Albijon Purelku notched 5 scores and Sam Paloma netted 3 score as the Wolves fended off Mundelein 9-8. Ryan Zentz scored 5 goals and Jake Garcia tallied 2 scores in the losing effort.

Tony Spallone netted 3 scores and John Merucci added 2 scores as the Ramblers topped Niles West 13-5. Albijon Purelku scored 4 goals in the loss for the Wolves.

Ben Lulich and Nate Fisher each scored 3 goals as the Friars held off St Ignatius 9-7. Bradley Yendro scored 2 times and Jimmy Howarth stopped 13 shots in the loss.

Nate Mattingly scored 4 goals as the Jr Bills outlasted Lyons 7-6 in extra time on Saturday. Victor Perez notched 3 scores and Frank McCarter scored 2 times in the loss for LT.

Payton Comstock registered 5 goals, Dan Bajda scored 4 times and Ben Lulich scored 3 goals as the Friars knocked off Niles West 18-3.

Conor Shannon scored 4 times for the Wolfpack while Francisco Ruiz notched 5 scores as SICP and Niles West finished in an 8-8 tie after two overtime periods on Saturday.

ST PATRICK TOURNAMENT

St Patrick Wins Tournament

The Shamrocks held off Evanston 5-4 in overtime on Friday night and knocked off Lane on Saturday to advance to their own event's championship round. Later on Saturday, the hosts defeated LWE 6-3 and Maine South 10-2 to claim the tournament title.

 

St Rita 9 Homewood-Flossmoor 5

Chris Jimenez and Nate Cruz both scored 2 goals in the Mustangs' 9-5 triumph over H-F on Friday.

 

Lincoln-Way East 8 Brother Rice 5; Lincoln-Way East 6 Andrew 3

Adam Hudson scored 5 goals, Tyler Orloff netted 3 goals and Collin McGovern totaled 12 saves as the Griffins defeated both Brother Rice and Andrew on Friday night.

 

St Rita 7 Andrew 6

Daniel Burns scored 4 goals to lead the Mustangs to a 7-6 victory over Andrew.

MAINE EAST TOURNAMENT

Sandburg Wins Tournament

The Eagles earned preliminary round wins over the hosts and Taft before beating Highland Park 15-5 in the event's championship game. For the week, the Eagles went 5-1 with Joey Jenkot (20 goals, 16 assists), Josh Grella (18 goals, 13 assists), Kyle Fox (14 goals, 9 assists) and Mike Rzesowicz (10 goals, 10 assists) leading the way.

 

Jones-Payton 8 Libertyville 7

Tunch Ozyurt registered 3 scores to help the Eagles fend off Libertyville 8-7.

 

Jones-Payton 11 Taft 10 (3 OT)

Dante Ragozzino and Jafet Reyes each scored 3 goals to lead the Eagles past Taft 11-10 in triple-overtime on Saturday in the event's third-place game.
