to help lead the Griffins to a 9-4 win over Conant. Aly Wooley,
Olivia Olszewski, Nia Tsoulos and Paulina Chowaniec (3 ejections
drawn) each scored once and Cam Rosas made 17 saves in the losing
effort.
Conant 3 Prospect 1
Lea Cejvan, Olivia Olszewski and Paulina Chowaniec each scored once
as the Cougars built a 3-0 lead and held on for a 3-1 victory over
Prospect. Cam Rosas also made 21 saves in the win. Kate Colehour
scored the lone goal for the Knights.
Palatine 3 Maine South 2
Ashley Helminski recorded 2 goals, Kiki Herbst scored once and Megan
Woell blocked 17 shots to help the Pirates claim a 3-2 victory over
Maine South.
Lincoln-Way East 5 STC North 4
Paige Ruffner and Reis Parkinson both scored 2 goals and Sarah
Jackson scored once to lift the Griffins over STC North 5-4.
Neuqua Valley 8 Evanston 7
Zoe Salafatinos registered 6 scores to lead the Wildcats past
Evanston 8-7 and into the title game of the event. Riley Hughes
notched 4 scores in the losing effort.
STC North 12 Maine South 2
Sarah Gibson scored 3 goals and Claire Rich made 8 saves in the
North Stars' 12-2 victory over Maine South.
Prospect 10 Palatine 3
Colleen Doyle notched 3 scores and Mary Clare McAleer made 12 saves
as the Knights' upended Palatine 10-3 in the event's fifth-place
game. Kiki Herbst scored 3 goals and Megan Woell stopped 13 shots in
the loss for the hosts.
Evanston 4 Conant 3
Giselle Figueroa scored 3 times, including the game-winner on a
penalty shot, as the Wildkits' completed a fourth quarter comeback
to edge Conant 4-3 to claim third place at the Palatine Tournament.
Lauren Hays also scored once for the winners. Amanda Skittone, Nia
Tsoulos and Olivia Olszewski each scored once in the loss for the
Cougars.
Lincoln-Way East 14 Neuqua Valley 3
Paige Ruffner netted 5 scores and Sarah Jackson scored 4 times as
the Griffins defeated Neuqua Valley 14-3 to win the Palatine
Tournament. Reis Parkinson was named Tournament MVP for her efforts
in helping East win the event.
