TOURNAMENT
Fenwick Beats Missouri's Best To Win DeSmet Tourney; LWN Finishes In
Eighth
#1 Fenwick traveled across state lines and went 5-0 against Missouri's top
teams to win the DeSmet Tournament title. The Friars beat top-ranked SLUH
7-6 in a virtual semifinal game before beating MO's second-ranked team,
Parkway West in the championship. Matt Farmer and Viken Huening were named the tournament's
Co-MVP with 16 and 13 goals, respectively, during the event. Both players
were also named to the
All-Tournament Team. Dan Kelly
and Tom Osmolak also scored 10 goals apiece during the event, which also
saw the Friars earn wins over Lindbergh, MICDS, and Parkway North.
Lincoln-Way North started the event in fine fashion with an 8-7 victory
over Chaminade on Friday. The road blues struck the Phoenix in the event's
second day, however, as North followed their Friday night loss to Parkway
West with losses to DeSmet, Belen Jesuit, and Parkway North to finish the

TOURNAMENT
LT Runs Away With Tournament Title
The second-ranked Lions earned
three double-digit victories to claim their own event's title, rounding
out the weekend with a emphatic 11-1 win over #3 Loyola in the
championship game on Saturday. St Ignatius returned to form with wins over
#13 Stevenson and #9 Oak Park, the latter victory coming courtesy of a
Billy Barth goal in sudden-death overtime in the third-place game.
Meanwhile, York got past Stevenson 9-6 in the event's fifth-place game.

NAPERVILLE TOURNAMENT
Naperville North Crowned
'Best of the West' After Weekend Performance
Eric Curia scored 23
goals in wins over Naperville Central, GBS, GBN, and Lake Forest to
lead North to a 4-0 record in Naperville over the weekend. Central
beat GBN for second place after finishing in second place behind a
20-goal tally from Dennis Herron. Glenbrook South won the
consolation group with wins over Hinsdale Central and Mundelein, as
JJ Connor scored 22 times and Tom Meyer blocked 39 shots.

TOURNAMENT
Eagles Win Title Against Diverse Field
Sandburg allowed just seven goals in four games to roll to a perfect
record at their own tournament on Saturday evening. The Eagles' clinched
the title with a 9-3 victory over Conant. Andrew finished in third by
beating STC North 18-10, while Prospect defeated Hinsdale South for fifth
and Lane edged R-B in the seventh-place game. Click the logo below for

H-F Literally Shoots Out
The Competition To Win St Patrick Tournament
Homewood-Flossmoor won
all three of their games on Saturday via shootout to walk away from
the St Patrick Tournament with a 4-0 record and a ton of experience
in pressure-packed situations. The Vikings moved to the first-place
group after beating Waubonsie Valley 10-9, as Kevin Kuchta and Henry
Weeks each scored 3 goals. Then, they outlasted Fremd 14-13 behind 3
goals from Kuchta and Zack Peterson. Finally, the Vikings edged the
hosts 9-7, with Peterson scoring 3 times in the victory. On the day,
goalie Jakobi McClellan made 29 saves and Kuchta totaled 29 steals.

FENWICK TOURNAMENT
Naperville
Central Proves Point At Fenwick Tournament
The Redhawks solidified their
top-ranking by knocking off Lyons 14-11 in the grand finale of the Fenwick
Tournament on Saturday evening. Central won the event with a 4-0 record,
earning wins over Mundelein, New Trier, and Stevenson in addition to their
triumph over the Lions. LT, which surprised Fenwick 13-10 on Friday, place
second with a 3-1 mark.
Mother McAuley beat Stevenson
9-5 to claim third place ahead of the Patriots, the hosts shutout H-F 9-0
to end the weekend on a high note in the fifth-place game, and St Ignatius
held off New Trier 11-7 to put the finishing touches on a 2-1-1 weekend

ELK GROVE
TOURNAMENT
Wildcats Earn Elk Grove Title With 4-0 Mark
Libertyville made their way through the field at the Elk Grove Tournament
with perfection, grabbing wins over Deer Park, Elk Grove, Maine East, and
Meadows en route to their first tournament title of the 2012 season. Molly
Bruns and Sam Voelker combined to score 23 goals for the tourney champs.
Elk Grove surprised Maine East 13-5 in the event's nightcap to claim
second place. The Blue Demons finished with a 2-2 mark, good enough for

TOURNAMENT
Metea Valley Comes On Strong To Win OPRF Tournament
Metea Valley returned to their pre-Spring Break form, winning three
straight games on Saturday to win the Oak Park Tournament. The Mustangs
earned wins over the hosts, LWN, and Wheeling; the 7-6 title game victory
due in large part to the 26-save performance of goalie Sean Birkholz.
Wheeling took second place with wins over Marian and Schaumburg, while Oak
Park edged the Saxons in overtime in the third-place game. LWN topped

ST VIATOR TOURNAMENT
Lincoln-Way Central Outlasts Diverse Field To Win SeaLion Shootout
LWC went 4-0 over the weekend, beating Prospect 13-8 in the event's title
game, to walk away from St Viator as 'SeaLion Shootout' champions. The
Knights beat STC North on Friday before earning key victories over BG, St
Viator, and the other Knights in the final game. Buffalo Grove knocked off
fellow MSL competitor Palatine in the third-place game. Click the logo

Conant Impressive In Winning Vernon Hills Tournament
The combined efforts of Andie Cobb and Kristi Burke on the offensive end
helped Conant earn wins over the hosts, Hoffman, and Maine West en route
to the Vernon Hills title on Saturday. The Cougars' duo totaled 21 goals
and, combined with Jessica Davis' 25 saves and a solid team defense,
helped the MSL West squad walk away with a perfect 3-0 day. The hosts
sealed a second place finish with wins over Hoffman and Maine West, while
the Warriors beat the Hawks in the virtual third-place game. Click the

Naperville North Emerges From York As Title Holder
The Huskies earned decisive victories over Andrew and Bremen on Friday
night before putting on an offensive clinic in a 15-2 title game win over
Barrington on Saturday afternoon. Bremen pulled things together to beat
York in the third-place game, while Andrew had no problems getting past

The second-ranked Lions play
host to a strong six-team field that includes #3 Loyola, #9 Oak Park, #13
Stevenson, St Ignatius, and York. In the four Friday night games, York
takes on both OPRF and Loyola, while St Ignatius faces the hosts and
Stevenson.

Naperville Central Tournament
The Best of the West event
gets off to a quick start on Friday, with both Central and North hosting
first-round games. The Redhawks are in a group with Buffalo Grove and
Hinsdale Central, North takes on both GBS and Lake Forest in their group,
while GBN, LWC, and Mundelein are paired up in the third group.

Fenwick, LWN Look To Make Waves Against Missouri's Best
The Friars and Phoenix both head to Missouri to take on several of the
state's best teams beginning on Friday. Fenwick will look to repeat as
champions, while LWN replaces Stagg and will try to best the 7th place
finish the Chargers earned in 2011. The field includes #1 St Louis
University High, #2 Parkway West, and #3 DeSmet, along with a few other
ranked Missouri teams. How will the two IL teams fare in representing the
state?

Eagles Look To Defend Title Against Diverse Field
Sandburg hosts an eight-team field beginning on Friday night, hosting the
same seven teams as the previous year, in which the hosts eventually won
the title with a 4-0 record. Can they repeat that feat against a tough
crowd?

Shamrocks' Eight-Team Field Ready To Rumble
H-F will look to defend their 2011 title at the annual St Patrick
Tournament; they will need to be at their best, as the hosts, Brother
Rice, Evanston, Fremd, LWE, Niles West, and Whitney Young will all be
gunning for the Vikings beginning on Friday night.

The second day of action at
the Fenwick Tournament starts in fine fashion, with a battle between the
last two state champions (4:30pm - Fenwick vs Lyons). The rest of the
slate wraps up the preliminary round, with matchups like #1 Naperville
Central vs #8 New Trier and #7 Stevenson vs #10 H-F highlighting the
evening.

The Lions' host six other teams in a Friday/Saturday event that has more
questions than answers as to who will emerge as champions of the SeaLion
