The Bison shook up the MSL East title race by beating previously unbeaten
Wheeling 10-9. The end result is that both teams are now 7-1 at the top of
the standings with just two games left in conference play.
Fenwick 20 St Viator 5
Twenty different players scored once in Fenwick's 20-5 victory over the
Lions on Monday. Dan Sullivan and Tommy McGuire combined to stop 11 shots
in the Friars' win. Anthony DiSilvestro led Viator with 3 goals.
Lincoln-Way North 10 Homewood-Flossmoor 8
Jake Roberts netted 3 goals and both Curtis Thrun and Kyle Mohan scored 2
times as the Phoenix topped H-F 10-8 on Monday night.
Lockport 14 Stagg 8
Dave Hir totaled 5 goals and Zach Trent added 3 scores in the Porters'
14-8 victory over Stagg. Dan Oldendorf also notched 2 scores in Lockport's
winning effort.
Loyola 12 Evanston 5
Danny Stauder scored 4 goals and Brian Pinelli chipped in with 2 scores as
the Ramblers defeated the Wildkits 12-5 on Monday.
Morgan Park 24 Mather 5
Nick Jones and Zeke Watts both scored 7 goals to lead the Mustangs past
Mather 24-5.
Naperville North 21 Palatine 9
Eric Curia scored 5 times and both Gianmarco Duin and Nolan Roberts added
3 scores to help lift the Huskies over Palatine 21-9. Wally Kleinfeldt
scored 3 goals and Peter Blackham blocked 15 shots in the loss for the
Pirates.
Taft 21 Payton-Jones 13
Jaime Riano scored 5 times in Taft's 21-13 victory over Payton-Jones.
Meanwhile, Joseph Spadoro put in 8 goals in the losing effort for
Payton-Jones.
York 12 Hinsdale South 5
Alex Waldherr tallied 7 scores and Patrick McKenna put in 4 goals in the
Dukes' 12-5 conference victory over Hinsdale South.
GIRLS
Fremd 14 Wheeling 11
Sam del Prado totaled 7 goals and Julie Conrath made 10 saves as Fremd
overcame an early 5-3 deficit to earn a 14-11 victory over Wheeling. Emily
McCarthy also scored 2 times in the win for the Vikings. Leah Malsom
scored 6 goals and Heather Murphy tallied 3 scores in the losing effort
for the Wildcats.
Homewood-Flossmoor 10 Lincoln-Way North 5
The Vikings used a 3-0 run late in the first half to build a 6-3 halftime
lead and held on for a 10-5 victory over LWN on Monday. Rebecca Mathews
scored 5 times and both Claire Duncan and Tess Adamonis put in 2 scores
for the victors. Anna Shirer also made 9 saves for H-F. Megan Wortel
tallied 2 scores to lead the Phoenix in the losing effort.
Lincoln-Way Central 17 Andrew 8
Brittany Knowlton and Danijela Jackovich each scored 5 times to help lift
LWC past Andrew 17-8. Ashley Dhooghe also scored 3 goals and Caroline
Foglton made 8 blocks in the Knights' win. Megan Hofer led the T-Bolts
with 4 scores, while Jordan Bartolini blocked 9 shots in the loss.
Lincoln-Way East 9 Lincoln-Way West 7
Zoe McCabe tallied 4 scores, Grace Ritter netted 2 goals, and Tricia Paul
made 12 saves in the Griffins' 9-7 win over LWW on Monday night.
Lockport 17 Stagg 9
Christine Bafia notched 6 scores and Liz Latka tallied 4 goals in the
Porters' 17-9 win over Stagg. Megan Cavanaugh also totaled 2 goals and 8
steals in the victory for Lockport.
Maine East 17 Maria 0
Isabelle Trier recorded a shutout as the Blue Demons knocked off Maria
17-0 in nonconference action.
Morgan Park 14 Mather 3
Janelle and Gracie Wenner combined to score 12 goals in Morgan Park's 14-3
triumph over Mather.
Naperville North 12 Palatine 4
Sofi Prorok recorded 4 goals and Jessie Lietz added 3 scores in the
Huskies' 12-4 win over Palatine. The Pirates were led by Nicole Theis (2
goals) in the losing cause.
Payton-Jones 19 Taft 17 (OT)
Samantha Blumenthal registered 10 goals as Payton-Jones outlasted Taft
19-17 in overtime.
Whitney Young 14 Juarez 3
Fairie Hughes registered 4 goals, Gabby Chelette added 3 scores, and Emily
Asai notched 2 goals in the Dolphins' 14-3 triumph over Juarez.
York 10 Hinsdale South 6
Perri Brinkmeier recorded 3 goals as York topped Hinsdale South 10-6 in a
WSC contest.
