YORK TOURNAMENT

Loyola 10 Niles West 6

The Ramblers built a 7-3 halftime lead en route to a 10-6 victory over Niles West in the opening game of the York Tournament. Max Ashurst and Matt Merucci both scored 2 goals in the winning effort. Lucas Brace led the Wolves' offense with 4 scores in the loss.

 

St Ignatius 9 York 9

The hosts mounted a tremendous second half comeback to earn a 9-9 draw with St Ignatius. Tim Evely scored 3 goals, Danny Stumpf notched 3 scores and Luke Nowak scored 2 times for the Dukes. Shane Hughes scored 6 goals, Andreas Christy notched 2 scores and Moises Lopez scored once for SICP.

 

New Trier 17 Niles West 9

Henry Yavitt and Sam Yavitt combined to score 7 goals while both Charlie Ryan and Michael Krueger put in 3 goals as the Trevians beat Niles West 17-9.

 

Lyons 6 Mundelein 4

George Lundgren scored 3 goals to help the Lions fend off Mundelein 6-4 on Friday. Nick Oleinik tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Fenwick 11 York 11

The Dukes earned their second straight draw of the night against Fenwick as the two finished tied at 11-11 at the end of regulation. Mickey McGuire scored 5 times, Chez Daggs netted 3 goals and Tommy Martino scored 2 goals for the Friars. Danny Stumpf registered 5 scores and Alex Marlott tallied 2 scores for the hosts.

 

Loyola 10 New Trier 6

Matt Merucci scored 4 times and both Larkin Flanagan and Michael Considine scored 2 goals as Loyola got past New Trier 10-6. Cole Morgan added one score and Walter Haracz stopped 7 shots for the victors.

 

St Ignatius 8 Fenwick 5

Shane Hughes notched 3 scores and Moises Lopez scored 2 times in the Wolfpack's 9-4 win over Fenwick. Mickey McGuire scored 2 goals in the loss for the Friars.

 

 

ST PATRICK TOURNAMENT

St Patrick 5 Lane 0

Due to the CPS strike, the opening game of the St Patrick Tournament has been cancelled. The game will be declared a victory for the Shamrocks and Lane will fully participate in the event on Saturday.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 17 Evanston 5

John Weeks totaled 6 goals, Johnnie Schmidt scored 3 times, Travis Tanner put in 2 scores and Luke Santefort totaled 9 saves and 5 assists in the Vikings' 17-5 win over Evanston.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Prospect 7 Libertyville 5

Isaac Ginnodo scored 4 goals, Jake Bellows scored 2 times and Justin Rose made 16 saves in the Knights' 7-5 win over Libertyville. Andrew Fink made 8 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 


 

 

 

FENWICK TOURNAMENT

Stevenson 11 Lyons 8

Allison Travetto totaled 7 goals as Stevenson earned an 11-8 victory over Lyons in the opening game of the Fenwick Tournament on Friday. Lauren Burns blocked 12 shots in three quarters of play for the defending champions. Kaysie Stuba notched 3 scores and Maddie Cordell netted 2 scores in the loss for the Lions.

 

Mother McAuley 6 St Ignatius 5

Paulina Correa scored 3 goals and Jill Mueller scored 2 times as Mother McAuley held off St Ignatius 6-5 on Friday night. Geena Peyton made a key steal in the final minute after an Ignatius timeout to seciure the win. Julie Olivares also scored once for the winners. Diana Fernandez notched 3 scores and Tara White scored 2 times in the losing effort.

 

Fenwick 8 New Trier 7

Catie Wallace scored the game-winning goal late in the fourth quarter as the hosts bounced back from a halftime deficit to edge New Trier 8-7. Wallace led the Friars with 3 goals while Clare Durkin, Kelly Frumkin, Jillian Wickham, Maddie Nettleton and Shannon Forst each scored once for the winners. Kami Grochowski and Lauren Barrett each scored 2 times in the loss for the Trevians.

 

Stevenson 15 Loyola 3

Allison Travetto totaled 6 goals and 5 assists while Claire Haas also scored 6 goals in the Patriots' 15-3 triumph over Loyola. Lauren Burns also stopped 14 shots in the win.

 

Mother McAuley 22 Naperville North 4

MaryGrace Golon, Kim Fischer and Paulina Correa each scored 3 goals as the Mighty Macs built a 9-0 lead after the opening period en route to a 22-4 victory over Naperville North.
