GAME PREVIEWS (Saturday, March 22)

 

 

 

FEATURED EVENT

FENWICK TOURNAMENT

The 15th annual Dan Lynch Classic hosted by Fenwick High School always features several of the top teams in the state of Illinois. This year is no exception, as the three-day event includes the top four teams and 12 of the current Top 25 squads. The teams begin the championship round on Saturday morning and build all the way to the title game at 5:10pm.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

EVANSTON TOURNAMENT

The Evanston Tournament gets underway on Friday night with five  teams playing five games to get the weekend started. The hosts battle GBS and St Viator, GBN faces GBS, and Bremen faces both GBS and St Viator on Friday night.

 

MUNDELEIN TOURNAMENT

Mundelein's second annual tournament casts a wide variety of teams from across the Chicagoland-area in an eight-team, sixteen-game event that begins on Friday afternoon. The hosts belong to a group with New Trier, Hoffman, and Lindbergh; the second group consists of Fremd, Hinsdale Central, Libertyville, and Lockport. The event culminates with a championship round beginning at 2:30pm on Saturday.

 

LWN TOURNAMENT

The five-team LWN Tournament features a visit from Missouri's Christian Brothers College High School, while also welcoming three other Illinois teams (LWC, STC North, Waubonsie Valley). The eight-game event begins early on Saturday morning.

 

MAINE EAST TOURNAMENT

The Blue Demons' host a wide-variety of teams from across the state of Illinois in a two-day affair that will culminate in a championship round on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are also joined by Bradley, BG, Maine South, Metea Valley, Niles West, Northside, and Von Steuben.

 

SCHAUMBURG TOURNAMENT

The Saxons' annual tournament is a two-day, eight-team, sixteen-game event that features teams that range from Missouri (Lafayette) to Chicago (Whitney Young) and just about everywhere else in between (LWW, McHenry, St Rita, Wheeling, York).

FEATURED EVENT

NAPERVILLE CENTRAL TOURNAMENT

The Redhawks' tournament features an eclectic mix of six teams from around the state; the first two games of the event begin on Friday night, with the hosts taking on Homewood-Flossmoor and Mother McAuley doing battle with Waubonsie Valley. Fremd and STC East join the festivities on Saturday and the tournament concludes with a mid-afternoon championship round.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

BREMEN TOURNAMENT

The preliminary round of the Bremen Tournament gets underway on Friday night, as the hosts welcome Argo, Hinsdale South, Marian, Morton, Richards, Stagg  and a team to be named later for an eight-team event.

 

GBS TOURNAMENT

The four-team GBS Tournament kicks off on Friday night with two contests and continues on Saturday as the Titans, Hersey, Palatine, and York mix it up in a six-game round-robin event.

 

GULLIVER PREP TOURNAMENT

Top-ranked Fenwick heads down to Miami to play in the Gulliver Prep Tournament, where they will face some of the toughest competition from the southern part of the Sunshine state. In fact, the Friars first contest sees them square off with the hosts, who happen to be Florida's defending state champions, at 11:00am on Friday. Fenwick also plays Olympia on Friday and against Lake Brantley, Miami Beach, and Westminster on Saturday.

 

JONES-PAYTON TOURNAMENT

Jones-Payton hosts a six-team, nine-game event that features the likes of Deerfield, Niles West, Ogden, Taft, and Whitney Young.

 

MAINE SOUTH TOURNAMENT

The Hawks have expanded their tournament to a six-team, championship-round format for 2014, as both Bradley and Libertyville are the new faces that will join Evanston, Highland Park, and Maine East in an event that kicks off on Friday night and concludes with a title game on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are in a group with Evanston and Libertyville, while the second group consists of Bradley, HP, and Maine East.

 

NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

The Huskies host their second straight tournament of the 2014 season, as they welcome Loyola, Neuqua Valley, and R-B for a mix of Varsity and JV games on Friday and Saturday. The hosts face nearby NVHS in the tournament opener, while the Ramblers and Bulldogs do battle on the first night's second contest. The teams play four more games on Saturday morning for a grand total of six games over the weekend.

FENWICK TOURNAMENT

Curie 10 Lincoln-Way East 1

Jeronimo Chavez recorded 8 goals to lead the Condors to a 10-1 win over LWE on Saturday morning. Dylan Franco and Oscar Hernandez each added one score in the win for Curie. Andrew Haberman put in the only goal in the loss for the Griffins.

 

Neuqua Valley 6 Homewood-Flossmoor 3

Brett Whaley scored 2 times and Ian Ivkovich, Joey Dalesandro, Mike Delsignore, and Simon Shatinsky each added one score as the Wildcats grabbed their first win of the tournament after beating the Vikings 6-3. Broc Thompson led H-F with 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

Fenwick 9 Naperville Central 5

Danny Farmer registered 5 goals and both Bailey Wendt and Omar Calderon notched 2 scores as Fenwick moved on to the title game of their own event by beating the Redhawks 9-5. MIke Hill denied 7 shots and a penalty attempt to help secure the win. Kyle Jackson totaled 3 scores and Nick Walker tallied 2 goals for Central.

 

Naperville North 7 St Ignatius 4

Drake McClure scored 2 goals and Joe Tomashek made 10 saves in an emergency start as the Huskies defeated St Ignatius 7-4 to advance to play Fenwick in the event's title game. Albert Yao, Gianmarco Duin, Luke Landiak, Nolan Roberts, and Ryan Towers each added one goal in the win for North. Billy Barth, Gunnar Glaab, John Reyes, and Tom Dowling each tallied goal in the loss for SICP.

 

Lyons 10 Oak Park 5

Natha Kriha recorded 5 goals and both George Duffy and Matt Baldassarre netted 2 goals to help Lyons beat Oak Park 10-5. George Lundgren also scored once in the win for the Lions. Robbie Wickes tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Stevenson 10 Brother Rice 9

Andrew Shashin and Zach Stephens each scored 4 times and Mitchell Sokolsky chipped in with 2 goals as Stevenson fended off Brother Rice 10-9. Luke Healy and Tommy Davey each notched 3 scores and Matt Bachler scored 2 times in the loss for the Crusaders.

 

Curie 7 St Patrick 4

Jeronimo Chavez recorded 5 goals and both Dylan Franco and Manny Martinez scored once as Curie beat St Patrick 7-4 to finish the Fenwick Tournament with a 3-1 record.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 11 Lincoln-Way East 5

Broc Thompson and Haden Santefort each registered 4 scores to help lead the Vikings to an 11-5 victory over LWE on Saturday afternoon.

 

St Patrick 8 Neuqua Valley 6

Connor O'Rourke tallied 6 scores to lead the Shamrocks to an 8-6 win over the Wildcats. Simon Shatinsky netted 3 scores and Scott DePuy added 2 goals in the loss for Neuqua Valley.

 

Stevenson 6 Lyons 4 (5th place)

Andrew Shashin and Mitchell Sokolsky both scored 2 goals and the Stevenson defense held the Lions scoreless in the final period to emerge with a 6-4 victory in the fifth-place game on Saturday.

 

Oak Park 8 Brother Rice 1 (7th place)

Mark Hallman recorded 4 goals to lead the Huskies to an 8-1 win over Brother Rice in the seventh-place game. Matt Bachler tallied the lone goal in the loss for the Crusaders.

 

Naperville North 11 Fenwick 10 (1st place)

Gianmarco Duin scored 4 goals, Drake McClure added 3 scores, and Luke Landiak scored 2 goals as the Huskies beat the Friars 11-10 to win the Fenwick Tournament on Saturday night. Garrett Nash and Nolan Roberts also scored once for North, who rebounded from a 5-3 halftime deficit to beat the hosts for the first time in team history. Danny Farmer scored 3 times, both Omar Calderon and Ryan Masi recorded 2 goals, and the trio of Andrew Bertschy, Bailey Wendt, and DJ Perez scored once in the loss for Fenwick.

 

St Ignatius 15 Naperville Central 9 (3rd place)

Shane Hughes netted 6 goals, John Reyes put in 3 goals, and Billy Barth recorded 2 scores as St Ignatius topped Naperville Central 15-9 to claim third place at the Fenwick Tournament on Saturday. Christian May totaled 4 scores and Nick Walker notched 2 scores in the loss for the Redhawks.

 

 

EVANSTON TOURNAMENT

St Viator 7 Glenbrook South 4

The Lions defeated GBS 7-4 to win the Evanston Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Eric Sutton and Patrick Gallant each scored 2 goals, while Connor Loy, Keegan Finn, and Shea Boyer each tallied one score. Frank Skorski led the defense with 10 saves in the victory. Brant Boczek, Cole Hamilton, Danny Dragman, and Jake Nelson each tallied one score in the loss for the Titans.

 

Glenbrook South 9 Glenbrook North 7

Brant Boczek led the Titans offense with 6 goals as they topped GBN 9-7 to finish the Evanston Tourney with a 3-1 record.

 

St Viator 16 Bremen 7

Keegan Finn poured in 7 goals and Eric Sutton scored 4 times as the Lions upended Bremen 16-7. Alex Resendez and Tommy Madaras each added 2 scores in the win for St Viator.

 

 

HINSDALE SOUTH TOURNAMENT

Andrew 18 STC East 0

Chuck Walters scored 4 goals, Andrew Wojdyla netted 3 scores, and Tim Yara blocked 7 shots and made 5 steals as the T-Bolts shutout STC East 18-0. Eric Tamulonis and Zack Rentner both added one goal and 4 assists in the victory, which was the first shutout for Andrew since 2008.

 

Andrew 17 Morton 2

Eric Tamulonis scored 4 times, Chuck Walters put in 3 scores, and Dan Cavato netted 2 goals as Andrew defeated Morton 17-2.

 

Andrew 16 Hinsdale South 4

Eric Tamulonis totaled 4 goals and 4 assists and Tim Yara blocked 11 shots and added 3 assists as the T-Bolts beat the Hornets to claim the Hinsdale South Tournament trophy on Saturday afternoon. Andrew Wojdyla and Kyle Fitzgerald each added 3 scores in the win for the champions.

 

 

LWN TOURNAMENT

STC North 8 CBC 5

John Pretet, Nick Traxler, and Ross Davis each tallied 2 scores to lead the North Stars to an 8-5 win over CBC. Ryan Helfers and Tim Steele each added a goal in the winning effort.

 

STC North 9 Lincoln-Way Central 9

John Pretet and Nick Traxler each recorded 4 goals and Ross Davis netted one score as STC North and LWC finished in a 9-9 tie on Saturday morning.

 

STC North 10 Lincoln-Way North 5

John Pretet registered 5 goals and Nick Traxler added one score in the North Stars' 10-5 win over LWN. John Quinn, Ryan Helfers, and Tim Steele each added one goal in the win.

 

 

MAINE EAST TOURNAMENT

Niles West 15 Northside 4

Steven Renko recorded 6 goals to help lead Niles West past Northside 15-4 on Saturday morning.

 

Maine East 13 Metea Valley 5

James Caldwell registered 4 goals, Mike Babula notched 3 scores, and both Krystof Maniewski and Ricky Pokorski scored 2 times in the Blue Demons' 13-5 win over Metea Valley.

 

Von Steuben 12 Metea Valley 9

Hayden Petersen recorded 4 goals to lead Von Steuben past Metea Valley 12-9.

 

Maine South 13 Bradley 8 (3rd place)

The Hawks claimed third place with a 13-8 victory over Bradley. Nick Dalzell scored 5 times in the loss for the Boilers.

 

Niles West 10 Maine East 5 (1st place)

Kyle Patt and Steven Renko each scored 3 times, Max Yusim registered 2 goals, and Matt Lefler blocked 13 shots as the Wolves beat the hosts 10-5 to claim the Maine East Tournament title over the weekend. James Caldwell, Krystof Maniewski, Mateo Kozomara, Mike Babula, and Ricky Pokorski each scored once in the loss for the Blue Demons.

 

 

SCHAUMBURG TOURNAMENT

Schaumburg 8 Lincoln-Way West 5

James Birriel recorded 5 goals and Tyler Gustafson added 3 scores in the Saxons' 8-5 victory over LWW on Saturday morning. Robert Bach also blocked 5 shots in the Schaumburg win. Jake Carlson notched 4 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Lafayette 5 Wheeling 4

Rastko Stojsin recorded 2 goals to help Lafayette edge Wheeling 5-4 on Saturday. Nate Reiff scored all 4 goals in the narrow loss for the Wildcats.

 

St Rita 10 McHenry 5

Chuck Henrichs and Dan Carone both scored 3 times as the Mustangs knocked off McHenry 10-5. Kevin Braun tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

 

York 9 Whitney Young 3

Joe Kesslering totaled 5 goals and Wil Hubert netted 2 scores in the Dukes' 9-3 win over Whitney Young. Ben Howlett and Casey Callans each added a goal for York in the win.

 

Schaumburg 16 Wheeling 10

Austin Borst and James Birriel both recorded 4 goals and Tyler Gustafson netted 3 scores as Schaumburg beat Wheeling 16-10. Robert Bach also made 10 saves to help the Saxons advance to the title game of their own event. Nate Reiff totaled 8 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Lincoln-Way West 12 Lafayette 8

Jake Carlson slammed home 5 shots and both Collin and Kyle Karplunk recorded 2 goals as the Warriors downed Lafayette 12-8. Rastko Stojsin tallied 3 scores while Brent Huffines and Michael Murphy both put in 2 scores in the loss for the Lancers.

 

York 10 St Rita 7

Wil Hubert notched 4 scores and both Logan Frendreis and Matt Rodriguez netted 2 scores in York's 10-7 win over St Rita. Joe Kesslering and Kolin Bergl each added one score in the Dukes' victory, which sees them advance to the event's title game on Saturday night against the hosts. Eric Johnson scored 3 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

McHenry 11 Whitney Young 5

Garrett Floden and Kevin Braun each scored 3 goals while Matt Peck and Myles Lucas both put in 2 scores in the Warriors' 11-5 victory over the Dolphins. Duncan McDonald led Young with 2 scores in the loss.

 

Whitney Young 12 Wheeling 11 (7th place)

Daniel Shumaker tallied 5 scores and Duncan McDonald added 3 goals as the Dolphins edged the Wildcats for seventh place with a 12-11 victory on Saturday afternoon. Nate Reiff scored a whopping 10 goals in the losing effort for Wheeling.

 

McHenry 10 Lafayette 7 (5th place)

Garrett Floden registered 3 scores and Matt Peck notched 2 scores to help McHenry beat Lafayette 10-7 in the fifth-place game of the Schaumburg Tournament. Michael Murphy led the Lancers with 3 goals and Rastko Stojsin netted 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

St Rita 16 Lincoln-Way West 7 (3rd place)

Eric Johnson recorded 6 goals and Dan Sliazas added 5 scores in the Mustangs' 16-7 triumph over LWW in the third-place game. Jake Carlson netted 5 goals in the losing effort for the Warriors.

 

York 11 Schaumburg 10 (OT) (1st place)

Jordan Jopes scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Ben Howlett in extra time as York claimed the Schaumburg Tournament by beating the hosts 11-10 on Saturday night. Wil Hubert scored 3 goals and Casey Callans and Timmy Matsas both scored 2 goals in the Dukes' victory. Austin Borst, James Birriel, Dan Skiroock, Tyler Gustafson, and Ryan Petritis each scored 2 times and Robert Bach made 8 saves in the loss for the Saxons.

Grace Fielen and Perri Brinkmeier both registered 3 goals and Kathleen O'Brien scored 2 times as York earned a 13-3 win over GBS. Maddie Kliebahn stopped 9 shots in the victory for the Dukes.

 

Palatine 6 Hersey 3

Rachel Chumbook scored 4 goals and drew 4 ejections, Caroline Wojtas scored the other 2 goals, and Kim Butler blocked 15 shots in Palatine's 6-3 victory over Hersey. Katie Lindholm, Katie Lutz, and Natalie Curtis each tallied one goal in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Palatine 12 York 4

Maryana Dvorska and Rachel Chumbook each registered 3 goals and both Caroline Wojtas and Mathilde Mogensen scored 2 times as Palatine downed York 12-4. Callie Gilsenan and Jackie Kincanon each added one goal and Kim Butler recorded 8 saves in the Pirates' win. Ellie Fitzpatrick, Grace Feilen, and Kirsten Rasnic all scored one time in the losing effort for the Dukes.

 

 

GULLIVER PREP TOURNAMENT

Fenwick finished 4-1 in Florida at the Gulliver Prep Tournament over the weekend after earning a three-game sweep on Saturday. They earned a 9-3 win over Westminster in the morning, followed that with an 18-2 victory over Miami Beach a few hours later, then closed things out with a 10-4 victory over Lake Brantley.

 

 

JONES-PAYTON TOURNAMENT

Jones-Payton 10 Ogden 0

Alina Hilery and Rebecca Sudworth each scored 2 goals to help the Eagles beat Ogden 10-0 on Saturday.

 

Whitney Young 11 Deerfield 2

Audrey Anderson and Fairie Hughes both registered 3 scores to help the Dolphins get past Deerfield 11-2. Itzy Rodriguez and Tori Young both added 2 scores and Kennedy Baldwin tallied one score in the victory. Naomi Willis and Sarah Kulik each scored one goal in the losing effort.

 

Niles West 16 Ogden 5

Lauren Patt scored 6 goals to help Niles West beat Ogden 16-5 on Saturday. Brianna Jones led Ogden with 2 scores in the loss.

 

Taft 13 Deerfield 10

Caroline Hoffman recorded 5 goals to help Taft get past Deerfield 13-10. Naomi Willis notched 3 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Jones-Payton 14 Niles West 5

Rebecca Sudworth poured in 9 goals and Isabella Yeung netted 3 scores as the Eagles topped Niles West 14-5. Alina Hillery also totaled 8 saves and 2 steals in goal for the victors. Lauren Patt led the Wolves with 4 goals in the loss.

 

Whitney Young 18 Taft 3

Andrea Zelen, Jessica Beal, Melanie Balanon, and Tori Young each scored 3 times as the Dolphins topped Taft 18-3 to advance to the tournament title game.

 

Deerfield 20 Ogden 7 (5th place)

Naomi Willis tallied 6 goals and Becca Rosenberg put in 4 scores as the Warriors beat Ogden 20-7 to lay claim to fifth place at the Jones-Payton Tournament on Saturday. Samantha Whippen recorded 4 goals in the loss for Ogden.

 

Niles West 6 Taft 4 (3rd place)

Lauren Patt racked up 5 goals in the Wolves' 6-4 victory over Taft to help the team earn a third-place finish in their first-ever tournament appearance. Celeste Castillo put in 3 goals in the loss for the Eagles.

 

Whitney Young 13 Jones-Payton 5 (1st place)

Gabby Chelette scored 5 goals, Fairie Hughes chipped in with 3 scores, and Kennedy Baldwin recorded 2 goals as Whitney Young won the Jones-Payton Tournament by beating the hosts 13-5 in the title game of the event. Audrey Anderson, Tori Young, and Melanie Balanon each added one score in the win for the Dolphins. Rebecca Sudworth led the hosts with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

 

NAPERVILLE CENTRAL TOURNAMENT

Naperville Central 16 STC East 1

Alli Hansen tallied 4 scores, Michelle Spaits added 3 goals, and Kristina Altuve put in 2 scores as Central earned a 16-1 win over STC East. Caroline Aemmer and Jennifer Oliver led the defense after making 4 steals apiece while goalie Faith Vandercar blocked 6 shots and allowed just one goal. Megan Zbiden put in the lone score in the loss for the Saints.

 

Mother McAuley 10 Fremd 4

Fran Williamson led the Mighty Macs' offense with 4 goals and the trio of Claire Mueller, Clare Bryar, and Maggie Hennigan each scored 2 goals as the McAuley pulled away from the Vikings in the second half to earn a 10-4 win. Samantha Barry totaled 3 goals and Megan Younker scored once in the loss for Fremd.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 8 STC East 4

Megan Dunlavy tallied 4 scores and Amber Barney notched 2 scores in the Vikings' 8-4 victory over the Warriors. Brianna Rauch and Sarah Tolzer both chipped in with one score in the win for H-F. Lexy Kos scored 2 times and both Kaitlyn Johnson and Megan Zbiden scored once in the losing effort.

 

Fremd 9 Waubonsie Valley 2

Samantha Barry poured in 6 goals to help the Vikings bounce back from an earlier loss with a 9-2 victory over Waubonsie Valley. Karolina Urban, Sarah Coombs, and Tami Carlson each scored once in the win for Fremd. Monica Kunovszky and Samantha Holzschu both scored once in the loss for the Warriors.

 

STC East 11 Waubonsie Valley 9 (5th place)

Haley Salveson scored the game-winning goal with 1:51 remaining and Saints' goalie December Fagen made a key save in the final minute to help STC East emerge with an 11-9 win over Waubonsie Valley on Saturday afternoon. Lexy Kos scored 5 goals, Salveson put in 3 scores, and Megan Zbiden netted 2 goals in the winning effort. Samantha Holzschu totaled 5 scores and Molly Anderson scored 2 times in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 3 Fremd 2 (3rd place)

Megan Dunlavy scored 2 goals and Amber Barney scored once as the Vikings held off Fremd 3-2 in a low-scoring defensive battle to claim third place at the Naperville Central Tournament. Tami Carlson scored 2 goals in the loss for the Vikings.

 

Naperville Central 9 Mother McAuley 8 (1st place)

Jessica Fox scored the game-winning goal with :09 left in regulation to lift Naperville Central over Mother McAuley 9-8 in the title game of the Redhawks own tournament. It was the second straight week the NC senior scored in the final minute of a win and she led the offense with 4 goals in the win. Kristina Altuve also scored 2 times, while connecting on a man-up goal to tie the game with 1:27 remaining. Alli Hansen also scored 2 key second-half goals off the bench for the victors. Clare Bryar and Fran Williamson each scored 3 goals and both Claire Mueller and Julie Olivares tallied one score in the loss for the Mighty Macs.

Naperville North 9 Loyola 5

Katie Horn scored 5 goals and Dani DiMatteo netted 3 scores as the Huskies downed the Ramblers 9-5 on Saturday morning. Jilian Eiken also contributed one goal for the North in the win. Marta Considine and Megan Murtagh each scored 2 times and Julia Sajnaj added one score in the loss.

 

Loyola 9 Neuqua Valley 5

Marta Considine recorded 5 goals to lead Loyola past Neuqua Valley 9-5. Alana Dean, Claire Voss, Emily Barr, and Julia Sajnaj each added one score in the win for the Ramblers. Morgan Miller tallied 2 scores and Issi French blocked 14 shots in the loss for the Wildcats. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn Gorski, Lauren Backe, and Sarah Neery each scored once for NVHS.

 

Neuqua Valley 16 R-B 2

Morgan Miller totaled 6 scores and both Christina James and Lauren Backe tacked on 3 scores to help the Wildcats finish the weekend with a 16-2 win over the Bulldogs. Kaitlyn Gorski also added 2 goals and Issi French blocked 5 shots in the victory.

 

Naperville North 7 R-B 3

Alyssa Kolenda scored 2 times and five others (Amber McClure, Ellie Mattern, Katie Anderson, Kyra Hartley, Lauren Liberio) scored once as Naperville North defeated the Bulldogs 7-3 to win their own tournament on Saturday. Catie Kartje and Megan Calby each scored once in the loss for R-B.

Nicole Guyett scored 5 goals, the trio of Katie Difiglio, Katie Quinn, and Kennedi Norris each recorded 3 goals, and Allyson Foor and the North Stars' defense earned a 17-0 shutout over Hoffman.

 

STC North 11 Lake Forest 3

Nicole Guyett totaled 6 goals and 8 steals to lead the North Stars to an 11-3 victory over Lake Forest on Saturday. Katie Difiglio and Katie Quinn each scored 2 times and combined to make 15 steals as well, while Angelica Villa also added a goal for the winners.

 

Andrew 9 Maine West 7

Megan Hofer totaled 4 goals and 4 assists and Anna Tamulonis made 7 saves as Andrew defeated Maine West 9-7 on Saturday. Alison Sifuentes, Alexys Knight, Beth Koson, Natalia Bak, and Tamulonis each scored once in the T-Bolts' victory.

 

Andrew 6 Buffalo Grove 5

Anna Tamulonis, Courtney Carter, and Megan Hofer each scored 2 times and Tamulonis blocked 5 shots to help the T-Bolts beat Buffalo Grove 6-5 to advance to the tournament title game against the hosts.

 

STC North 11 Andrew 6 (1st place)

Angelica Villa and Katie Difiglio each scored 3 goals, Katie Quinn and Nicole Guyett both tallied 2 scores, and Katie Steele totaled one goal and 4 steals as the North Stars beat Andrew 11-6 to win their own tournament on Saturday afternoon. Allyson Foor also made 5 saves in the win for the North Stars. Megan Hofer recorded 4 goals and both Anna Tamulonis and Natalia Bak tallied one score in the loss for Andrew.
