GAME RECAPS (Thursday, March 29)
 

BOYS

Homewood-Flossmoor 18 Lockport 17

Zack Peterson recorded 9 goals and Kevin Kuchta added 5 scores as H-F erased a one-goal deficit in the final period to edge Lockport 18-17. Dave Hir scored 4 times to lead the Porters in the losing effort, but had his last minute shot denied by Vikings' goalie Jakobi McClellan.

 

Lincoln-Way North 17 Stagg 12

Jake Roberts poured in 10 goals to lead the Phoenix to a 17-12 triumph over Stagg on Thursday.

 

Lyons 18 Morton 5

Joe Shannon, Kovas Zygas, and Nathan Krna each scored 2 times to help lead the Lions past Morton by an 18-5 score.

 

Payton-Jones 12 Washington 4

Joe Spadoro notched 6 goals in Payton-Jones' 12-4 victory over Washington on Thursday afternoon.

 

St Ignatius 9 DeLaSalle 5

Billy Barth scored 4 goals and Jaime Juarez tallied 3 scores as the Wolfpack downed the Meteors 9-5 on Thursday. Robert Rodriguez scored 3 times in the loss for DLS.

 

GIRLS

Andrew 10 Bradley 4

Abbey Wrobel, AnnaMarie Lettiere, and Laura Freeman each scored 3 times and Jordan Bartolini made 15 saves to help lift the T-Bolts to a 10-4 win over Bradley. Lindsey Tamulonis also scored once in the win for Andrew.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 9 Lockport 6

Rebecca Mathews registered 5 goals and Anna Tenny scored 3 times as H-F fended off Lockport 9-6 on Thursday night. Claire Duncan added one score for the Vikings in their winning effort. Six different girls notched goals for the Porters, while Kim Sexton made 6 saves in the losing effort.

 

Lincoln-Way North 19 Stagg 8

Jenna Tasic recorded 4 goals to lead the Phoenix past the Chargers 19-8 in a SWSC match.

 

Loyola 13 Evanston 7

Marta Considine scored 5 goals and both Evan Swenson and Katie Lynch recorded 3 scores as Loyola knocked off Evanston 13-7. Meredith O'Brien also saved 13 shots in the Ramblers' win.

 

Lyons 19 Morton 5

Frankie Dellman and Meredith Land each scored 3 goals as LT defeated Morton 19-5 on Thursday.

 

Payton-Jones 9 Washington 0

Ana Schcolnik recorded a shutout in goal and both Annika Schick and Rebecca Sudworth tallied 2 scores as Payton-Jones earned a 9-0 victory over Washington in a CPS contest.

 

Sandburg 10 Lincoln-Way East 2

Jamie Pappanastos scored 5 goals and Tara Capouch added 2 scores as the Eagles busted out to an 8-0 lead before beating LWE 10-2 on Thursday. Abby Bean, Kaitlyn Randich, and Maggie Foley each notched a goal in the win for Sandburg. Tricia Paul blocked 17 shots in the loss for the Griffins.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Homewood-Flossmoor at Lockport

The Porters (7-1) will be looking to send a message to the rest of the SWSC when they play host to H-F (6-5) on Thursday; both teams have yet to lose a conference game and will be looking for the early advantage in the Blue Division when they do battle on Thursday.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Stagg at Lincoln-Way North

The Phoenix (4-1) look for their second big win of Week 4 when they take on the visiting Chargers (6-2) in a SWSC Red contest on Thursday. Both teams have had impressive starts to their respective seasons and will be looking for a victory and some valuable momentum as the season approaches its' midpoint.

 

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Loyola at Evanston

Both the Ramblers (6-6) and Wildkits (4-7) will look to get their respective seasons headed in the right direction when they meet for another edition of their rivalry in Evanston on Thursday night.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Lockport at Homewood-Flossmoor

The Vikings (5-4) look to avoid an upset when the surging Porters (4-3) come to town for a SWSC Red contest on Thursday afternoon; Lockport is on the edge of the Top 25 and could use a big win to prove they are for real, while Pat Duignan's squad will hope for a momentum-building win against the Porters.
