Andrew 10 Bremen 9

David Kiel and Joris Malkevicius combined to score 6 goals as Andrew narrowly beat Bremen 10-9 on Tuesday.

 

Glenbrook South 9 Loyola 8

Will Porter scored 5 times and Igor Gryniv and Kevin Roenitz both added 2 scores as GBS edged Loyola 9-8 on Tuesday. Tom Meyer made 14 saves in the win for the Titans. Charlie Dowdle led the Ramblers with 4 goals in the loss.

 

Lane 15 Niles West 11

Matt Gullickson and Wyatt Sugrue both scored 5 goals, Eryk Puczek added 4 scores, and Ricardo Quezada made 15 saves as Lane defeated Niles West 15-11.

 

Neuqua Valley 16 Metea Valley 5

Charlie Lockridge and Will Russell both scored 3 goals to lead Neuqua to a 16-5 victory over Metea on Tuesday night. Cameron Weber totaled 3 scores in the loss for Metea.

 

Northside 14 Taft 8

Cyrus Deloye scored 3 goals and Luis Granja and Michael Meyer each scored 2 times in Northside's 14-8 victory over Taft. Jaime Riano tallied 5 goals in the loss for the Eagles.

 

STC North 11 Hinsdale South 4

Joey Chokran, Justin Jacobson, and Kyle Passini each scored 3 times as STC North defeated Hinsdale South 11-4.

 

Wheeling 10 Deerfield/Highland Park 5

Andy Eiter scored 4 goals, Ethan Rosengarden added 3 scores, and Shane McDade made 11 saves in Wheeling's 10-5 win over Deer Park.


GIRLS

Bremen 9 Andrew 7

Bremen extended their lead to 9-5 heading into the fourth quarter and held on for a 9-7 win over Andrew on Tuesday. Hannah Schultz and Jessie Mroczek each tallied 3 goals and Emma Martinus scored 2 times in the win for the Red Jaguars. Leah McCarthy tallied 4 goals in the losing effort for the T-Bolts.

 

Evanston 12 Glenbrook North 7

Ellis O'Connor scored 7 goals and Sarah Thompson totaled 4 scores and 6 steals as Evanston fended off GBN 12-7 in a Central Suburban League fixture on Tuesday. Yasi Nassiri added a goal and 5 steals in the win for the Wildkits.

 

Fenwick 11 Stevenson 9

Gena Wendt scored the game-winning goal with 1:22 remaining and Fenwick added another goal in the final minute as they held off Stevenson 11-9 in Lincolnshire on Tuesday night. The Friars put together a 4-0 run in the early part of the second half to take a 9-5 lead, but the Patriots fought back with a 4-0 run of their own to tie the game at 9-9 with 1:38 left to play.

 

Alexa Ovalle tallied 4 goals and Wendt added 3 scores to lead the Friars, while Cara Borkovec and Maggie Carey added 2 scores apiece in the win. Cheyenne Montijo led Stevenson with 4 goals, while Karen Lowry added 2 scores and Lisa Michalowski stopped 9 shots in the loss.

 

Lincoln-Way West 13 STC East 4

Allison Rocha scored 6 goals and Becca Beeson made 10 saves as Lincoln-Way West earned a 13-4 win over STC East. Chelsea Rocha, Emily Gallagher, and Lauren Majewski each scored 2 times in the win.

 

Loyola 12 Hagerty (FL) 2

Brittany Wallace totaled 5 goals and Caitlin Sershon added 3 scores as Loyola won their third straight game in Florida when they beat Hagerty 12-2. Kate Ansani added 2 scores while Kristina Alexander and Meredith O'Brien combined for 9 saves and 5 steals.

 

Naperville 11 Waubonsie Valley 1

Abbey Kerth scored 6 goals and the Redhawks' defense held the Warriors scoreless for the final twenty-six minutes in an 11-1 win on Tuesday. Emily Sejna led the defense with 10 steals and added a goal for NC, while Claire Wirtz, Gracie May, Lauren Gunn, and Lizzie Giuliani each added one score in the win. Alex White scored the lone goal in the loss for Waubonsie.

 

Neuqua Valley 9 Metea Valley 8

Rachel Lehman recorded 3 goals and 3 steals to lead Neuqua to a 9-8 win over Metea on Tuesday night.

 

Oak Park 15 Payton 4

Kimmy Stefanik totaled 5 goals and both Katie Appell and Katie Hunt added 2 scores to help lift Oak Park past Payton 15-4.

 

Richards 14 Bradley 3

Lisa Gorski tallied 9 goals and Andrea Jaramillo and Sammi Craig each added 2 scores in Richards' 14-3 victory over Bradley.

 

Stagg 15 Shepard 10

Liz Hadhazy and Liz Waytecki combined to score 13 goals in Stagg's 15-10 triumph over Shepard.

 

STC North 8 Hinsdale South 3

Claire Bultema scored 4 goals and Mallory Hecht added 3 scores as the North Stars beat Hinsdale South 8-3 on Tuesday.

 

Vernon Hills 12 Deerfield/Highland Park 2

Dana Andrea racked up 8 goals and 8 steals and Ellie Silver scored 2 times as Vernon Hills topped Deerfield/Highland Park 12-2. Jane Chen recorded 7 steals and Gena Lopez made 8 saves in the victory for the Cougars.

 

Young 13 Morgan Park 6

Nayeli Langarica registered 6 goals as Young cruised to a 13-6 conference win over Morgan Park. The Dolphins held the Mustangs to just two goals in the first three period en route to the victory.

 

TUESDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS        

BOYS

MATCH OF THE DAY

Loyola at Glenbrook South (6:00pm) - The Ramblers and Titans meet in another early season contest that should eventually shape how the seeds are determined for the sectional playoffs. Loyola won their last meeting 9-5 in the sectional semifinals last May.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON:

Naperville Central at Waubonsie Valley (6:00pm) - The teams meet for the second time this season, as the Redhawks already own a 14-4 victory over the Warriors back at the end of Week 1.


GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY I

Fenwick at Stevenson (6:00pm) - Two traditional state powerhouse teams will do battle in Lincolnshire on Tuesday night when Fenwick heads to Stevenson in a test to see where both teamss stand at this early point of the season.

 

MATCH OF THE DAY II

McAuley at Lyons (6:00pm) - The Lions' perfect record will be put to the test when they play host  to Mother McAuley on Tuesday. The teams meet at the same location in last year's sectional final, with LT earning a state berth with a 12-5 victory over the Macs.
