Friday's Game Recaps

SLUH 19 York 4

Missouri's top-ranked team (SLUH) earned a tournament-opening 19-4 win over York on Friday afternoon. In the loss, Wil Hubert scored 2 times and both Joe Kesslering and Jordan Jopes tallied one score.

 

Fenwick 13 New Trier 8

Andrew Bertschy scored 3 goals and Bailey Wendt, Danny Farmer, and Ryan Masi each scored 2 goals to help the Friars get past New Trier 13-8. Jack Vorwald totaled 3 scores in the loss for the Trevians.

 

SLUH 11 Loyola 4

St Louis earned their second-straight win on Friday as they knocked off Loyola 11-4. Cameron Shewchuck and Matt Kearney each scored 2 times in the loss for the Ramblers.

 

Lyons 8 Niles West 2

Nathan Kriha recorded 3 goals and Matt McDonnell notched 2 scores as Lyons knocked off Niles West 8-2. George Duffy, Matt Baldassare, and Thomas Waters each added one goal in the Lions' win.

 

Fenwick 13 Mundelein 4

Jack Mahoney totaled 3 goals and both David Durkin and Ryan Masi scored 2 times in Fenwick's 13-4 win over Mundelein.

 

New Trier 7 Mundelein 5

Jack Riggio converted 4 goals and Michael Krueger put in 2 scores as the Trevians held off Mundelein 7-5 in the final game of the night at the York Tournament. Jeremy Westgate and Jude Krauss each scored 2 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.


Saturday's Game Recaps

SLUH 8 Lyons 7

St Louis overcame a 7-3 deficit with a 5-0 run in the second half to edge Lyons 8-7. George Duffy scored 3 goals and Nathan Kriha added 2 scores in the loss for the Lions.

 

Niles West 13 York 7

Kyle Patt tallied 5 scores and Steven Renko notched 4 goals as Niles West beat York 13-7. Wil Hubert put in 4 scores in the loss for the Dukes.

 

SLUH 8 Fenwick 7 (OT)

St Louis won the opening swim-off and Chris Kreienkamp scored the game-winning goal on the ensuing possession as the Billikens won the York Tournament after beating Fenwick 8-7 in sudden-death overtime on Saturday morning. Danny Farmer scored 3 times, Ryan Masi added 2 goals, and both David Durkin and Jack Mahoney scored once in the loss for the Friars.

 

Loyola 5 Lyons 4

Cameron Shewchuck, Mike Zahorik, Jack Schermerhorn, Regan Murphy, and Tom Baker each scored one goal as Loyola held off Lyons 5-4. Goerge Duffy and Nathan Kriha both scored 2 goals in the loss for LT.

 

Mundelein 9 York 6

Art Kasemets and Jeremy Westgate each scored 2 goals as the Mustangs pulled away from York in the final period to earn a 9-6 win over the hosts. Joe Kesslering and Matt Rodriguez each scored 2 times in the loss for the Dukes.

 

Niles West 12 New Trier 2

Steven Renko notched 6 goals and Matt Lefler made 12 saves as the Wolves defeated New Trier 12-2.

 

Fenwick 8 Lyons 2

Bailey Wendt registered 3 goals, Danny Farmer and Ryan Masi both put in 2 scores, and Jack Mahoney added a goal as the Friars defeated Lyons 8-2. George Duffy and George Lundgren each scored once in the losing effort for LT.

 

Loyola 10 Mundelein 3

Jack Nickele and Jack Shermerhorn each scored 3 goals to lead the Ramblers to a 10-3 victory over the Mustangs. Art Kasemets scored 2 goals and Jude Krauss added one score in the loss for Mundelein.

 

York 7 New Trier 6

Matt Rodriguez notched 3 scores and Joe Kesslering put in 2 goals as the Dukes finished their own event with a 7-6 win over New Trier. Jack Riggio and Jack Vorwald each scored 2 times in the loss for NT.

 

Loyola 10 Niles West 4

Cameron Shewchuck scored 3 times and Mike Zahorik netted 2 goals as Loyola wrapped up the tourney with a 10-4 win over Niles West. Steven Renko led the Wolves with 2 goals in the loss.
