylor Bridgman scored 3 times and Jillian Eiken added 2 scores in the winning effort for the hosts. Liza Gross recorded 4 goals and Sarah Pircon put in 3 scores in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Stevenson 14 Vernon Hills 3

Allison Travetto, Alex Adams, and Melissa Gartenberg each scored 2 goals and Becky Callen and Lauren Burns paired up to block 10 shots as Stevenson defeated Vernon Hills 14-3 in North Suburban Conference play. Sabrina Counselbaum registered 7 saves and Elena Ochoa, Lauren Wood, and Morgan Levy all put in one goal in the loss for the Cougars.
