GAME PREVIEWS (Friday, March 22)

TOURNAMENT TO WATCH

MUNDELEIN TOURNAMENT

Mundelein's fresh new tournament casts a wide variety of teams from across the Chicagoland-area in an eight-team, sixteen-game event that begins on Friday afternoon. The hosts belong to a group with New Trier, Hoffman, and Lindbergh; the other group features Fremd, Hinsdale Central, Lockport, and St Pats. The event culminates with a championship round beginning at 2:30pm on Saturday.

KEEP AN EYE ON

SCHAUMBURG TOURNAMENT

The Saxons' annual tournament is a two-day, eight-team, sixteen-game event that features teams that range from Missouri (Lafayette) to Chicago (Whitney Young) and just about everywhere else in between (Deerfield, McHenry, St Charles East, Wheeling, York).

OTHER KEY GAMES

NILES WEST TOURNAMENT

The Wolves will try to repeat as tournament champions of their own event like they did in 2012 when they host an eight-team event that kicks off on Friday afternoon. Niles West plays in a group that contains Von Steuben, St Rita, and Waubonsie Valley; the other group pits DeLaSalle, Maine West, Metea Valley, and Stagg against one another. The championship round decides the fate of all eight teams and begins at 1pm on Saturday.

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

Three Missouri-based teams head to Lincolnshire to do battle with the hosts, Oak Park, and Libertyville in a six-team, nine-game showdown titled the "I-55 Showdown" - the Illinois teams went 5-4 at last year's event. Who will gain the upper-hand in 2013 when it's Illinois versus Missouri?

GAME PREVIEWS (Friday, March 22)

TOURNAMENT TO WATCH

LWE TOURNAMENT

Lincoln-Way East's annual bracket-style tournament kicks off on Friday night with two pools being used to host games. The hosts are joined by Andrew, Lincoln-Way North, and Richards in their group, while LWC, R-B, and Lockport all head to Lincoln-Way West where they will take on the Phoenix in the other group. The opening-round winners will meet in the semifinal round, with the winners playing for the title at East on Saturday afternoon. LWN won the event in 2012.

KEEP AN EYE ON

6:00pm - #9 Loyola at #28 Evanston

The Wildkits will hope that the friendly confines of their own pool will help them get back on track after an overtime loss to GBN last night, while the Ramblers will look to do the same on the road after a loss to Mother McAuley on Wednesday night.

OTHER KEY GAMES

6:00pm - Schaumburg at Hinsdale South

6:00pm - Winter Park at #10 Lyons
