Preview
The Wolves will try to repeat
as tournament champions of their own event
when they host an eight-team event that kicks off on Friday
afternoon. Niles West plays in a group that contains Maine West, St
Rita, and Waubonsie Valley; the other group pits DLS, Metea Valley, Stagg
and Von Steuben against one another. The championship
round decides the fate of all eight teams and begins on Saturday
afternoon.

shots and forced 7 turnovers to lead the Wolves to a 17-7 win over
Waubonsie Valley. Miguel Paloma also scored 3 times in the win for the
hosts. Cameron Steele led the Warriors with 6 goals in the losing
effort.

Nick Amendola totaled 6 goals to lead the Chargers past Metea Valley
15-7.

Roberto Rodriguez scored 5 goals to lead the Meteors past Von Steuben
25-11 on Saturday.

Cameron Steele scored 8 times for Waubonsie Valley while Brendan Atwood
tallied 6 scores for West as the two squads finished in a 13-13 tie on
Saturday morning.

Nick Amendola totaled 3 goals as a balanced Chargers' attack secured a
16-7 victory over Von Steuben.

Metea Valley 17-13 to win the fifth-place game of the event. Keegan
Reilly scored 7 times in the loss for the Mustangs.
Niles West 11 DLS 10
Adrian Durakovic and Max Yusim each scored fourth-quarter goals after
goalie Matt Lefler tied the game at the end of the third quarter as
Niles West completed an amazing comeback to beat DLS 11-10 in the third
place game of the Wolves' own tournament. The hosts trailed 7-1 after
the opening period but battled back to claim the victory. Durakovic
tallied 5 goals, Yusim scored 3 times, and Lefler blocked 12 shots,
including a penalty shot, in the win. Roberto Rodriguez scored 5 goals
in the loss for the Meteors.
St Rita 12 Stagg 11 (OT)
Eric Johnson scored the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime to
send St Rita past Stagg 12-11 in the title game of the Niles West
Tournament on Saturday. Johnson totaled 5 goals to lead the Mustangs to
the win.
