Fremd Claims Loyola Tournament Title

Julie Conrath allowed just one goal in three games to help Fremd cruise to the Loyola Tournament title on Saturday after a stellar team defensive performance.

The Vikings earned a 7-0 shutout win over the hosts in the virtual title game, kept a clean sheet in a 13-0 victory over Hersey, and topped R-B 20-1. Conrath totaled 20+ saves in the three-game set and scored 2 goals in the field in the game against R-B. Lauren Zambelli and Sam Matuszewski each put in 5 goals in the wins against Hersey and Loyola, Sam del Prado added 3 scores in the two games, and 12 different players contributed goals in the win over R-B.

Loyola finished in second place with wins over Hersey (7-4) and R-B (18-2), while the Bulldogs took third place after beating Hersey in a shootout 5-4 after the teams finished tied in regulation at 7-7.
