YORK TOURNAMENT

Naperville North Defends Title At York
With the pressure on, Naperville North's mix of talent and experience led them to the York Tournament title after wins over Barrington, Bremen, R-B over the weekend. Bremen outlasted Andrew 9-5 in the third-place game, while the hosts beat R-B by a 9-6 score in the event's fifth-place game.

Barrington 9 Andrew 3

The Fillies began their quest to return to the title game of the York Tournament with a 9-3 victory over the T-Bolts. Lisa Danhauer poured in 5 goals while Catherine Byron and Kelly Meckert each scored 2 times for the winners. Rachel Fus put in 2 goals, Megan Hofer added one score, and Anna Tamulonis rejected 14 shots in the loss.

Andrew 12 York 9

Megan Hofer scored 7 goals and Anna Tamulonis blocked 13 shots in the T-Bolts' 12-9 victory over York. Genna McCarthy pitched in with 2 goals and Alicia Tebo, Annamarie Lettiere, and Courtney Carter each tallied one score for the victors.

Barrington 10 York 5

Sam Gavars tallied 4 scores, Kelly Meckert registered 3 goals, and Catherine Byron put in 2 goals as the Fillies advanced to the York Tournament's title game by beating the hosts 10-5. Lisa Danhauer also scored one time in the winning effort.

York 9 R-B 6 (5th place)

Jess Kellerstrass and Perri Brinkmeier each scored 2 goals to help as York defeated R-B 9-6 to claim fifth place at their own event on Saturday.

Naperville North 10 Barrington 5 (1st place)

The Huskies defended their tournament title at York by getting past Barrington 10-5 on Saturday. Kelly Meckert and Sam Gavars both scored 2 goals and Lisa Danhauer chipped in with one score in the loss for the Fillies. Grace Buenrostro also totaled 8 blocks in the losing effort.
