Caroline Walsh poured in 5 goals and Emma Hirt added 3 scores in the
Lions' 15-5 win over Mundelein. Grace Wackerman and Julia Cohen each
added 2 goals in the win for the hosts.
Evanston 4 Neuqua Valley 2
The Wildkits clinched a berth in the event's title game as Olivia
Everhart allowed only two goals in a 4-2 win over Neuqua Valley. Zoe
Salafatinos scored both goals and Issi French made 23 saves in the
loss for the Wildcats.
Lyons 20 Glenbrook South 3
Sara McTigue scored 4 goals, Julia Cohen netted 3 scores and six
other players (Almasa Duheric, Annika Moore, Caroline Walsh, Erin
Yang, Grace Wackerman, Maddie Cordell) tallied 2 scores for the
Lions as they defeated GBS 20-3. Jessie Wittenberg also made 7 saves
in the win for the hosts.
Neuqua Valley 7 Bremen 5
Morgan Miller registered 3 scores, Zoe Salafatinos notched 2 scores,
and Issi French blocked 14 shots to help the Wildcats earn a 7-5
victory over Bremen.
Bremen 10 GBS 6
Gretchen Behrens, Jillian Schultz, and Leah Wood each scored 2 goals
to lead the Red Jaguars to a 10-6 win over GBS in the fifth-place
game of the Lyons Tournament. Andie Stronach, Brittany Lira, Hannah
Alvarez and Sam Toland each added one goal in the win. Dana Grad
tallied 3 scores, Kelly Klish put in 2 scores, and Anna Hofmockel
netted one goal in the losing effort.
Mundelein 7 Neuqua Valley 6
The Mustangs closed out their tournament weekend with a second
straight win and a third place finish at the Lyons Tourney after
beating Neuqua Valley 7-6. In the loss, Morgan Miller recorded 5
goals and Issi French stopped 16 shots for NVHS. Sarah Neary also
scored once in the losing effort.
Lyons 10 Evanston 9 (OT)
Caroline Walsh nailed the game-winning goal in sudden death overtime
to send Lyons past Evanston 10-9 on Saturday in the title game of
the LT Tournament. Walsh totaled 5 goals while Julia Cohen and
Kaysie Stuba each netted 2 goals for the winners. Grace Wackerman
also added one score while Cohen dished out 5 assists and Walsh drew
5 ejections.
