STC East Edges Hoffman For Tournament Crown

The Saints earned a 10-6 victory over the hosts in the title game to earn the Hoffman Tournament title on Saturday afternoon. STC East also earned wins over Buffalo Grove and Prospect to achieve a trifecta of wins against Mid-Suburban League teams over the weekend. The Hawks placed second, while Hinsdale South beat Buffalo Grove in the third-place game.

Hoffman 22 Vernon Hills 2

Adam Pasnicki scored 7 goals and both Sang Han and Steven Jatich added 5 scores in Hoffman's 22-2 win over Vernon Hills in the tournament's first game.

STC East 7 Buffalo Grove 6

Stephen Mason registered 3 goals to help STC East hang on for a 7-6 victory over Buffalo Grove. Sam Schultz also scored 2 times and Shaun Suescheck added one score in the Saints' victory. Nick Boukas scored 3 goals and Ian Rodriguez added 2 scores in the loss for the Bison.

Hinsdale South 15 Vernon Hills 6

Matt Dejewski scored 5 times and both Anthony Arito and Ryan O'Toole scored 3 goals as the Hornets topped Vernon Hills 15-6. David Zepeda totaled 3 goals in the loss for the Cougars.

STC East 13 Prospect 11

Mitch Phelps notched 6 scores and Stephen Mason added 3 scores as STC East advanced to the tourney  title game with a 13-11 victory over Prospect. Nate Ginnodo led the Knights with 4 goals in the loss.

Hoffman 10 Hinsdale South 7

Sang Han scored 4 times, Steven Jatich added 3 scores, and Adam Pasnicki put in 2 goals as Hoffman defeated Hinsdale South 10-7 to move to the first place game of their own tournament. Anthony Arito scored 4 goals and Ryan O'Toole scored 2 times for the Hornets.

STC East 10 Hoffman 6

Mitch Phelps registered 6 goals and Shaun Suescheck added 3 scores to lead the Saints to a 10-6 win over Hoffman in the tournament's title game. Sang Han and Steven Jatich each scored 2 goals in the loss for the second-place Hawks.
