Thursday's Game Recaps
Fenwick 13 Homewood-Flossmoor 6
Danny Farmer netted 5 goals and Mike Hill saved 8 shots as the Friars
began their own tournament with a 13-6 victory over H-F in a state
quarterfinal rematch from 2013. Eight other Fenwick players scored once in
the winning effort, helping the squad improve to 5-0 in 2014. Broc
Thompson and Haden Santefort each scored 2 goals in the loss for the
Vikings.
Oak Park 7 Curie 4
Mark Hallman registered 3 goals, Josh Gronwold put in 2 scores, and both
Alex West and Lawrence Cozzi added one goal in OPRF's 7-4 victory over
Curie. Oscar Hernandez tallied 2 scores and both Ivan Ariza and Jeronimo
Chavez each scored once in the loss.
Lyons 8 St Patrick 7
Nathan Kriha scored 4 goals and George Duffy notched 2 scores as the
Lions held off St Patrick 8-7 on Thursday. Connor O'Rourke scored 4
times in the loss for the Shamrocks.
Brother Rice 15 Lincoln-Way East 5
Peter Gurka recorded 4 goals and both Dan Whalen and Matt Bachler
contributed 3 scores as Brother Rice bounced back from a loss to St Rita
by beating LWE 15-5 on Thursday evening. Luke Healy also scored 2 times
in the win for the Crusaders. Nate Drewes led the Griffins with 3 scores
in the team's first contest of the new campaign.
St Ignatius 10 Stevenson 7
Billy Barth poured in 8 goals and both Gunnar Glaab and Tom Dowling
chipped in with one score as SICP defeated Stevenson 10-7. Shane Hughes
also made 10 saves in the win for the Wolfpack. Andrew Shashin and Mitchell Sokolsky each registered 2 scores in the loss for
the Patriots.
Curie 13 Homewood-Flossmoor 8
Jeronimo Chavez notched 8 goals and Ivan Ariza added 5 scores to lift
the Condors to a 13-8 triumph over H-F. Marcus Perry led the Vikings'
offense with 2 scores in the losing effort.

Danny Farmer scored 3 goals and Mike Hill blocked 6 shots as Fenwick
defeated Oak Park 10-3. Bailey Wendt and Omar Calderon each added 2 goals,
while Andrew Bertschy, David Durkin, and DJ Perez all chipped in with one
score in the Friars' win. Mark Hallman recorded 2 goals and Lee Werner
chipped in with one score in the Huskies' loss.
St Ignatius 7 Neuqua Valley 4
Billy Barth recorded 4 goals and Shane Hughes blocked 15 shots and
contributed 4 assists as St Ignatius beat Neuqua Valley 7-4. Tom Dowling
also netted 2 scores and John Reyes chipped in with one score in the
Wolfpack's win. Simon Shatinsky led the Wildcats' offense with 2 goals on
the night.
Naperville Central 10 St Patrick 6
Kyle Jackson recorded 5 goals and Christian May added 3 scores as Naperville
Central earned a 10-6 win over St Patrick. Joe Bigenwald and Phillip Emden
each scored once in the Redhawks' victory. Dan Walsh scored 3 goals, Connor
O'Rourke put in 2 scores, and Eric Arroyo scored once in the loss for Pats.
Naperville North 16 Lincoln-Way East 6
Drake McClure registered 4 goals, Gianmarco Duin put in 3 scores, and nine
other Huskies' scored once as Naperville North defeated LWE 16-6 on Friday
night. Declan Flaherty and Nate Drewes both recorded 2 goals in the losing
effort for the Griffins.
Stevenson 18 Neuqua Valley 8
Alex Kapecki and Mitchell Sokolsky scored 5 goals apiece and Andrew Shashin
added 4 scores to help Stevenson claim an 18-8 victory over Neuqua Valley.
Ian Ivkovich and Simon Shatinsky each tallied 3 scores in the loss for the
Wildcats.
Naperville Central 11 Lyons 10
Philip Emden recorded 4 goals and Kyle Jackson notched 3 scores to help the
Redhawks fend off Lyons 11-10 on Friday evening. George Lundgren scored 5
goals, Nathan Kriha added 3 scores, and George Duffy netted 2 goals in the
loss for the Lions.
Naperville North 11 Brother Rice 10
Luke Landiak connected on the game-winning goal with twenty seconds
remaining after Nolan Roberts found him open after a steal to help
Naperville North escape with an 11-10 victory over Brother Rice. Moments
earlier, Ryan Towers scored the game-tying goal after taking a pass from
Gianmarco Duin to help technically secure North's spot in the semifinals (a
tie would have sent the Huskies to the semifinals by virtue of a
tiebreaker). The Huskies overcame a late two-goal deficit to earn the win
after relinquishing a 4-1 lead after the opening period. Roberts tallied 7
goals to lead the victors, while Drake McClure and Joe Tomashek also scored
one goal apiece. Dan Whalen tallied 5 goals and Matt Bachler put in 4 scores
in the loss for the Crusaders.
Saturday's Game Recaps
Curie 10 Lincoln-Way East 1
Jeronimo Chavez recorded 8 goals to lead the Condors to a 10-1 win over
LWE on Saturday morning. Dylan Franco and Oscar Hernandez each added one
score in the win for Curie. Andrew Haberman put in the only goal in the
loss for the Griffins.
Neuqua Valley 6 Homewood-Flossmoor 3
Brett Whaley scored 2 times and Ian Ivkovich, Joey Dalesandro, Mike
Delsignore, and Simon Shatinsky each added one score as the Wildcats
grabbed their first win of the tournament after beating the Vikings 6-3.
Broc Thompson led H-F with 2 scores in the losing effort.
Fenwick 9 Naperville Central 5
Danny Farmer registered 5 goals and both Bailey Wendt and Omar Calderon
notched 2 scores as Fenwick moved on to the title game of their own event
by beating the Redhawks 9-5. MIke Hill denied 7 shots and a penalty
attempt to help secure the win. Kyle Jackson totaled 3 scores and Nick
Walker tallied 2 goals for Central.
Naperville North 7 St Ignatius 4
Drake McClure scored 2 goals and Joe Tomashek made 10 saves in an
emergency start as the Huskies defeated St Ignatius 7-4 to advance to play
Fenwick in the event's title game. Albert Yao, Gianmarco Duin, Luke
Landiak, Nolan Roberts, and Ryan Towers each added one goal in the win for
North. Billy Barth, Gunnar Glaab, John Reyes, and Tom Dowling each tallied
goal in the loss for SICP.
Lyons 10 Oak Park 5
Natha Kriha recorded 5 goals and both George Duffy and Matt Baldassarre
netted 2 goals to help Lyons beat Oak Park 10-5. George Lundgren also
scored once in the win for the Lions. Robbie Wickes tallied 3 scores in
the loss for the Huskies.
Stevenson 10 Brother Rice 9
Andrew Shashin and Zach Stephens each scored 4 times and Mitchell Sokolsky
chipped in with 2 goals as Stevenson fended off Brother Rice 10-9. Luke
Healy and Tommy Davey each notched 3 scores and Matt Bachler scored 2
times in the loss for the Crusaders.

Jeronimo Chavez recorded 5 goals and both Dylan Franco and Manny Martinez
scored once as Curie beat St Patrick 7-4 to finish the Fenwick Tournament
with a 3-1 record.
Homewood-Flossmoor 11 Lincoln-Way East 5
Broc Thompson and Haden Santefort each registered 4 scores to help lead
the Vikings to an 11-5 victory over LWE on Saturday afternoon.

Connor O'Rourke tallied 6 scores to lead the Shamrocks to an 8-6 win over
the Wildcats. Simon Shatinsky netted 3 scores and Scott DePuy added 2
goals in the loss for Neuqua Valley.
Stevenson 6 Lyons 4 (5th place)
Andrew Shashin and Mitchell Sokolsky both scored 2 goals and the Stevenson
defense held the Lions scoreless in the final period to emerge with a 6-4
victory in the fifth-place game on Saturday.
Oak Park 8 Brother Rice 1 (7th place)
Mark Hallman recorded 4 goals to lead the Huskies to an 8-1 win over
Brother Rice in the seventh-place game. Matt Bachler tallied the lone goal
in the loss for the Crusaders.
Naperville North 11 Fenwick 10 (1st place)
Gianmarco Duin scored 4 goals, Drake McClure added 3 scores, and Luke
Landiak scored 2 goals as the Huskies beat the Friars 11-10 to win the
Fenwick Tournament on Saturday night. Garrett Nash and Nolan Roberts also
scored once for North, who rebounded from a 5-3 halftime deficit to beat
the hosts for the first time in team history. Danny Farmer scored 3 times,
both Omar Calderon and Ryan Masi recorded 2 goals, and the trio of Andrew
Bertschy, Bailey Wendt, and DJ Perez scored once in the loss for Fenwick.
St Ignatius 15 Naperville Central 9 (3rd place)
Shane Hughes netted 6 goals, John Reyes put in 3 goals, and Billy Barth
recorded 2 scores as St Ignatius topped Naperville Central 15-9 to claim
third place at the Fenwick Tournament on Saturday. Christian May totaled 4
scores and Nick Walker notched 2 scores in the loss for the Redhawks.
