BOYS

Buffalo Grove 14 Meadows 1

Ian Rodriguez scored 5 goals to lead the Bison past Meadows 14-1.

 

Curie 16 Morgan Park 7

Ivan Ariza and Marcos Hernandez each scored 3 times and Daniel Pantoja made 11 saves as Curie beat Morgan Park 16-7.

 

Lyons 7 Sandburg 5

The Lions earned a huge nonconference win over Sandburg on Wednesday, beating the Eagles 7-5 to run their record to 15-2 heading into their own tournament on Friday. Mike Malecki blocked 10 shots and Matt Veldman notched 2 scores in the loss for the Eagles.

 

Northside 15 Whitney Young 13

Cyrus Deloye and Michal Rajski both scored 5 times in NSP's 15-13 victory over Whitney Young. Connor Gillespie also totaled 2 goals and 5 assists in the win.

 

Stagg 18 Lincoln-Way Central 7

Mike Niles registered 4 scores to help lead the Chargers to an 18-7 victory over LWC on Wednesday.

 

GIRLS

Andrew 13 STC East 5

Abbey Wrobel scored 4 times and Fran Gilberto added 3 scores as the T-Bolts downed STC East 13-5 on Wednesday. Annamarie Lettiere added 2 scores and Jordan Bartolini made 8 saves in the Andrew win.

 

Latin 12 Payton-Jones 2

Ashley Henderson registered 4 goals in the opening half of Latin's 12-2 triumph over Payton-Jones.

 

Lindblom 23 Kennedy 2

Danielle Patrick scored 10 times as Lindblom remained perfect in the CSL with a 23-2 win over Kennedy.

 

Mundelein 9 Libertyville 7

Karrie Kozokar netted 4 scores and Amy Klink notched 3 scores in Mundelein's 9-7 win over Libertyville. Molly Bruns totaled 2 scores for the Wildcats in the losing cause.

 

STC North 13 R-B 4

Sarah Stern totaled 4 scores and 7 steals and Claire Bultema added 5 goals and 5 steals in STC North's 13-4 triumph over R-B.

 

Stevenson 13 Glenbrook South 4

Erin McCook scored 5 goals and Lisa Michalowski made 11 saves in the Patriots' 13-4 win over GBS.

 

Whitney Young 6 Northside 5 (OT)

Gabby Chelette recorded the game-winning goal in the second period of overtime to send the Dolphins past NSP 6-5 on Wednesday. Fairie Hughes scored 4 times and Nya Wilkins made 14 saves in the win for Whitney Young. Meghan Quigley led the Mustangs with 2 scores in the loss.

Lyons at Sandburg

LT (14-2) and Sandburg (10-2) meet in a nonconference battle between 2011 state qualifiers; both teams will be looking for a win to gain some momentum heading into their own respective tournaments over the weekend.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Hinsdale Central at Waubonsie Valley

The Red Devils (11-2-2) and Warriors (4-9) will be fighting for a high seed at the Neuqua Valley Sectional when they do battle on Wednesday evening in Aurora.

 

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Sandburg at Lyons

Can the Eagles (10-6) hand the Lions (13-0) their first loss of the season? We'll find out tomorrow night at 6:00pm in LaGrange.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Mundelein at Libertyville

The Mustangs (7-7) face difficult odds in their quest to get over the .500 mark when they go on the road to face NSC rival Libertyville (6-2) on Wednesday.
