NAPERVILLE TOURNAMENT
Naperville Central Continues Area Dominance
The second-ranked Redhawks
allowed just five goals in four games to finish with a 4-0 record against
their closest rivals and claim first place at the Neuqua Valley Tournament
on Saturday. NC beat Metea Valley 17-2 in the virtual title game, shutout
Waubonsie Valley 14-0, and also earned wins over the hosts (13-1) and
Naperville North (11-2).
Metea Valley finished in
second place with a 2-1-1 record, surprising Naperville North 8-7,
defeating WV 9-7 and earning a 7-7 draw against Neuqua Valley. Naperville
North finished third with a 2-2 record, Neuqua Valley ended up in fourth
with 1-2-1 mark, and WV finished in fifth place without a win.

Erin Reagan each recorded 2 scores as NC topped Neuqua 11-2.

Julia Campbell earned her
first shutout of the season and Abbey Kerth, Madison Nervig, and Michelle
Spaits each tallied 3 goals as NC defeated Waubonsie 14-0.

Abbey Kerth recorded 5 goals
to help lead the Redhawks to a 17-2 victory over Metea Valley. Lizzie
Hollopeter scored both goals for the Mustangs in the losing effort.

Julia Campbell limited the
Wildcats to one goal and maintained a 1.25 goals allowed average for the
tournament as the Redhawks went 4-0 after beating the hosts 13-1 on
Saturday afternoon.

Jillian Eiken and Taylor
Bridgman both registered 2 goals as the Huskies defeated Neuqua 7-4.
Naperville North 11 Waubonsie 2
Meghan Anderson tallied 3
scores and Adrienne Jamieson added 2 goals as North beat WV 11-2.
Metea 9 Waubonsie 7
Lizzie Hollopeter and Monica
Lawless each scored 3 goals and Alex Conti added 2 scores to help Metea
beat Waubonsie 9-7.
Metea 8
Naperville North 7
Lizzie Hollopeter scored 3
times and Lindsay Raczak added 2 scores as Metea stunned Naperville North
8-7 to end up in second place for the tournament. Jillian Eiken scored 3
goals in the losing effort.
Metea 7 Neuqua 7
Katelyn Apple (4 goals) helped
the Mustangs storm back from a 5-0 first period deficit as Metea and
Neuqua ended their contest in a 7-7 draw. The Mustangs had a chance to win
in the closing seconds with a breakaway attempt, but Wildcats' goalie Jess
Marone made a huge save to preserve the tie for the hosts.

goals in Neuqua Valley's 12-4 victory over Waubonsie Valley.
