TOURNAMENT REPORT
Preview
The Redhawks' tournament features an eclectic mix of six teams from around
the state; the first two games of the event begin on Friday night, with the
hosts taking on St Ignatius and Mother McAuley doing battle with
Fremd. H-F and Mundelein join the festivities on Saturday
and the tournament concludes with a mid-afternoon championship round.

St Ignatius 13 Naperville Central 2
Diana Fernandez and Stephania Lopez each scored 5 goals as the
Wolfpack jumped out to a 7-0 lead at halftime and never looked back
in a 13-2 win over Naperville Central. Tara White registered 2 goals
and Karen Juarez added one score in the victory. Kaela Codo scored
both goals in the loss for the Redhawks.
Mother McAuley 9 Fremd 2
Julie Olivares netted 2 goals and the trio of Claire Mueller,
Frances Bauer, and Tess Bowens each put in one goal as the Mighty
Macs built a 5-0 lead over the Vikings at halftime. Karolina Urban
and Kayla Helsdingen scored two consecutive goals in the third
period to cut the advantage to 5-2, but the Mighty Macs closed the
game on a 4-0 run courtesy of two goals apiece by Mueller and Maggie
Hennigan.
Naperville Central 11 Homewood-Flossmoor 2
Emily Westlove scored 4 goals and Kaela Codo scored 2 times as the
Redhawks beat H-F 11-2 to start the day. Angie Benton, Alli Hansen,
Emily Rodgers, Krista Drapalik, and Jennifer Oliver each added one
goal in the winning effort. Amber Barney registered both goals for
the Vikings in the loss.
Mother McAuley 12 Mundelein 7
Julie Olivares totaled 6 goals and Claire Mueller tallied 3 scores
to lead the Mighty Macs past Mundelein 12-7. Fran Bauer netted 2
goals, Molly O'Connell added one score, and Devin Flaherty blocked
11 shots for McAuley. Emily Garcia poured in 6 goals, Lauren Blake
scored once, and Emily Dodd made 10 saves in the loss for the
Mustangs.
St Ignatius 13 Homewood-Flossmoor 1
Diana Fernandez scored 4 goals and Tara White notched 3 scores in
the Wolfpack's 13-1 triumph over the Vikings. Alexis Anderson scored
the lone goal for H-F while Rebecca Tanner made 10 saves.
Fremd 11 Mundelein 3
Tami Carlson scored 4 times, Emma Hoffman netted 2 goals, and Emma
Jeronimus made 10 saves in the Vikings' 11-3 win over Mundelein.
Elisabeth Gomez, Emily Garcia, and Lauren Blake each scored once in
the loss for the Mustangs.
Mundelein 5 Homewood-Flossmoor 4
Emily Garcia tallied 4 goals, Lauren Blake chipped in with one
score, and Emily Dodd blocked 10 shots as the Mustangs closed out
the weekend with a 5-4 win over the Vikings in the fifth-place game
of the event. Amber Barney scored all 4 goals for H-F while Rebecca
Tanner stopped 11 shots in the one-goal loss.
Naperville Central 11 Fremd 2
Kaela Codo scored 5 goals and both Emily Rodgers and Emily Westlove
scored 2 times as the Redhawks claimed third place at their own
event with an 11-2 win over Fremd. Abbey Rosenstiel and Krista
Drapalik each added one score and Faith Vandercar blocked 9 shots in
the Central victory. Nicole Degla and Tami Carlson each notched one
score in the loss for Fremd.
St Ignatius 13 Mother McAuley 1
Stephania Lopez netted 5 goals and Karen Juarez tallied 3 scores as
the Wolfpack beat Mother McAuley 13-1 to win the Naperville Central
Tournament. Tara White added 2 goals while the trio of Brianna Gist,
Diana Fernandez, and Clara Lindland each scored once in the winning
effort. Molly
O'Connell scored the lone goal for the Mighty Macs in the losing
effort.
