Mighty Macs Make Strong
Impression In Naperville
Mother McAuley knocked off
Naperville Central 9-5 in the title game of the Redhawks' tournament to walk
away from Naperville with a 3-0 record over the weekend. Clare Bryar scored 9
goals during the event, which saw the state's second-ranked team earn convincing
wins over Fremd and Mundelein before they downed the hosts in their own pool.
The Redhawks finished in second place after Erin Reagan scored 9 times and
Jessica Fox allowed just 6 goals in wins over H-F and STC East. H-F fended off
Mundelein in the third-place game, while Fremd grabbed their first win of the
weekend by beating STC East 10-7 in the fifth-place game.
Friday's Game Recaps
Naperville Central 9 Homewood-Flossmoor 3
Erin Reagan scored 3 goals and Madison Nervig tallied 2 scores to lead the
Redhawks to a 9-3 win over Homewood-Flossmoor on Friday evening. Jenny
Doyle, Kaela Codo, Kristina Altuve, and Michelle Spaits each scored once,
while goalie Jessica Fox made 7 saves in the Central win. Maddy Morris
scored 2 times, Amber Barney tallied one score, and Anna Shirer blocked 17
shots in the Vikings' loss.
Mother McAuley 9 Mundelein 3
Amy Kopale and Vicki Arciniega each scored 2 goals to help Mother McAuley
get past Mundelein 9-3 on Friday. Clare Bryar, Fran Williamson, Emily
Bowens, Kristen Kleist, and Meg Golon each scored once in the Mighty Macs'
win. Michelle Barron scored all 3 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.
Saturday's Game Recaps
Naperville Central 17 STC East 3
Kaela Codo and Kristina Altuve each scored 4 times and Jessica Fox
totaled 11 saves and 4 assists in the Redhawks' 17-3 victory over STC
East. Erin Reagan and Madison Nervig also scored 2 times, while Niki
Kolbe earned 5 steals on the defensive end. Kaitlyn Johnson, Maya Heath,
and Sarah Ditch each scored once in the loss for the Saints.
Mother McAuley 10 Fremd 1
Clare Bryar scored 4 goals and Kristen Kleist notched 3 scores as the
Mighty Macs raced out to a 9-1 lead at halftime en route to a 10-1
victory over Fremd. Fran Williamson and Julie Olivares each scored once
in the win for McAuley as they advanced to the event's title game. Emma
Hoffman scored the lone goal for the Vikings.
H-F 8 STC East 2
Maddy Morris registered 3 goals and Megan Dunlavy nicked 2 scores in the
Vikings' 8-2 victory over STC East. Amber Barner, Claire Duncan, and
Kelly Morrissey also added their name to the scoresheet with one goal
apiece for the winners. Lexy Kos scored both goals for the Saints.
Mundelein 12 Fremd 6
Michelle Barron scored 6 goals and both Courtney Perrault and Kasia
Wienckowski tallied 2 scores in the Mustangs' 12-6 triumph over Fremd.
Mandy Borre scored 2 times in the loss for the Vikings.
Fremd 10 STC East 7
Emma Hoffman, Jena Teragawachi, Mandy Borre, and Tori Boldt each scored 2
times in Fremd's 10-7 win over STC East to claim fifth-place at the NC
Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Sarah Ditch scored 4 times in the loss
for the Saints.
H-F 7 Mundelein 3
Annie Schloen scored 3 goals to lead the Vikings to a 7-3 win over
Mundelein in the third-place game of the Naperville Central Tournament.
Kasia Wienckowski scored 2 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

Clare Bryar recorded 4 goals, Amy Kopale scored 3 times, and Vicky
Arciniega added 2 goals as Mother McAuley won the Naperville Central
Tournament with a 9-5 victory over the hosts. Erin Reagan led the
Redhawks with 4 scores in the losing effort.
