MATCH OF THE DAY
Fenwick 14 St Ignatius 9
Matt Bresnahan recorded 5 goals and both Andrew Bertschy and Omar Calderon
notched 2 scores as the Friars beat St Ignatius 14-9 to finish the regular
season with a perfect conference record. Danny Farmer, Dan Sullivan, Justin
White, Tony Perez, and Trevor McLean each scored once in the Fenwick
victory. Tom Dowling poured in 6 goals and Tym Zymon blocked 12 shots for
the Wolfpack, while Billy Barth, Jesus Juarez, and Zach Blake all scored
once in the losing effort.
OTHER KEY GAMES
Bremen 14 Lincoln-Way West 8
Quinn Johnson put in 10 goals and Tony Zdanavicius stopped 17 shots as
Bremen knocked off LWW 14-8 in a nonconference affair. Julian Brancato and
Kurt Butterfield both registered 3 scores in the losing effort for the
Warriors.
Brother Rice 10 St Patrick 8
Kevin Mayer and Dan Whalen each recorded 3 goals while Ian Disteldorf and
Luke Healy netted 2 scores as Brother Rice held off St Patrick 10-8 on
Monday. Cal Kennedy also made 8 saves in the victory for the Crusaders.
Loyola 14 St Rita 10
Ben Pasquesi, Cameron Shewchuck, and Jack Considine each registered 3
scores in Loyola's 14-10 win over St Rita.
Mundelein 16 Vernon Hills 5
Connor Black returned to the lineup after a brief absence to score 6 goals
and Jude Krauss put in 3 goals as Mundelein defeated Vernon Hills 16-5.
Jason Rehor and John Brueckbauer each tallied 2 scores for the winners.
Taft 22 Roosevelt 7
Ricky Navarro notched 7 goals and both Christian Gordon and Mark Griffin
tallied 3 scores in the Eagles' 22-7 win over Roosevelt. Andy Navarro and
Narcisso Perez both added 2 goals for the victors.
Westinghouse 18 Steinmetz 3
Dante Navarro recorded 4 goals and Kewan Clark netted 4 scores as
Westinghouse defeated Steinmetz in CPS action on Monday night.

MATCH OF THE DAY
Fenwick 9 St Ignatius 5
Colleen Barron scored 4 goals and Cara Borkovec added 2 scores for the
Friars as they finally beat St Ignatius 9-5 after the two teams tied 6-6
last Saturday. Alexa Ovalle, Genevieve Curry, and Haley Wickham each scored
once in the win for Fenwick. Becky Insalaco and Tammy Stelnicki finished
with 2 goals each and Olivia Evangelides scored once in the loss for the
Wolfpack.
In the first half, Insalaco scored 2 goals and drew a penalty that Stelnicki
converted, while Barron put in 2 goals and Wickham scored once as the teams
went to halftime tied at 3-3. Fenwick used a 3-1 run in the third period to
take a 6-4 lead with seven minutes left. In the final period, the Friars put
together another 3-1 run that extended their lead to 9-5, and they held on
to earn the four-goal win.
OTHER KEY GAMES
Elk Grove 13 Buffalo Grove 6
Kathryn Noonan scored 4 goals and both Alexa Zajac and Christine Juhas
tallied 3 goals as Elk Grove got past Buffalo Grove 13-6. The Grenadiers
broke the game open with a 7-2 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from
the Bison. Kellie Franke also made 12 saves in the Elk Grove victory.
Bridget Whited scored 3 times and Margeret Lotzer put in 2 goals in the
loss for BG.
Lyons 12 H-F 7
Blair Hopwood scored 3 times and the trio of Carly Strass,
Frankie Delleman and Julia Cohen each put in 2 goals as Lyons defeated
H-F 12-7 on Monday. Amber Barney and Annie Schloen both recorded 2 goals
in the loss for the Vikings.
Marian 10 Lane 9
Paige Wieser recorded 7 goals to help lead the Spartans to a 10-9 comeback
victory over Lane. Marian trailed 5-1 early before drawing 12 ejections
over the final three periods to bolster their surge. Sophie Sesto added 2
goals and Emily Amadio added one goal in the win for the Spartans. Carmen
Savolainen led the Indians with 3 scores in the loss.
Northside 16 Deerfield 3
Marti Hale tallied 5 goals and Diana Roback scored 4 times in Northside's
16-3 triumph over Deerfield. Kaitlyn Gilbert and Katherine Rodgers both
put in 2 goals in the loss for the visitors.
Wheeling 6 Prospect 5
Kat Dobrowski scored the game-tying goal with under one minute left in
regulation and then scored the game-winner with four seconds remaining to
lift Wheeling over Prospect 6-5 on Monday evening. Mary Schiavone scored 3
times and Lauren Broz saved 15 shots in the narrow loss for the Knights.
