Lawrence Cozzi scored 6 goals and Kevin Obrecht stopped 15 shots as the Huskies outlasted Young 16-15 on Thursday night. Leo Manola added 3 scores, both Jordan Mann and Thomas Wolfe scored 2 times and the trio of Aidan Wade, Jake Grant and Matt Mitrovich each scored once in the victory.

Latin 10 Maine West 7 (OT)

Sam Orlin led the Romans offense with 5 goals in a 10-7 overtime victory over visiting Maine West. The hosts outscored the Warriors 4-1 in the two extra periods to secure their first win of the season.

 

Lyons 17 Hinsdale South 7

George Lundgren and Sam Szczepaniak each scored 4 goals and Nick Rosenberger made 17 saves as LT began their quest to repeat as state champions with a 17-7 victory over Hinsdale South in WSC action.

 

York 17 Riverside-Brookfield 5

Danny Stumpf totaled 7 goals, Tim Evely scored 4 times and Nik Miklyukh netted 3 scores as the Dukes went on the road to beat the Bulldogs 17-5.

Jillian Schultz totaled 7 goals and 8 steals while Andie Stonach stopped 7 shots as the Red Jaguars went on the road to beat H-F 16-6 to snag their first win of 2016. Elizabeth Minnich, Leah Wood, Rachel Smith and Gretchen Behrens each added 2 goals in the win for Bremen. Alexis Anderson scored 3 times and the trio of Brooke Pair, Emily Mathews and Samantha Klupchak each scored once in the loss for the Vikings.

Mia Latimer scored 3 goals to help lead Barrington past Meadows 5-2. Emily Walters and Sara Luedloff each scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Highland Park 12 Niles West 6

Emma Gelberg scored 6 goals and Natalie Gelberg notched 3 scores as the Lady Giants beat Niles West 12-6 on Thursday evening.

 

Hoffman 16 Andrew 12

Jenny Fermaintt scored 7 goals and Ann Cho tallied 4 scores to help lead Hoffman to a 16-12 victory over Andrew on Thursday. Magdiel Lopez and Maggie Rommel each added 2 scores in the win for the Hawks. Jessica Gomez scored 4 goals, Cailey Pietrzyk put in 3 scores and both Alexys Knight and Sarah Rodgers scored 2 goals apiece in the loss for the T-Bolts.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 6 STC North 2

Cailey Davern racked up 5 goals and Nikki Howe scored once as the Knights started their season off with a 6-2 win over STC North. Erin Kay also blocked 8 shots in the win. Brittany Veto and Katie Steele each scored once while Claire Rich stopped 11 shots in the losing effort.

 

Lyons 12 Hinsdale South 2

Maddie Cordell and Megan Kotil each scored 2 goals while Maddie Janik allowed just 2 goals on the other end as Lyons topped Hinsdale South 12-2. Single goal scorers forLT included Annika Moore, Claudia Lundgren, Greta Markey, Elisa Jaramillo, Hanna Good, Kaysie Stuba, Maddie Janik and Victoria Guevara.

 

Naperville Central 15 Glenbrook South 5

Kaela Codo registered 4 goals and Faith Vandercar made 8 saves as the Redhawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead en route to a 15-5 triumph over GBS. Anne Marie Gunn, Charlotte Albright and Emily Westlove each added 2 goals while Alli Hansen dished out 5 assists for the victors.

 

Oak Park 14 Waubonsie 10 (OT)

Genevieve Curry totaled 8 goals and both Ellie Kennedy-Wood and Kathryn Raeder scored 2 times as the Huskies outlasted Waubonsie Valley 14-10 in overtime on Thursday. Addie Steward-Nolan scored once and dished out 3 assists, Kevan Casson scored once and Kaitlyn Peterson stopped 6 shots in the victory.

 

Prospect 10 Schaumburg 5

Colleen Doyle, Gracie Dix and Michaela Malone each tallied 2 scores and Mary Clare McAleer (17 saves) earned her first varsity win in the cage as Prospect defeated Schaumburg 10-5. Ann Fulk, Connie Vuong, Emma Colehour and Faye Barry each scored once as well for the Knights. Emily Droege and Hannah Pearson each scored 2 goals while Becca Kasner scored once in the loss.
