Something's got to give when the Shamrocks and Wolfpack meet on Wednesday evening, as both teams enter this Catholic League contest with perfect records thus far in 2014.

Palatine 17 Fremd 9

Omar El Hoffi totaled 7 goals and Wally Kleinfeldt registered 5 scores as Palatine knocked off Fremd 17-9. Kristian Kalev tacked on 3 scores and Colin White saved 9 shots in the winning effort for the Pirates. Luke Stark led the Vikings with 4 goals in the losing effort.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 19 Shepard 4

Andrew Wojdyla and Dan Cavato registered 3 goals apiece while Andrew Batuello, Eric Tamulonis, Jake Villasenor, and Kyle Lynch each tallied 2 scores in the T-Bolts' 19-4 victory over Shepard. Tim Yara and Matt Bobber combined to stop 10 shots as well for the victors.

 

Barrington 12 Conant 5

Chase Lesniak tallied 4 goals, Nick Cogswell netted 3 scores, and both Marshall Mathias and Sam Miseyka recorded 2 goals as the Broncos downed the Cougars 12-5 on Wednesday. Pat Hogan also put in a goal in the win for Barrington.

 

DLS 16 Mt Carmel 6

Jeremy Siegel registered 5 goals and both Angelo Espinoza and Andy Behena tallied 4 scores to help the Meteors seal a 16-6 victory over Mt Carmel in an MCAC contest. Robert Rodriguez also notched 3 goals in the win for DLS.

 

Hersey 15 Meadows 5

George Vladimirov scored 5 goals and Jack Carroll notched 3 scores as the Huskies' beat Meadows 15-5 in an MSL East contest.

 

Lane 14 Payton-Jones 12

Max Boettcher totaled 7 goals and Israel Valle added 3 scores as the Indians beat the Eagles 14-12.

 

Loyola 9 St Viator 2

Cameron Shewchuck, Keegan Finn, and Ragen Murphy each scored 2 goals and Trevor Prince blocked 9 shots as the Ramblers' topped St Viator 9-2. Keegan Finn recorded both goals and Frank Skorski totaled 7 saves and 4 steals in the loss.

 

Morgan Park 13 Lincoln Park 8

Christian Cooper recorded 6 goals and 6 saves in the Mustangs' 13-8 victory over Lincoln Park.

 

Schaumburg 13 Hoffman 2

James Birriel scored 6 goals and Robert Bach saved 11 shots to lead the Saxons to a 13-2 victory over Hoffman. Alex Garibay netted both goals in the loss for the Hawks.

 

St Ignatius 9 St Patrick 6

Billy Barth poured in 7 goals and Tom Dowling added 2 scores to lead the Wolfpack to a 9-6 victory over St Patrick. Shane Hughes totaled 15 saves and 4 assists in a cameo appearance in goal for the winners.

 

Westinghouse 16 Taft 15

Tony Chabla scored 6 goals and Dante Navarro added 5 goals to help Westinghouse edge Taft 16-15 in a CPS contest on Wednesday. Ricky Navarro totaled 8 goals and Mike Lazalde netted 5 goals in the loss for Taft.

Colleen Barron scored 5 goals, Catie Wallace put in 4 scores, and Bridget Carey netted 3 goals to lead Fenwick past Mother McAuley 14-4. Alexa Ovalle and Janie Angelini each tallied 2 scores in the winning effort for the Friars. Clare Bryar and Fran Williamson both recorded 2 goals in the loss for the hosts.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Conant 16 Barrington 10

Carmen Rosas totaled 7 goals and 4 steals and Maddy Demaret saved 9 shots as the Cougars defeated Barrington 16-10. Angie Skittone tallied 4 scores, Sam Wooley put in 3 goals, and Kaitlyn Claffey notched 2 scores in the Conant victory. Sam Gavars racked up 8 goals in the loss for the Fillies.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 8 Waubonsie Valley 7 (OT)

Jamila Jenkins scored 2 straight goals in overtime to lift H-F to an 8-7 victory over Waubonsie Valley on Wednesday night. Megan Dunlavy led the Vikings with 3 goals and Amber Barney also scored 2 times in the extra-time win. Rebecca Tanner stopped 9 shots and Andrea Stilts added one score for the victors. Sam Holszchu tallied 4 scores and Kimela Srey netted 2 goals, and Nicole Conway blocked 11 shots in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Lane 13 Jones-Payton 5

Amanda Magana and Brianna Breason both scored 3 goals to lead Lane past Jones-Payton 13-5.

 

Loyola 15 St Viator 2

Julia Sajnaj registered 7 goals and Claire Voss scored 3 times to help the Ramblers beat St Viator 15-2 in Catholic League play. Other goal-scorers for the victors included Alana Dean, Emi Croghan, Ellen Garrity, Liz Kyle, and Megan Murtagh. Colleen Ahern also made 8 saves in the win for Loyola. Bridget Hulsebosch scored both goals and Nina Byskosh saved 14 shots in the loss for the Lions.

 

Maine West 13 Lake Forest 1

Carly Romano, Emily Morrison, and Holly Wasicak each scored 3 goals and Julia Huinker stopped 8 shots as the Warriors defeated Lake Forest 13-1 on Wednesday. Morrison and Wasicak combined to make 12 steals and Annie Picciotti added 2 scores in the winning effort for West.

 

Northside 8 Morton 4

Marti Hale scored 4 times, Morgan Nicholson put in 2 goals, and Megan Davis made 11 saves to help NSP get past Morton 8-4 in nonconference play.

 

Palatine 9 Fremd 3

Rachel Chumbook scored 5 goals, Caroline Wojtas added 3 scores, and Kim Butler blocked 14 shots as Palatine defeated Fremd 9-3 in a battle for the top spot in the MSL West division. Jackie Kincanon also scored once in the Pirates' win. Samantha Barry netted 2 goals and Megan Younger added one score in the loss for the Vikings.

 

Schaumburg 11 Hoffman 4

Brittany Vasquez recorded 4 goals and Becca Kasner put in 3 scores in the Saxons' 11-4 win over HEHS. Jessica Sullivan notched 3 scores in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Westinghouse 9 Taft 5

Madeline Garcia netted 5 goals to lead Westinghouse past Taft 9-5 in a CPS contest on Wednesday.

 

Wheeling 7 Prospect 5

Argelia Diaz, Emily Sowa, and Theresa Godlewski each scored 3 goals and Shannon Richards added one score to lift Wheeling over Prospect 7-5 on Wednesday night. Danielle McAillister and Niki Neumann each scored 2 goals and Mary Schiavone added one score in the loss for the Knights.

 

York 15 STC East 9

Grace Achepohl and Perri Brinkmeier each tallied 5 scores and Kirsten Rasnic added 2 goals as York beat STC East 15-9 on Wednesday.
