Represent Illinois Dominance
Illinois water polo teams went 7-2 at the I-55 Showdown behind a
pair of 3-0 performances from OPRF and Stevenson over the weekend.
Mitchell Sokolsky scored 11 goals and Taylor Baretz added 10 scores to
help the Patriots beat MICDS on Friday and both Ladue and Parkway West on
Saturday. The Huskies did the same behind an 11-goal performance from
Nathan Pimentel and a combined 12 goals from Alex Darnall and Mark
Hallman. Libertyville also earned a win over MICDS on Friday, but lost an
overtime heartbreaker to Ladue on Saturday morning and then fell at the
hands of Parkway West in the afternoon.

Jeremy Kucera tallied 5 goals and Adam King and Noah Marcus each added 3
scores as Libertyville beat MICDS 14-9.
Oak Park 15 Ladue 11
Alex Darnall and Nathan Pimentel both recorded 4 goals and Mark Hallman
put in 3 scores in the Huskies' 15-11 victory over Ladue.
Stevenson 11 Parkway West 8
Varun Mummadi scored 4 goals and Mitchell Sokolsky netted 3 scores as
Stevenson fended off Parkway West 11-8 on Friday night. Taylor Baretz also
notched 2 scores and Rob O'Brien stopped 17 shots in the win for the hosts.

Stevenson 11 MICDS 4
Remy Dalloul tallied 4 scores, Taylor Baretz notched 3 scores, and
Mitchell Sokolsky scored 2 times in Stevenson's 11-4 win over MICDS. Rob
O'Brien also stopped 14 shots in the win for the Patriots.
Oak Park 17 Parkway West 12
Nathan Pimentel scored 5 goals to lead the Huskies to a 17-12 win over
Parkway West. Paval Simonovic also scored 3 times in the OPRF victory.
Ladue 11 Libertyville 10 (OT)
Jeremy Kucera scored 4 goals and Adam King netted 3 scores as Libertyville
dropped an overtime thriller to Ladue by an 11-10 margin.
Oak Park 8 MICDS 6
Mark Hallman put in 3 goals and both James Kelly and Nathan Pimentel
tallied 2 scores as OPRF topped MICDS 8-6 on Saturday.
Parkway West 21 Libertyville 6
Missouri-based Parkway West claimed their only win of the tournament by
beating Libertyville 21-6. Adam King scored 3 times in the loss for the
Wildcats.
Stevenson 15 Ladue 4
Mitchell Sokolsky keyed a 6-0 run to start the game with four of his
game-high 6 goals as Stevenson beat Ladue 15-4 to end the tournament with
a perfect record. Taylor Baretz also scored 5 goals in the win for the
hosts. Jonathan McCullogh and Remy Dalloul also scored 2 times apiece and
Rob O'Brien blocked 8 shots in the win for the Patriots.
