GAME PREVIEWS (Friday, April 4)
FEATURED EVENT
YORK TOURNAMENT
The Dukes host an ultra-competitive, nine-team tournament that features
several of the state's Top 25 teams plus Missouri's top-ranked squad.
The hosts begin play in a group with SLUH and Loyola, Fenwick does
battle with Mundelein and New Trier, while St Ignatius is joined by
Lyons and Niles West. Group play continues from Friday into Saturday
morning before the championship round begins.
OTHER KEY EVENTS
STEVENSON TOURNAMENT
Two Missouri-based teams head to Lincolnshire to do battle with the
hosts, Oak Park, and Libertyville in a five-team, eight-game event titled
the "I-55 Showdown" - the Illinois teams went 7-2 at last year's event.
Who will gain the upper-hand in 2014 when Illinois takes on a few of Missouri's
best teams?
ST PATRICK TOURNAMENT
The Shamrocks' tournament features a dynamic group of competitive teams,
with Brother Rice, Evanston, Fremd, H-F, LWE, and Whitney Young leading the list of contenders.
The eight teams will play a grand total of
16 games over the weekend at an event that Brother Rice won last season.

FEATURED EVENT
FENWICK TOURNAMENT
The 9-team, 18-game Fenwick Tournament features several of the state's
best teams and could serve as a potential preview of next month's state
tournament. Eight of the state's top eleven squads are in action, with a
list that includes #1 Fenwick, #2 St Ignatius, #3 Mundelein, #4
Stevenson, #7 McAuley, #8 Loyola, #9 New Trier and #11 Lyons. A
much-improved Homewood-Flossmoor also joins the fray in an event that
begins with five opening-round games on Friday night, followed by four
more games on Saturday morning before the championship round begins.

GAME RECAPS (Friday, April 4)
STEVENSON TOURNAMENT
Oak Park 13 Parkway South 12
Kevin Perez scored with 0:32 left in regulation to lift the Huskies to a
13-12 win over Parkway South on Friday night. Mark Hallman led the OPRF
offense with 3 goals, while Perez, James Kelly, Josh Gronwold, and
Lawrence Cozzi each notched 2 scores in the win. Alex West and Robbie
Wickes also chipped in with one goal apiece for the victors.
ST PATRICK TOURNAMENT
Homewood-Flossmoor 13 Whitney Young 10
Broc Thompson recorded 7 goals, Marcus Perry netted 3 scores, and Jakobi
McClellan made 13 saves as the Vikings downed Whitney Young 13-10. Duncan
McDonald led the Dolphins with 3 scores in the losing effort.
YORK TOURNAMENT
SLUH 19 York 4
Missouri's top-ranked team (SLUH) earned a tournament-opening 19-4 win
over York on Friday afternoon. In the loss, Wil Hubert scored 2 times and
both Joe Kesslering and Jordan Jopes tallied one score.
Fenwick 13 New Trier 8
Andrew Bertschy, Bailey Wendt, Danny Farmer, and Ryan Masi each scored 2
goals to help the Friars get past New Trier 13-8. Jack Vorwald totaled 3
scores in the loss for the Trevians.
SLUH 11 Loyola 4
St Louis earned their second-straight win on Friday as they knocked off
Loyola 11-4. Cameron Shewchuck and Matt Kearney each scored 2 times in the
loss for the Ramblers.
Lyons 8 Niles West 2
Nathan Kriha recorded 3 goals and Matt McDonnell notched 2 scores as Lyons
knocked off Niles West 8-2. George Duffy, Matt Baldassare, and Thomas
Waters each added one goal in the Lions' win.
Fenwick 13 Mundelein 4
Jack Mahoney totaled 3 goals and both David Durkin and Ryan Masi scored 2
times in Fenwick's 13-4 win over Mundelein.
New Trier 7 Mundelein 5
Jack Riggio converted 4 goals and Michael Krueger put in 2 scores as the
Trevians held off Mundelein 7-5 in the final game of the night at the York
Tournament. Jeremy Westgate and Jude Krauss each scored 2 goals in the
loss for the Mustangs.
OTHER KEY GAMES
Hersey 10 St Viator 9 (2 OT)
Connor Reynolds scored the game-winning goal in the opening minute of
sudden-death overtime to lift the Huskies over St Viator 10-9 on Friday
night. Jack Carroll led the Hersey offense with 5 goals in the win.

FENWICK TOURNAMENT
Lyons 11 New Trier 2
Caroline Walsh and Julia Cohen each recorded 3 goals and Jesse
Wittenberg stopped 11 shots to lead the Lions to an 11-2 victory over
New Trier. Haley Hughes added 2 goals while Emily Stelnicki, Emma Hirt,
and Frankie Delleman each notched one score in the tournament-opening
win for LT. Maria Breen scored both goals in the loss for the Trevians.
St Ignatius 18 Loyola 6
Rebecca Martinez poured in 5 goals and both Diana Fernandez and Nina
Mantich scored 3 times as SICP defeated Loyola 18-6 on Friday. Maggie
Maloney and Stephania Lopez both added 2 scores in the victory for the
Wolfpack.
St Ignatius 13 Stevenson 7
Tammy Stelnicki recorded 5 goals and Jenny Stelnicki made 15 saves in
the Wolfpack's 13-7 victory over Stevenson. Diana Fernandez, Maggie
Maloney, and Rebecca Martinez each added 2 scores in the win for SICP.
OTHER KEY GAMES
Hersey 14 Barrington 3
Hannah Lippstreuer tallied 4 goals and both Jill Hoffman and Katie
Lindholm netted 3 scores to help the Huskies knock off Barrington 14-3.
Andrea Potgieter scored 2 goals and Maddi Burrell made 9 saves in the
loss for the Fillies.
Palatine 12 Vernon Hills 2
Rachel Chumbook notched 5 scores, Caroline Wojtas scored 4 times, and
Kim Butler blocked 12 shots in Palatine's 12-2 triumph over Vernon
Hills. Callie Gilsenan, Emily Seidl, and Maryana Dvorska each added one
score in the Pirates' victory. Lauren Wood and Lisa Cheng each scored
one time in the loss for the Cougars.
