The Huskies have their sights on a state title in 2014, but they will have to be ready for a hungry Dukes' team ready to make them miserable when they travel to Elmhurst on Tuesday.

Lyons 10 Oak Park 7

Lyons outscored Oak Park 8-1 in the second half to earn a 10-7 comeback victory over the visitors in West Suburban Conference play on Tuesday evening. Nathan Kriha helped lead the second half surge by the Lions with 4 goals, while Oak Park's Mark Hallman scored 4 goals of his own in the loss.

Hersey 13 Lake Forest 5

Jack Carroll notched 6 goals and George Vladimirov scored 3 times in Hersey's 13-5 victory over Lake Forest. Michael Allen tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Scouts.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 20 Hinsdale South 6

Haden Santefort poured in 9 goals and Broc Thompson scored 7k times to lead the Vikings past Hinsdale South 20-6 on Tuesday. Robbie Schloen added 2 goals and Jakobi McClellan made 15 saves in the H-F victory. Danny Cepeda tallied 2 scores and Dean Driggers stopped 11 shots in the loss for the Hornets.

 

Lane 10 Lake View 6

Alex Carreon, Max Boettcher, and Peter Proctor each registered 2 goals to lift the Indians past Lake View 10-6 on Tuesday in the CPS opener for both squads. Andriy Andrushchak tallied 4 scores and Michael Velez netted 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

Lincoln-Way North 15 Shepard 4

Cole Claypool scored 5 goals, Max Petraitis notched 3 scores, and Shamus Shields stopped 12 shots to lead the Phoenix to a 15-4 victory over Shepard. Evan Surma and Nate Pakosz combined to add 2 goals and 9 assists in the win.

 

Naperville North 20 York 8

Nolan Roberts recorded 7 goals in the first half to help Naperville North build a 13-3 halftime lead en route to a 20-8 victory over York in nonconference play. Garrett Nash and Gianmarco Duin each scored 3 times and Luke Landiak and Joe Tomashek each contributed 2 goals in the winning effort. Wil Hubert led York with 3 scores in the loss.

 

Neuqua Valley 14 Barrington 5

Ian Ivkovich registered 7 goals and Simon Shatinsky totaled 3 scores as Neuqua Valley pulled away from the Broncos in the second half to earn a 14-5 win. Brett Whaley added 2 goals and Joey Dalesandro led the defense with 6 steals in the victory. Chase Lesniak tallied 2 scores to lead the Barrington offense.

 

Palatine 17 Mundelein 14

Omar El Hoffi put in 7 goals and both Kristian Kalev and Wally Kleinfeldt notched 4 scores as Palatine got past Mundelein 17-14. Mihai Maior added 2 scores, hole-defender Jacob Baran did not allow a shot from set, and goalies Colin White and Charlie Davis combined to block 9 shots in the Pirates' win. Jude Krauss, Mike Ward, and Jeremy Westgate each tallied 3 scores to lead the Mustangs in the losing effort.

 

Stevenson 23 Evanston 7

Mitchell Sokolsky scored 7 goals, Alex Kapecki notched 5 scores, and Shaurya Gilani blocked 13 shots as Stevenson raced out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back in beating Evanston 23-7. Alex Divanyan and Kurt Holzer both scored 3 times and Andrew Shashin netted 2 goals in the winning effort for the Patriots.

 

Wheeling 11 Maine East 7

Nate Reiff tallied 6 goals and Landon Lockwood netted 2 scores to lift Wheeling past Maine East 11-7 on Tuesday night. Andy Splett, Dave Modlin, and Andy Splett each added one score in the victory for the Wildcats.

Mundelein 13 Palatine 11 (OT)

The Mustangs came-from-behind to force overtime and pulled away from the visiting Pirates in the extra session to earn a narrow 13-11 victory in the season-opener for both teams. Emily Garcia racked up 8 goals and Denise Casali notched 2 scores in the winning effort for the hosts. Allie Booth, Emily Dodd, and Lauren Blake each chipped in with a goal for the Mustangs. Caroline Wojtas and Rachel Chumbook each registered 3 scores, Caitlin McHugh added 2 goals, and Kristen Anderson, Maryana Dvorska, and Jackie Kincanon also scored one goal apiece in the loss for Palatine.

Hersey 16 St Viator 4

The Huskies improved to 2-0 by defeating fellow Arlington Heights squad St Viator 16-4 on Tuesday in a nonconference battle. In the loss, Laura Foss scored 3 goals and Nina Byskosh stopped 7 shots for the Lions.

 

Naperville Central 15 Marian 5

Michelle Spaits totaled 5 goals and the trio of Jessica Fox, Kaela Codo, and Nikki Kolbe each recorded 2 goals in the Redhawks' 15-5 triumph over Marian. Ann Marie Gunn, Beth Ryan, and Emily Westlove each added one score and Faith Vandercar blocked 5 shots in the win. Mae Van Beest tallied 3 scores and both Genna Helsel and Morgan Meyers each netted one score in the losing effort.

 

Naperville North 13 York 2

Jilian Eiken recorded 4 goals and both Dani DiMatteo and Taylor Stoner put in 2 goals to help lead the Huskies to a 13-2 home win over York. Kate MacDuff blocked 6 shots while Caitlin Holzer, Dree Kinder, Elle Mattern, Helen Wei, and Katie Horn each notched a goal in North's season-opening victory.

 

Neuqua Valley 12 Schaumburg 1

Kaitlyn Gorski notched 4 scores and both Lauren Backe and Morgan Miller chipped in with 3 goals as the Wildcats rolled to a 12-1 victory over Schaumburg.

 

STC East 16 Meadows 10

The Saints earned a 16-10 victory over visiting Rolling Meadows on Tuesday in a nonconference contest. Erin Pletch and Maggie Fiekes each scored 3 goals, Natalie Delporte put in 2 scores, and Betsy Zanocco stopped 16 shots in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Vernon Hills 13 Elk Grove 6

Lauren Wood totaled 9 goals to help lead the Cougars to a season-opening 13-6 win over Elk Grove.

 

Wheeling 19 Deerfield 3

Theresa Godlewski slammed in 10 goals and Emily Sowa added 4 tallies in Wheeling's 19-3 triumph over Deerfield in a late Tuesday night game.
