Lincoln-Way Central Outlasts Diverse Field To Win SeaLion Shootout

LWC went 4-0 over the weekend, beating Prospect 13-8 in the event's title game, to walk away from St Viator as 'SeaLion Shootout' champions. The Knights beat STC North on Friday before earning key victories over BG, St Viator, and the other Knights in the final game. Buffalo Grove knocked off fellow MSL competitor Palatine in the third-place game.

Palatine 6 Lockport 4

Rachel Chumbrook notched 5 scores and Hannah Otis blocked 7 shots in the Pirates' 6-4 win. Liz Latka led the Porters with 3 scores in the loss.

Lincoln-Way Central 11 STC North 6

Danijela Jackovich totaled 6 goals and 9 steals and Caroline Foglton made 13 saves as LWC topped STC North 11-6 in the final game of Friday night's St Viator Tournament. Brittany Knowlton added 2 scores for the Knights in their victory.

Palatine 7 Prospect 7

Rachel Chumbrook scored 4 goals for Palatine and Jenna Gartz tallied 3 scores for Prospect as the two MSL teams finished in a 7-7 draw on Friday. Nicole Theis also scored 2 times for the Pirates, while both Katlyn Tomasetti and Kallie Shields scored 2 goals for the Knights.

Jessica Cavaiani recorded 5 goals and Emily Gabriel added scores as the Knights beat St Viator 13-4.  Jenna Gartz and Katlyn Tomasetti each added 2 scores for the winners.

Lincoln-Way Central 17 Buffalo Grove 5

Brittany Knowlton tallied 8 scores and Danijela Jackovich added 3 scores as LWC rolled to a 17-5 win over Buffalo Grove.

Palatine 8 St Viator 2

Caroline Wojtas scored 3 times and Rachel Chumbrook added 2 scores in Palatine's 8-2 win over StV.

Prospect 7 Lockport 6

Jessica Cavaiani (3 goals) scored the game-winning goal with :13 remaining in regulation to help lift the Knights past Lockport 7-6. Amanda Drucker made 10 saves in the win for Prospect.

Lincoln-Way Central 14 St Viator 5

Danijela Jackovich scored 7 goals and Caroline Foglton made 9 saves in the Knights' 14-5 win over the hosts.

Buffalo Grove 9 Palatine 4 (3rd)

The Bison got offensive contributions from five players as they knocked off Palatine 9-4. Nicole Theis and Rachel Chumbrook each scored 2 times and Caroline Wojtas and Hannah Otis combined to save 20 shots in the losing effort.

Danijela Jackovich totaled 8 goals and 8 steals to lead the Knights to a 13-8 title game win over Prospect at the St Viator Tournament on Saturday. Brittany Knowlton added 3 scores in the LWC victory. Jessica Cavaiani scored 6 times, Kallie Shields added 2 scores, and Amanda Drucker made 14 saves in the loss for the Knights.
